V FOR VINEGAR: THE MULTI-LANGUAGE PROJECT

 

 

 

V for Vinegar, already standing with 1/4 of the missions in the "beta" phase ready, will also have 4 another languages (3 already confirmed with translators) to the script. This is an addition to the news that had been announced to the project.

Players from different countries will be able to play the MP in english, french, spanish*, russian and portuguese/BR.

 

*: Spanish is in the list, but since there's no translator available right now, it can be discarded if I don't find any translator to this language until the final part of development.

(still need to find someone for this one): Spanish

The translation will be made at the part 4 of creation, where the translators will receive the full script to translate while I can edit and add background sounds to the missions. Updating the development of VfV, there is a small change in the production of the MP.

 

Part 1: creation of the script (DONE)

Part 2: creation of the missions (25%)

Part 3: correction of bugs and new things being added, if necessary

Part 4: part dedicated to edit and add background sounds, and translation to the other languages.

 

After everything is ready, project will be obviously released. A release date can only be created after at least 50% of the part 4 is ready.

@ACH_GAMES and MooMooMiLK: I'm glad you guys proposed to translate the pack to spanish, but I already have someone in mind. But thank you, it's an honor to have you guys wanting to be part of the project. Maybe in my next projects. Don't forget giving your feedback when you play it. It's really important for me.

@Platinum Card and @Aflien: I'm glad you guys liked the concept. Now to the pack... waiting for your feedback. xD

 

EDIT: I advice for those who downloaded the pack and are having problems with missions crashing to go to the main page and download the pack again. The crashes are resolved now. Just a Notepad++ bug. I'm sorry if you had this problem and have a nice experience playing the rest of the MP.

the cab gets stuck at the traffic light near the the line of police cars. I exited the cab and tried walking to see if I'd run into a check point but I didn't. I'm starting to think that something's getting it off route.

Took me some time, but I played through whole thing. So here's my opinion:

 

This is a masterpiece. Just amazing. It truly feels like a different game. Its like a movie.

This might just be the best MP ever created using DYOM platform.

Use of object bring out a whole new dimension to the existing map.

Almost everything is on point. From objects, pickups, objectives and everything else.

I'm not much of a fan for post disaster adventure games, but this got be binge playing.

It deserves to be pinned on the forum/mod site. Everyone should give it a try.

 

One thing I really don't like is the color in mission names. I find it pretty annoying unable to see what mission I'm picking.

For my taste, couple of missions were pretty hard. (I suck at stealth). If you are like a challenge this is the MP for you.

Last university mission (no,3 is believe) had a little buggy walk down the stairs.

My final considerations and the explanation about the story.

 

For those who haven't played the entire pack yet, spoiler alert.

 

 

 

First of all, I would like to thank you who has spent much of your time playing V for Vinegar in the last few days. It's an honor to be able to bring together so many designers of our commuity to play my MP. I hope you had the best experience, which is what I tried to give you this past year, creating and editing each line of dialogue, every single detail on the scene to provide you with a fantastic gameplay along with a charming story.

For all those who paid attention, you realized that V for Vinegar is a MP that intends to make you think. Think not only when you need to solve puzzles or going through multiple enemies with just a knife and a pistol. The story of V for Vinegar, as many could see, was totally inspired by the main events of The Last of Us. However, they are different stories with different characters. Yuji is a man who shows coldness after having spent good time as a survivor in the riots, but is a protective person. Mari is a sarcastic girl, who uses humor as a defense mechanism after having a difficult life. The fate of these two characters, who have gone through difficult losses, intersect and they begin to live together, having to get used to the qualities and defects of each other. And as the story progresses, the bond between them grows, to the point where Yuji uses the pronoun "sis" to Mari, as a reference to his dead sister, and Mari protects him against the Cartel, even if it costs her life. However even if the bond between the two is the main focus of the story, the theme created with it is another:

 

JUSTICE

 

In the epilogue dialogues, Yuji explains to Mari that people are naturally selfish, and uses the example of the riots, which began only after many people suffered losses in the tragedy of the Alhambra club and became angry and rioted. That is, they only seek justice when something happens to them, but when they are seeing injustice before their eyes, they do nothing. This is the reality of the world out here. And that's what V for Vinegar tries to show, using Yuji's protectionism, when he kills all Blackout members and ends all San Andreas's chances to return to normal life to his justice, his new sister, is not sacrificed , And Mari, who had suffered an accident in the last missions and lost the movement of her legs, demonstrating how things are not premeditated and how much injustice surrounds us every day.

 

"In my whole life I fought for justice and, no matter what happens, all of our days, we keep fighting for it."

 

Yuji's sentence shows how much the MP tried to show in every detail the fight for justice of the characters. The reform is treated as the justice of all. The justice that will make everyone win. However, Yuji's moral choice of rescuing Mari and continuing his justice shows the justice that exists in real life, the self-justice. Which basically every human being seeks in all the days of his life. The clear form of how Yuji explains to Mari shows us that the character is convinced that he did the right thing, and that other people who would do the same choice are also right. And that's what makes it so brilliant. Yuji is the example of all the people in the world who, right now, fight for their own justice.

 

"I feel that I could have done something for him, and for the others."

 

Mari is the representation of a person who has suffered through life and who cares for others. She believes in justice for others, even though the new brother does not. If she had been conscious, she would have agreed to donate her organs to Dan so that reform could be thought of, even if it would end her life. Even with people and life stabbing her, she feels satisfied only in doing good to the others. Mari is the opposite of self-justice.

 

Even with a long text that I think almost nobody will read, I want to show you that V for Vinegar is not just an MP with a cool design, placement of objects and charismatic characters. The story has a meaning, and tries, in the cinematographic form that is shown to you, to make the player think. And if you stayed the entire credits doing that, you did it right. This was the MP's main goal. And I believe that after this article you will understand.

 

(PS.: I left a little surprise for those who don't skip the credits after them. It's a nice way to make everyone read the names who has participated of this project and a nice way to influence them either. Thank you for playing and see you next time.)

For me when the cab hits the breaks at the cross walk, the police cars don't move. Three police cruisers are blocking a street. I waited for a while but nothing happened.

@Platinum Card: do you have any cleo mod that might disrupt the performance of dyom in gta sa? If you do, delete it and try again. It's important to run the MP in a clean game.
