Beast vs Slasher....balancing needed

My friends and I try a lot of game modes and Jobs together both Rockstar Created and User Created and are always looking for a way to have a good time an some laughs while making some money

Well Last night we hit the Beast Vs Slasher modes (rockstar) where 2 beasts with super speed and ungody health, collect the check points, and the other players are divided into teams of Assault and Heavy gunners, whose job is to stop the beasts from collecting the check points by killing them

after playing 4 or 5 of them ..we all thought that this mode needs some balancing, we all played each role in this mode, and everyone agreed that the Beast was way over powered 2 shots from the rail gun would not stop a beast we finally decided to see what it took to kill both beasts....so we joined up and the guys playing the beast just stood there.........I hit one twice with my rail gun (you only have two rounds) then another player had to finish it off with a 5 second burst from a mingun ...the second beast took the one rail gun hit open and about 10 seconds of mini gun fire coming from 2 mini guns and an assault rifle....and this with the beast just standing still however we did discover if the beast got pistol whipped twice it died

we all thought this would be a great mode if it was tweaked by maybe showing the checkpoints to all so a stratigity to stop them might be able to be planned, or maybe refill the ammo when a player died.....also the heavy armour suits only seem to further hurt the the defending teams by slowing them down even more...and didnt seem to help against the "slash' of a Beasts claws

what do you guys think?

Aren't all Adversary modes pretty unbalanced? I rarely see the "weaker" side win in any of them.

Except in Slasher, where the weaker side always win.

Sounds like another reason I will not play this mode.

Most Adversary modes introduced in GTA Online favours one side and the whole system needs work but I've ranted enough on that previously so I'll keep quiet.

It's supposed to be unballanced. All of them are unballanced.

The trick to this one is to stay in a group (or at least pair off) rather than run around tying to take the Beast down alone.

If you hit the Beast with the railgun, he will stay down long enough for another blast, and in that time you can keep him down by concentrating all your firepower at him. The Beast cannot regenerate and jump whilst you are hitting him.

I love being the Beast and seeing people wandering around on their own. Easy prey.

Yes most Adversary modes are unbalanced, but some of the others do at least give you a chance to play smarter .....like the ones involving cycles and vehicles the players on the cycles can play smarter and win

But i agree with you the slasher side has every odd stacked in there favor and have no reason not to win

with a little balancing this could be fun with a group

The First Hunter

Well dealing damage is not what the rail gun is for! It's the best for knocking down the beast!

Rpg is for burst damages and Minigun is for dealing damage overtime

But I agree it's unbalanced!

You can get to all of the check points in the Movie Studio map without even encountering slasher!

This game mode depends heavily on which area you're playing it in. It's balanced OK in more open areas. In tighter spaces it's much harder for the Slashers to win. Of the ones we tried, the one in the movie set near Del Perro was the worst - the Beasts were just running around freely jumping from roof to roof while the Slashers barely were able to shoot at them. In more open areas though, you can get up on good vantage points before the Beasts arrive, and cover the entire area pretty well, shooting them at long range with assault rifles.

The first time i played this adversary mode, i was on the slasher team. Aiming was set to freeaim... Beasts took advantage of it and ran around killing people instead of collecting the checkpoints.

Never had so much fun...

One thing I usually do is hit the beast (or at least, try to..) with a rocket from the RPG, then riddle it with bullets until it starts to get back up, then I would unload another rocket and repeat. It would be either the second rocket or the riddling with bullets that would kill the beast. (But only when the beast was charging at me.)

If the beast team was more focused on collecting checkpoints, though, I don't think I'd stand much of a chance.

It's fun to play and I've lost and won as both the beast and slasher but I will always prefer the original slasher adversary mode.

I agree with the OP. It's very unbalanced and the hunting team (slasher) can get slaughtered while the beasts leap around from checkpoint to checkpoint. Fun if you're the beast, not so fun if you're the slasher. A pile of crap IMO and nowhere near as good as the other adversary modes ('Running Back' aside).

I have never, ever, seen the Beasts win.

Adversary modes dont need any balancing. They are supposed to heavily favor one side. That is the entire point behind the mode.

Idk maybe 20. I think it comes down to the player skill level on both teams.

Wrong matey, . Adversary modes should in no way "heavily favour" one side, and they definitely DO NOT in most of the game modes. Check your facts.

In 'Keep The Pace' everyone gets exactly the same car and has to drive the course well and not go under a certain speed.

In 'Offence/Defence' one person on the two-man team gets a lowrider, the other player an armoured car, but all teams are exactly even.

In 'Relay', well it's a relay between various teams of two players, all the same.

In 'Extraction', one side is the hit-squad who has to take out the 'target', but the target has their team of bodyguards, so it's pretty even.

In 'Running' back it's an even groups of players.

In 'Every Bullet Counts' everyone has the same limited amount of weapons.

In 'Cross The Line' it's equal teams.

In 'Hunting Pack' you get your team of defending bodyguard cars, so it's pretty even too.

In 'Come Out To Play', you're the runner, sure, but you're really heavily armed in comparison the chasers, so it's still quite well balanced.

In 'Siege Mentality' it's kind of the same. You're on your own against the pack, but you're again heavily armed, so it balances out.

So perhaps you're thinking 'Hasta La Vista', which I agree, is heavily balanced on the favour of the chasers.

Or the original 'Slasher' where having the shotgun and hunting down people with torches is advantageous.

But that's just a few examples of over/underbalancing, and definitely not the rule.

The Beast vs. Slasher mode is the worst of the bunch IMO, and at certain places like Del Perro Pier it's mayhem on the hunting (slasher) side. The beast can run riot.

As the beast health regenerates quickly. I just run off and wait.
