I would not. I have come to realize that what makes GTA V worthwhile is the modding community. Without it, it the PC version would be the same streamlined, dumbed-down, game with almost no content in Singleplayer. I can't even stand the vanilla vehicle handling and physics and certainly not the poor collision damage. To bad; this is the first time I have felt like this about GTA and I have been playing it since the start in 1997.

I really don't care for modding. I would still play with no mods because honestly I never saw the point in it. The simple fact people can abuse the system to take mods online and use it is the BIG reason why I hate mods across the board.

Single player or whatever, mods suck. No, I don't give a rats as.s on anyone elses opinion.

I agree.

Too many mods suck anyway, feel unfinished, or does not blend with the game correctly.

I don't want a car that drives 300mile/h in the game neither.

As of when a 'physics, damage and realism total conversion' mod appears, single player will be much more appealing.... Damage on everything in game is too unexaggerated, even the cars feel like they're made of stone!

i dont get why mods are used either.. I want to immerser my self in this game. I dont want to play a modded up stupid game that feels totally unreal. Plus the obvious reason that modding is fuking up multiplayer all the time.

That's why I want a mod like I suggested before I try SP. Los Santos just isn't real, true it does have quirky, wonderful things going on in it, but it all feels like an 80's action TV set more than a real world. It's just not done right.

First off, the vanilla game offer vehicles handling like reminiscent to toy cars, almost non-existant collision damage; the reason why I use mods in the first place is because GTA V is unbearable to play in its original state. It feels like playing a crossover between GTA IV and Watch Dogs.

Secondly, the Singleplayer experience offer almost nothing. With mods, I can do trucking missions, export exotic cars, buy safehouses, buy yacht's, complete hitman missions, work at car dealings, sell drugs, do drug trafficing, rob people, do vehicle export missions, do gang wars, do heists, buy a load of cars via internet, do all the random events that only was in online before, use any clothes without 'characters personality' restriction, pimp lowriders, do a variety of user-created races all over San Andreas, use spikestrips and rob CIT's, fly freely without any stupid barrier out in the ocean, drive trains... you name it, I'll add it.

The singleplayer experience actually comes to life with mods and remind me of the old days when I played San Andreas for the PS2. I would not touch GTA V anymore if it wasn't for mods.

It simply amazes me in a negative way that people still confuse hacking with modding.

Mods are a wonderful extension of a game and i wouldn't consider replaying GTA V without them, especially that GTA V, in terms of amount of content, can be considered just as a tutorial for GTA Online, anyway.

There is also not enough content in Online, and this, what is lacking, is getting added by artists in Singleplayer.

The plain idea of hating this makes me cringe.

Go figure in a thread about the single player experience all some wish to talk about is how modding hurts their multiplayer experience. :rol:

I bet the majority that voted yes don't even play single player. I am also willing to bet the majority of us actually playing single player are modders.

Modders aren't cheaters, we hate script kiddies and those who suffer from baby dick syndrome aka trolls just as much as you do. They're not just ruining your online fun, they're also ruining our offline fun with new security checks every time a new update is released. All modders simply want is to extend the life of the GTAV experience with new content. Unfortunately there is no way we can deter morons from trolling online players.

I voted Yes

I have never modded my GTA V SP and what is this about the game being bad without them, I completed the single player and thought it was a blast. Even thought about starting over and play it again soon, and if you think the controlling of the cars is uncontrollable without mods, im sorry but i just think you are really really bad at the game.

If somehow the Online Hackers/modders whatever the correct term is, if they could be contained. R* would never earn anything from online players, because everyone would just download a money mod and play with that online.

Why cant people just enjoy the game for what it is, I have done so for over 400 hours, but every F'ing time i log into an online session people are asking for modders in chat, and they respond. They openly in chat talk about how much money they need and get, I cant be the onlyone reporting this sort of behavior.

sorry about the online rant in an single player post

GTA Online is fun most of the time. Story mode is not fun at all for many reasons.

How many of those "400 hours" were spent in single player?

Be honest, did you even touch single player for more than 20 minutes last week?

I am struggling understand what can possibly compel someone not interested in modding to play GTAV single player after story completion.

didn't say i played the SP for so long, but I did complete it and thought it was really fun and that I would even play it again sometime. I even mentioned the 400 hours in context with the GTA online

You completed single player, thought it was really fun yet never touched it again proving my point that modders are the only ones still playing single player everyday after story completion.

Be honest, you will never play single player unless multiplayer is inaccessible and even then you are more likely to play another game.

There is nothing wrong about admitting that.

You are probertly right about the modders playing the SP more than most people.

BUT.. and I am hornest about this, the single player was and is fun as it is vanilla, and I am going to play it again vanilla

I want to say that I am not against modding the SP part of the game, just that I dont think it is nedded for me.

You said earlier:I am struggling understand what can possibly compel someone not interested in modding to play GTAV single player after story completion.

The answer is easy, The story, the characters, the F'ed up situations you are put into and the multiple endding.

I use mods just to enhance my gameplay experience.

I could definitely play GTAV without mods but some mods are just essentials.

It's a matter of perspective.

The singleplayer vanilla is fun for sure but only for 2 or 3 strory completion ,then it´s repetitive .Ok graphics, crusing around and cause mayhem is fun for 5 mins then what ? With mods you can create epic missions, races, become a cop (lspdfr) , fireman , do vigilante mission , install new cars weapons clothes , access to online stuff, and some crazy sh*t that you can't even imagine, literally every day there is something new to add in your game. And if you talk about online kiddies i don't care , it's an another topic . We are talking about SP here.

Clearly you have never witnessed the wonderment of the Adder monster truck.

I voted Yes, purely because GTAV is just that good of a game, but some of the mods I've installed have made it all the better. Going on a rampage on my 100% file is fun in itself, but playing as my Online character in full VIP gear with Michael, Franklin and Trevor taking up the other three seats in my tricked-out PMP600, having them taking out the cops while I concentrate on dodging the roadblocks is the sort of thing that just elevates it even further.

For the record, I'm currently enjoying playing through SP again on the Xbox One, so make of that what you will.

I won't vote.

Reason: I wouldn't play it, with or without.

After finishing the game everything feels empty. I expected it to be different, but, nah. :p

I am a Photographer both in real life and in the game and Without modding I would see no Use for GTA V PC. with the perfect blend of Graphics mods and vehicle mods this game is redefined all over again. It is so pleasing from a Visual standpoint . To produce work and then see the results is what makes it worthwhile for me. Although i wouldnt stop playing GTA V if there wasnt mods. I would be on A hell of a lot less.

I like mods, I've tried mods, but unless it's a full conversion mod then I'd much rather stick with the vanilla game. This goes for any game, not just GTA. I don't understand mods where you put a single new vehicle in the game, "Oh look here's a Blista Compact, and behind it; a Bugatti Veyron with some ugly gimmicky 'reflection' textures". Or Minecraft with a 512x512 texture pack, it looks atrocious.

To answer the question "Would you play GTA V if there was no ability to mod the game?", on behalf of the literally millions of people who pre-ordered and bought GTA V in 2013 on release to make it the fastest selling and highest grossing entertainment product of all time, where FYI; there was no modding or even any online mode, yes we will still play without mods.

That's precisely the reason why I like mods such as IVPack, because they still "feel" vanilla and a natural extension of the main game. This approach goes for all of the games I use mods with - they have to feel as if they fit in. I don't really care for real-world car models in GTA, but I wouldn't use anything else in games like RACE.

Then there are the script mods - adding a whole wealth of extra gameplay content such as new missions, side activities, races, heists, you name it. How could that ever be a bad thing?
