It won't even go five minutes without disconnecting, and if I don't stare at it constantly I'll come back to see the "unavailable" message. Downloading at less that 100 KB/s, yet it still ties up my computer so badly that it takes two minutes just to load friggin' google. Nine months after release and the idiots can't figure out to just supply download links? VPN doesn't work. Creating a new windows user helped a little, although why the username should have anything to do with download speed is beyond me. None of other fixes I've found did anything. AND, it switches between two different files, one is 5 gigs, the other 8 gigs, and I never know which one is going to start when I reopen the crap. This is ridiculous. Although I shouldn't have titled the thread "failed game", because I haven't gotten to see if the actual game is a failure or not. Blame it on the game or Rockstar but that wont fix the problem with that slow download speed. It's most likely a problem on your end. Being willing to accept that is the 1st step to getting it fixed. Good pings don't mean much if you don't have the bandwidth for the download. If 100KB/s kills your ability to use Google, you might want to look for where your bottleneck is. I've known some gamers who had rock steady low pings and couldn't download sh*t. Dude, pings of 50-60 was good like 10 years ago....................now 50-60 is slow as fug. I agree with Nomad, have not seen people having the issues you are having. So, return the game, and buy another game, and then you can go bitch on another forum about how badly that game sucks and they can say the same thing we tell you. Seemly Posted January 16, 2016 Share Posted January 16, 2016 (edited) You know, I have same problem, the solution for 5gb patch was to download it from another place, however, i am currently suffering in downloading the 900mb patch. i have same speed as you, and it's also not using full speed, i don't mind that, but when i have to keep a look for it every few min to check if it lost connection or not, well, i have problem with that. i am afraid the only way known till now is to either just go through the whole pain. or just download from other sites. (It's also sad that they had to close threads which contained links for patches, would have been useful) It's sad thing, but to be able to enjoy this game more, you need high speed connection. Lol what??? my internet package is UP TO 100mbps, do the math, thats 12.5MB/s I get that constantly when downloading from steam, took me less than 2 hours to download gta 5 Also steam was probably down in the summer to allow for more users on their servers, their peak user count is 12 million, may be more, psn/xbl struggles with a couple million and both have sh*t download speeds, Ive had both on ym internet and never got above 3mb down Edited January 20, 2016 by fraggz99 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
