I don't understand why the aim prioritises cops over other players

Arrows to Athens

Now, if you're going to evade this point once again, I have no reason to reason with you any further.

You never really had anything to begin with.

If you don't want to LOCK ON.. DON"T LOCK ON.

Dafuk? Hows that complicated?

Il drop the MIC now.. :catspider:

Ahhh... my brain.

I'm done.

Its not my fault you don't get it.

f*ck.. even i hate auto aim i have no problems using AA with cops and players around. Just don't fully lock on.. or MOVE.

You want MORE options for auto aim? Just be happy R* added one to avoid locking on to friends. Thats the only cookie that makes sense really.

Did you just say to NOT lock on in auto-aim lobbies? Did you even read what you just said?

You do know that if you don't fully press the LT it won't lock on.. right?

That you can also shoot with out even using the LT... right?

This is basic sh*t here man.

Not locking on would grant the opponent an easy kill because they could be able to auto aim me, while the game is prioritising the cops for me. It's an auto aim lobby, so I'm going to lock on. No one free aims against an auto aim player, unless they're rambo.

not much to do, he just didnt want to read your full posts.

i get what you're after, but can R* do it? Since the aiming priority just makes it so that you cant lock on at all to friends, wouldnt this mean you cant lock on to cops at all?

ofc it would be great of it still would lock to cops, but choose to have players as the prioriry, but idk if theres any chance they can fix something like that.

They could do it, but they always have excuses for not adding simple things in the game. Setting the priority so you don't lock onto friends still makes you lock onto cops, pedestrians, and even crew members. There isn't even a crew member priority smh...

Rambo huh>?

If two people are surrounded by cops.. And one guy is spamming AA with the lock on snapping around.. While the guy is manually aiming.. guess who has the advantage.

Knowing when and how to use AA is actually something that some people don't want to learn i guess..

I never have your problems.. And of play alot of AA. So i have no problem taking my own advice..

Sometimes the other player will be able to lock onto me, while the game keeps making me lock onto cops. That actually happens, so obviously the other player is going to have the advantage, since I'm defenceless.

This clearly is too difficult for your cocky brain to process, unfortunately.

Cops are not even after me and a player is trying to kill me but the stupid auto aim locks onto the cops getting me killed.

Drop your aim setting to 'partial' assist.

You'll have more control over aim preference.

Hulio, if you're going to complain about 'suicide drama queens', then I and many others will complain about AA prioritising cops and pedestrians. Not to mention, you can easily avoid the 'suicide drama queens' by simply refraining from engaging with a gunfight with them and moving on. :p

Rockstar isn't going to add cooldown timer to the suicide option because a few individuals are desperate for a kill to increase that e-peen.

And this is exactly why I and many others use the suicide option. You're forced to do it unless you want to give your foe the opportunity to shoot you in the back while you're fighting the cops.

It takes like 2 seconds to open up the menu and highlight the option, and another 2-3 seconds for your character to pull out a pistol, point it towards his temple and pull the trigger. So, you may not have the time do that before the player riddles you with bullets.

Sticky Bomb is my preferred method, quick weapon change and BOOM, no more cops.

I don't bother waiting until the other player has respawned, I just blow myself up and continue the battle 'fresh'.

Free aim or get gud.

Just knocking out those two responses for you op.

I would love to play free aim but the lobbies are always dead.

Not sure why people still... years later. Keep claiming that the lobbies are always dead. They are not.. I play in packed free aim lobbies every day since release.

But the other.. get gud is another option.

You simply cannot have a 1 vs 1 shoot out on the streets like a death match in free roam without cops getting involved. You need to keep moving and pick your spots to shoot. Or die by cops... or in your case target cops. Just..get away from them.

Using a weaking auto aim helps in AA. Less clingy and snappy.

I jumped into fa lobbies the other day and I'll tell you it was a lonely experience no vips, jets, griefers, nothing. Unfortunately aa lobbies are where 'it's' at I'm afraid.

aim your rpg at the player or aim your favorite gun manually at the player, the autoaim will lock on the player then.

For me, FA only makes sense on PC where it's easier to control where you're aiming. We console players have to deal with joysticks and I sometimes struggle to aim properly in FPS and GTAV. I tried finding that sensibility sweet spot but I always seem to miss it. If it's too slow I don't have enough time to turn around, and if it's too fast I can't aim for sh*t.

TL;DR: Mouse > Joysticks, and this comes from a console player

Why is this even a thread? The OP is complaining that the computer decides who to kill for them when they have selected the please 'assist' me option. Groan. So you don't want the computer to help you and potentially cock it up? Then turn 'assisted' off.

Arent "assist" and "choose for me" two different things tho? Assist should just help me aim not aim for me. In other words it should just aim in the general direction of the enemy and from there I have to manually choose with the stick where exactly to shoot. There shouldnt be a priorty at all imo. The game should just go with who's in the direction I'm facing.

This isn't about the merits of auto-aim or free-aim and which is better (reality is, neither is better or worse - it's down to the choice of each and every individual. To argue otherwise is the sign of a true idiot).

It's about the game targeting NPC's over the person who is trying to kill you. Clearly, this is only an issue in auto-aim so frankly, the free-aim pseudo-elitists can either shut up, bugger off or say something constructive.

On topic, as has been said already, we need a targeting priority NPC v's Player option added.

You need? You neeeeed? :D

No... you need to learn when to use AA correctly when too many targets are around. This holds true no matter when and where you use AA.

Even in survival. You can't really FORCE AA to aim at the target you want, IF to many targets are around. You basically just start snapping around.

Theres NO elitist BULLsh*t being posted. Just telling it how it is.

Manual aim is simply a part of GTA, even in PURE auto aim. If you can't spend a second to manually aim because so many targets are around. Then deal with the lock on having a mind of its own. Thats when AA becomes a problem, when you have to many targets and can't focus on ONE and that holds true in all games with AA..

I jumped into fa lobbies the other day and I'll tell you it was a lonely experience no vips, jets, griefers, nothing. Unfortunately aa lobbies are where 'it's' at I'm afraid.

I jumped into a empty AA lobby last night. Actually 5 of them.. OMG!!!

Seriously... im not even talking about free aim lobbies. And i always laugh peoples stories about an 'empty' .lobby. All aim modes have packed lobbies, connection issues and empty lobbies.

IM taking about manually aiming. Which you can do in AA.

Funny.. i always avoid the cops by simply moving around. I never suicide.

I know.. moving is complicated. So many choices... theres left, right.. up.. down and vehicles to use.

Its just much easier to sit there infront of 20 cops and shoot at a player and then kill yourself every 5 seconds. That is a the gold standard, its what GTA is all about... LOL

I have no idea what are you talking about. You aim at what you want, Rockstar has nothing to do with it. If you prioritize cops then you can only blame yourself. It's really not hard at all to see who is a player and who is a cop.
