Because just imagine yourself having fun... rockstar doesn't like that, that's why there are a lot of obvious missing things that should be in this game, like a jet pack.

Crouching and shoulder switching I guess you can call it need to be implemented. Crouching as discussed above, just read all that. Shoulder switching is needed to help with this heavily flawed combat system in this game. Why? So you can flank left and not be killed by some corner shooting douche flanking right. Also, balance to the whole combat system, it is terrible as is.

The people defending R* in this thread or implying that stealth mode has any purpose are freaking hilarious. The same people would probably defend Rockstar's decision NOT to put a legit shoulder swap in this game.

I am with you, lol232! It's been a big pet peeve of mine since early on.

I remember when I first engaged the current "crouch," thinking exact, "what the? this is NOT a crouch!"

 

It was a sincere letdown and might have been the first of many things I missed from GTAIV.

If Rockstar doesn't allow fun, why do so many people (I'm guessing yourself included) still play GTA O?

 

Enough of this "no fun" bull-crap. It got old in 2013.

They don't even have to remove the useless stealth. The crouch feature can also serve as the stealth feature by muffling footsteps, two birds with one stone.

Didn't say they have to remove it, they can keep it along with crouching, but idea to replace crouching with stealth was stupid.

Crouch would be good, if only to deal with the frustrating cover system.

 

The amount of times I've been killed because my character decided to stand behind a waist-high wall (leaving his entire upper-body exposed)

how is crouching not needed? it has been in gta before and it won't turn gta in to cod thats for sure.

 

stealth is useless in free roam and most missions but crouching would be useful. how can you not want it?

when i come around a corner and see someone aiming their gun i like to crouch, not go into stealth.

This is why you should join the master race.

I'm already deep inside the master race with a Titan X, and saving up to four figures (US$) for my next PC, but I this is something we should already have w/o modding. Edited by lol232

When a thread starts with not bitching and moaning it basically is that. To be honest? It doesn't even matter to me. Crouch isn't needed.

I would like this function it Would be great for sniping also if you are end of days 96 psn i would like to apologize for not killing you enough 66 times wasn't enough

This ain't Battlefield either and we've got 2 armed jets, several armed choppers, two LAPVs, a tank and many more military-grade equipment.

I maxed out stealth even before I maxed out driving and shooting, and even I think stealth is stupid.

 

I mean, it's not really stealth. You're just hunched over, not hidden. The only benefit is noise reduction. If you're crouched, you have less visibility as well as quiet footsteps.

 

It's like silenced pink shotguns with the flashlight on. Yes, it's quiet, but you still stick out.

There's already a whole bunch fun things to do in the game. Not sure how crouching would make it any more fun. There's also aircraft, suck it up and use those. Just sounds like it's you that isn't fun.

 

OT I wouldn't be mad at a crouch feature being implemented.

Not bitching or moaning, but do you think we should be allowed to crouch in GTA V? (I'm talking both MP and SP)

The thing is, it's literally in the game files and can be easily used on the PC version - matter of fact, many NPCs do it.

The reality is, the stealth feature (which basically replaced crouching), apart from in some SP story missions, is f*cking useless. Why exactly did it replace crouching?

 

No, I'm not talking about crouching from the cover, by the way, I'm talking about being able to crouch freely even if you're not behind anything or anyone.

 

Again, why is it so hard for Rockstar to just readd it? It functions just fine, yet we can't use it. I know we can use mods, but I would like this to be possible without usage of mods (and i.e. on console versions too).

I'm with you. Simply put, it was in GTA: IV and mysteriously taken out in V. Just like Adversary Modes, R* adds something more to the game most players don't want and ignore the features to add that players actually want. I blame Take Two though, since they are the ones pulling R*'s reigns...

I used to enjoy popping people in the forehead who crouched thinking they were a more accurate shot and smaller target....it's not gonna help you just like rolling

LOL. I will add that the Stealth feature does make you aim a little better and makes you look like you are part of a tactical unit. Other than that, no. Crouching instead, please. Then I can roll out from cover SWAT style:
