How to prove that I owned a car?

Hi guys,

 

basically, two days ago I found a nice modded civilian car, and decided to keep it. The thing is, a friend of mine was driving my Infernus at the time. The game did apparently not like that, at it glitched four cars;

 

-My Adder(which was also involved in a glitch of its own a few months back. Now it's spoilerless), it disappeared,

-Infernus(bought the same day), also MIA,

-Fränken Stange(duplicated because of this glitch, not even in the same garage as the others),

-The civilian car(nowhere to be seen),

 

I contacted Rockstar Support, and after a few hours(and before they answered), most of my cars made it back(the Infernus and civlian car were in totally random garages, though).

The thing is, my Fränken Stange was now the missing car.

 

I have since spent my last two days contacting with the same guy, who swears that I haven't bought the car.

 

The thing is, I have already sent him pictures of it(when it was duplicated for a short period of time), told him the exact day I bought it(with an error of one day), and have now shown him a video of me still being able to purchase it ingame(which you have to unlock, yes, buying the damn car).

 

I don't know if Rockstar just stores information from only a month or two back, someone is not looking at my log, or whatever... But I am out of ideas as to how I could prove that I have owned the car. Any idea would be appreciated.

tl;dr a civilian car messed up my garages, and now I have lost 600K of timed exclusive car that support insists I never owned. Running out of ideas as to how toprove them otherwise.

 

 

 

UPDATE: This seems like the end of the road. Now he's literally just pasting the same answer.

 

SECOND UPDATE: Opened a new ticket, as the other guy didn't even bother to answer me anymore. If this doesn't work, considering a phone call.

 

Third update: the guy in charge of my new ticket and the one in charge of the old ticket are apparently coffee budies. They just"merged"both. Still being ignored.

well for that exact reason i never drive civilian cars in garage but instead go to lsc and buy a tracker. have not had the issue once.

I did that, because this cloning-car-glitch was very common the first weeks of PC. I am never letting a friend of mine drive a car if I found an interesting civilian, though.

Tell him hes a tool and open a new ticket, repeat until you get a non asshole. Its that simple, your word should be enough, let alone your extensive evidence, its only a game._ geesus.

At best they will just send you some GTA cash. Try closing the ticket and opening a new one.

 

At least you can still buy it though.

Well, seems like the guys decided at some point that it was okay to mark it as'solved'... Do I still need to close the ticket/how do I do it?

 

I remember there being an option yesterday to mark it as solved, which I thought would be'closing it'.

Don't use the online support - you may as well blend your underwear and drink it, as it will get you closer to getting your car back than they can.

 

Phone them and speak to a real person that knows what they're doing and it'll be sorted. There aren't words to describe how insultingly poor their online support is.

I was finishing my new ticket when I read your suggestion... Might as well try it if this doesn't work.

 

Also thinking about contacting other speaking supports(german and spanish), if neither the second ticket nor the phone call solve anything.

unfortunately you won't get any help from Rockstar Support on that subject.

 

I had an issue about a year ago where I could not sell my Coquette Topless. There was no sell option in LSC and Rockstar Support went as far as both possibly lying to me and accused me of cheating/hacking with no proof whatsoever (they accused me of glitching a Coquette topless that I found on the road into my garage with absolutely no proof to back up that claim - the Coquette topless was the first car I ever bought in the game). I gave them multiple things to prove that I owned the car, but never once would they listen.

 

the possible lie came about when they told me that they can't look into our records for previous personal vehicle purchases but they told another player who was having the same exact issue as me (and who I had been talking with on a support forum post) that they can look into our records for previous personal vehicle purchases. So one of us got lied to, when we brought it up in our respective support tickets Rockstar Support did everything possible to avoid answering the questions about the contradicting answers we received for the same problem as each out and from that point forward gave both of us a comple run around and the problem never got solved.

 

edit: and as far as marking the ticket as solved when the issue clearly is not solved - they do that all the time even when the issue clearly is not solved. You can re-open it by adding a response, unless they actually completely closed it, in which case you can do a follow up ticket if you want to continue to fight with them that way.

but if you aint in it for the attention and drama then just yeah, keep bugging them, eventually someone without a stick up their ass will remember its just a game and even if you were scamming them... who gives a f*ck.

Odd, I had a similar issue. My friend drove my freshly bought Osiris during an online session. Then, without a doubt, I spotted a beauty for a bike. I had to snatch it. When I drove it to LS Customs, I insured it, drove out, and heard a boom. The kill feed had my friend's name. Curious, I attempted to order my Osiris to see if it was one of the casualties in the incident. It was no where on my list. Mors had absolutely nothing as well. My friend wasn't charged for insurance fees either, but I assumed it was because he was broke.

 

While contacting R* support, I described the scenario, the outcome, and the loss. Going so far as to give an accurate expense of the incident, approximately 2,500,000, incase you were wondering. Three days after the incident, I received that amount with an additional compensation money. Didn't receive the car, but it was sufficient money to get a replacement.

 

So I guess you can ask for your money back, because that car is long gone.

That bug was on PC for a while (i had a few vehicles mess up too), its back again? :(

 

edit: I forgot to mention, they refunded me less then the value of one missing vehicle (with no upgrades). I had two that got glitched. Both were fully upgraded. :( Good luck OP.

Not going to even bother answering to Sherman, though. I am fed up with that particular ticket.

Automated responses. Close and open your ticket again.

 

I would word it way differently too. No need to ask about their servers. That is irrelevant. Be direct and to the point.

I am a loyal GTA fan and have purchased the game several times, and would like some sort of compensation to repurchase this vehicle.

f*cking useless. Rockstar support can vary from useful to just absolutely abysmal.

Much as I sympathise with the OP, does anyone else feel something went wrong somewhere when the game is called Grand Theft Auto and threads appear with titles like this?

I was(trying, at least) to be a little sarcastic there. I didn't really expect them to answer that.

 

I am taking your advice and submitting a more direct ticket, though. I always try to be very polite(sometimes too much), and I think they are not even taking me seriously because of that.

 

Submitting another ticket right now. Let's see if they paste it together with these other two or now.

Unfortunately, you'll only get the same guy. I tried this on two separate occasions and both times the same person came back and said "as was already stated blah blah blah".

I opened another ticket, got a responde in the same one as before.

No he didn't, you just misunderstood his post.

 

When the game glitched out it duplicated his car, then removed both of them completely. He did nothing.

This was a common glitch at the release of PC; two cars acting as one(if you override the garage spot, or sell one, both cars will disappear). I have already lost three cars because of that(Ruiner, my first car, a Penumbra, I think, and now my Fränken Stange).

isnt there a company outside of rockstar who can help you. in uk if service is not met youve got trading standards (not sure how that works)

Or if you drive one out of the garage, and walk back in both are gone from the garage.

George T. didn't even ask me to send him videos or pictures of my missing car. I was given extra money to repurchase my car after one email to support. Then again, my Vapid Blade was the car in question.

I feel really sorry for you. You're literally trying to get help from people who probably know very little about the game.

 

I'm pretty sure Rockstar support team is outsourced to a developing country and they're just following scripts/protocols.

 

The messages they sent you is a CS canned message that basically means they aren't going to do anything at all.
It's a long shot but try asking for a manager? That's a good step when this type of stuff happens.
Edit: Also open up another ticket, call up and do the other stuff users have suggested.
