Gummy
I downgraded GTA IV on Steam from 1.0.7.0 to 1.0.4.0 using this guide and I installed xliveless, when I start up the game and after the R* logo and GTA IV logo I get nothing, just a black screen, I can't start the game nor do anything. I already did the fonts and fonts_r fix but still isn't working, can anyone help?
DEALUX
Did you get the installer version of the patch or the .zip one? You messed something up during the downgrade or you are using mods. Either way you should probably start over and follow every step closely (except the ScriptHook one; if you're using that then you will configure that after you see if the game is running properly first). I messed things up myself but I managed to downgrade successfully in the end. Unless you plan to mod the game there is no reason to downgrade AFAIK. BTW, what are your specs? Gummy
I'm not having this prob anymore. Now I use the current version 1.0.7.0 (reinstalled completely) The game loads forever. I used the -nomemrestrict -norestrictions on the Steam and -nomemrestrict -norestrictions -availablevidmem 4.0 on the commandline.txt Intel Core i7 4710HQ @ 3.5GHz (8 CPUs) Nvidia GeForce GTX 860m 8 GB RAM
Girish
If you're able to get to the Main Menu and then try turning off VSync from the Graphics options. That's known to fix the loading issue.
Gummy
Still ain't working. I tested out with other commands and it works but the fps drop is unbearable. Found the right combination. What a bitch to run -availablevidmem 1.0 -availablevidmem 100 -framelimit 1 -novblank Edited January 30, 2016 by Gummy
