Exactly why hasn't the crouch ability been added yet?

Not bitching or moaning, but do you think we should be allowed to crouch in GTA V? (I'm talking both O and SP)

The thing is, it's literally in the game files and can be easily used on the PC version - matter of fact, many NPCs do it.

The reality is, the stealth feature (which basically replaced crouching), apart from in some SP story missions, is f*cking useless. Why exactly did it replace crouching?

 

No, I'm not talking about crouching from the cover, by the way, I'm talking about being able to crouch freely even if you're not behind anything or anyone.

 

Again, why is it so hard for Rockstar to just readd it? It functions just fine, yet we can't use it. I know we can use mods, but I would like this to be possible without usage of mods (and i.e. on console versions too). And stealth doesn't need to be removed, just f*cking add the ability to crouch.

Exactly one of my main complains with V. A lot of things were cut from previous games that made no sense (i.e: crouching, jumping in place, picking up/throwing objects, pushing NPCs, etc). It really takes away from the experience.

 

Besides, Stealth Mode is completely useless and is never used in gameplay since stealth isn't possible. Save for a few missions, it's pretty much meaningless. Crouching would be a welcome addition.

Stealth mode in online is NOT useless. There are a few contact missions where you can go stealth and stealth kill enemies without alerting the others. It is pretty much required for some heist setups like Humane Labs - Deliver EMP.

 

In deathmatches, it lessens the probability of your dot showing up on the map. If you use this technique, you can get in some sneak in from behind and stealth kill 'em kind of kills.

 

In free mode, you can use off the radar and stealth mode to sneak up behind another player. They are less likely to hear you if you are in stealth mode.

 

I'm not sure what crouching is going to do for you, other than lessen the probability of getting hit. You can use cover and combat rolls instead.

For the deliver the emp, it shows you how far the noise radius is on the map when running. You literally have to be in pissing distance for them to hear you full sprint.

 

As for hugging a wall waiting for the enemy to pop up....i fnnd that way too slow and turns the gameplay into essentially a rail shooter.

If they do add it, it should improve accuracy. have you ever fired a weapon before? Firing while standing is much less accurate than kneeling with your leg as a support system. And even more stable while firing from the prone position.

It wont get added or patched in because it simply isn't something that will positively impact shark card sales so, Yes it would be nice but no R* won't waste time on it because it isn't profitable.

Would crouch more if it had an effect, like making ur radar dot fade in and out for stealthings function. A lah red dead redemption.

 

Not a fan of the crouch as it looks like my character needs to take a MAJOR dump, and looking for a public restroom & can't run for fear of #2'n my pants.

 

Vote yes for full crouch, like when against a bike...just looks cooler and functional along with the dual pistols. Sup CJ.

Just so you know, stealth mode is 100% not even remotely required for Deliver EMP. You can literally sprint right up to the people and shoot them with a silenced auto shotty.

They should add a crouch, and the ability to crawl (would be great for snipers). Auto aim should be unavailable while crawling though, in my opinion.

I'd actually fully support the idea of additional stances, but considering GTA:O's current status, I heavily doubt they'd make such a drastic change like that. But by any chance they do manage to refine stances, I'd also like a prone position, an ideal way to snipe. I'd always hide prone on a rooftop, lying belly down, and awaiting a prey, if the option was added. But as of now, it just seems like an idyllic hope.
