Nadki
So I bought like 4 of a certain car, 3 are exactly the same besides the colour scheme and the other is my crew car - the idea was to be able to have friends use the other 3 for fun, on occasion, but that didn't really work out... Oh well! I still enjoy using all 4, but mainly the crew car in a half-assed method to recruit.. The problem I face is that when doing heists, the cars just have a (2), (3) or (4) after and I never really know which I'm taking, suppose it doesn't matter but still, is there a way to perhaps legitimately alter the names so I can tell? Any feedback would be appreciated.
REXX
You can't alter the names. However, the one closest to your garage door on the right (10 car garage, looking towards the TV) will be the higher number. The farther away, the lower the number. darkgreenmeme
No on renaming. I'm not 100% on this, but the cars should be ordered by property, then the internal list in the property. You can see these lists when you call the mechanic. If you keep them in the same garage, you can arrange them from the blue marker in that garage. The internal list order should be displayed while you do this. If you set the order, you know which is which. Nadki

So the numbers only change if the cars position in the garage does? That's handy, I've attached a link to photo of my situation, pretty sure the black/red car should be (4)? Thanks for helping out. http://puu.sh/mwDCP.jpg No on renaming. I'm not 100% on this, but the cars should be ordered by property, then the internal list in the property. All 4 are stored in the same garage and unfortunately not one with 10 spaces but knowing now that the number changes with the car position, I'm more confident in picking the right one Thanks. REXX
Mmm, ok so based on the pic. They look like slots 1, 3, 5 and 6. Not entirely sure though.
DedetOS1
For 10car-garages : For the pic you posted above: Blue one is 1,Red one is
We Are Ninja
There's no way to name them. You just have to remember which car is in which slot in your garage. IIRC, the order is [back of garage] 10 5 9 4 8 3 7 2 6 1 [Front of garage (where doors are)] So, in the pic above, the five Massacros would be listed as: Massacro (Racecar) 5 Massacro (Racecar) 4 Massacro (Racecar) 3 Massacro (Racecar) 2 Massacro (Racecar) 1 If you wanted the red Massacro in back, you'd pic Massacro (Racecar) 5 If you wanted the yellow one in front, you'd pick Massacro (Racecar) 1 If you wanted the white one in the middle, you'd pick Massacro (Racecar) 3 I keep mine grouped together because of OCD, but it makes it easy to find them during heist setups and when calling the mechanic. If they're not together, picking the right one via mechanic should be easy enough, but the heist setup screen is a little different. Hope that helps... In my experience, though, with Heists it's a bit different. It usually spawns whichever version of the car it wants regardless of which number you choose. -.- Edited January 15, 2016 by We Are Ninja
StangOne50
When you choose a vehicle in heists then are listed in alphabetical order so they should be listed one after another. I think your just going to have to do some heists and memorize which is which. Calling the mechanic is different. Still you have to just memorize which slot each is in. Verstappen
The Mechanic is definitely different. I got 2 Dukes in my 6 car garage. When I call the mechanic to get my green one I have to select the upper one but when I want my green one during a heist it's Dukes (2) for some reason. while the green Dukes is in garage spot 3 and the other one in garage spot 4. dewtech
In hiests, the cars are in alphabetical order not garage, so sadly above isn't of Much use
