I had some time to kill yesterday and noticed an AFK guy in our job.

Vote freemode and the culprit will most likely end up in your session. As we all know these people are idiotic and don't turn passive on. I managed to kill the afk guy 50+ times and sent muggers after him until he was at 0 cash.

So my advice, vote free roam, mug and kill. I sent him a thank you message for the free cash. He sent me a message back to inform me that he reported me to rockstar for griefing. :)

I don't know who's the idiot in this thread: the AFK or Mister "Omg I'm so cool because I killed him and got free money".

Too much skill, really. My life has no meaning after I read this story of yours.

Ha, yeah if we were in the city area I probably wouldn't have bothered. But we were in the desert so it made it very easy.

I will do the same to a certain extent. If they go AFK for a couple missions, kill them twice. 3 missions afk, your dead 3 times. Satisfaction

The thing that annoys me is those that kill AFK players during missions thinking they're serving justice. All you're doing is using up our team lives and the guy can just watch us do stuff instead of staring at the She Nails store during LS Connection. I gave up on AFK players, instead opting to text my teammates to let them know and ask them to kick the AFK player. Sometimes they'll do it, other times they'll ignore it. I had the Lost van during a Trevor mission and refused to deliver it until an AFK player got kicked. My teammates didn't do it at first but after 3 minutes of sitting still and honking my horn (as I had sent a text earlier), they decided to kick him. I knew I was a bitch for doing that (making them wait, we were in there for a loooong 5 minutes) so I stuck with them afterwards and did the most I could. Made a good 120K before leaving them - lower levels so I'm sure they were pretty happy having me do much of the work. Lesson learned: support those that actually play well and you'll be nicely rewarded.

Yup, I'll do all in my power to get rid of them. If there is some disastrous mishap and everyone else dies, then it's up to them. And they will be wanking somewhere, eating or doing whatever they do when not going what they should be doing.

How long is the cool down on the mugger? Can't have got much money.

10 minutes. I sat there for vengeance and justice for more time than I care to admit.

or you can just run them over/chop them with heli blades and then kick them.

if theyre the type to rig their controller and walk in circles, i just leave the mission so they can get their exercise for hours on end :)

Then you mugged them a few times spending like half an hour on all this. Well I would get bored after about 5 minutes but you bumped your k/d & got your revenge, so well done what ever makes you happy.

I know those AFK players are AFK for the sole reason of making us do all the work because they happen to go on the controller only when I try to run them down with my car. They're clearly just sitting their behind the screen doing whatever they're doing.

I've got over AFKers. If that's what they wanna do that's fine by me. More people in the mission = more money for me.

Afk players don't bother me nor do I encounter them much either. I've gone afk when making a quick cheese sandwich or even fallen asleep. The player might have an unexpected phone call or have a jahova's witness at the door. If it happens after 2 missions then it's not unreasonable to kick them though.

He sent me a message back to inform me that he reported me to rockstar for griefing. :)

You need about 20 griefing reports a day if you are a clean player just to get you in badsport. Guy was wasting his time on that.

I as a billionaire in GTA, do it like this when people idle in missions.

Idling on ground-Run them over with the Insurgent.

Idling while on higher object - Airstrike, throw it near them and it will blow them away

In expensive vehicle idling - Airstrike again.

'When airstriking, just throw the flare 8ft from them to make sure you don't pay insurance.' It will blow them up for sure.

I also handle mission Kuruma asshats with Airstrike. Wrestle them with the Insurgent into submission. Once you got them in a hold call for a airstrike and throw the flare next to yourself. Your Insurgent will survive, however the Kuruma will be blown to bits by the first of strikes along with the guy in it.

AFK contact mission hosts are probably the worst. They select a mission that only requires two players, set auto-invite to on and then go AFK. When you join that mission it automatically starts and the host just sits there and waits for you to grind them the cash. It's stupid behaviour and I don't think they really care what happens, just hoping when they return after their 'break' they'll be 50k richer or something. I don't think AFK players have any right to complain when they get spawn killed in freemode for doing this.

Killing them is pointless.. they are AFK.

But mugging them is always a great move.

A lot of them sit behind their screen. As soon as you run them over, they get on the controller in an attempt to escape.

I once "failed" at killing an AFC. Tried to headshot a SandKing driver (we were in the Canyons) only for a drunken NPC rams me head-on from behind, killing me in one hit. The jackass AFC player left as soon as he saw my death.

This was during a mission?

In missions, the inactivity timer shouldn't be to kick them out, instead it should be how long they have to serve bad sport time.

So, they would serve only 5-10 minutes in bad sport as a result?

oops, sorry, I forgot to mention - it was Roofcock Dumble during "its glory" days IIRC.

Pretty sure you're losing if you have to stop missions just to get back at the guy

Why in the hell would anybody be bothered by an AFK player? I always LOVED to have AFK players in my missions. They add money and RP to the job, and most importantly, THEY'RE NOT GONNA F*CK ANYTHING UP! I was always more pissed about the idiots destroying the objective and failing the mission. Give me AFK players anytime!

i like blowing their cars up in such a way that they have to pay for it. I kill them and then finish the mission. After a while they start losing money and soon quit. works every time just pick missions that have payouts less than the value of their car. They tend to use expensive cars so people blow it up and costs them but not my method. you get the best of both worlds increased pay and rp and it annoys the afk's.
