I know most of us are tired of dealing with modders in god mode and blowing up lobbies and you may think R* doesn't care....

Well, thought you all should know that another ban wave happened yesterday. So they seem to be catching on and throwing out banwaves more frequently. Cheers.

Exactly. When they do the banwaves all they do is ban the players but don't do anything to stop them from making new accounts and don't put anything into place to stop/block the mods/exploits that the cheaters abuse allowing it to continue.

Meh, useless. Modders arise from their ashes like phoenix. I remember some games adding some kind of punishment in game to the cheaters/modders, so it would be cool in my opinion. If they keep on modding even after getting banned, let's humiliate 'em with their own game.

My exact thoughts. They'll affect the average and casual player that have "cheated", not hardcore modders and hackers. These little "ban waves" do nothing.

Things like godmode, aimbot or teleport can't be countered with ban "waves". You need teams of people ready to investigate reports and act on that sort of cheating. Otherwise these people ruin sessions for days or weeks unchecked.

 

The only thing banwaves deter is money cheating. Of course Rockstar would care about that the most.

its all in the ToS. you try mod/hack/douchebag the system you get publicly shamed. you keep doing it you start getting fined. just play the damn game. if you cant do it without all that extra crap then move on to something else. at the very least, dont pretend you are innocent when its obvious you and all your friends in the lobby have modded accounts and are trying to kill other players from under the map glitch spots.

Actions this far hasn't been enough, but I'm glad about everything they do. Perma-bans, taking everything from them, bad-sport for really extended periods, all of these could be used. But i think that those mod menus use game code in a way that makes it near impossible to detect automatically.

This is rockstar all over , the game has serious connectio/server problems , problems related to particular consoles , lag issues and many more that are resulting in delivering a very very frustrating experience most of the time , f*ck modders , God moders for now and deal with the part of the game you are responsible for .... Good job of burying Your heads on the sand .Jesus they won't even acknowledge these problems are ruining a game people waited years to play ,if we can programme a a space probe to travel millions of miles through space and land on another planet surly the skills exist to to make a f*ckin computer game to to run properly

Acknowledging the connection issues relating to the whole peer to peer set-up would only be solved by using dedicated game servers, however this would require a re-write of a lot of the game. That, understandably, ain't gonna happen.

 

Also, comparing a space probe to a video game - only relevant if the same people did the programming for both. Bit over dramatic.

I think R* might have realised some time ago that even a good percentage of modders/glitchers/hackers are likely to spend money in the game with this game model they created....so better have an income than no income from these groups

That would explain the soft approach along the years about dealing with them
