Mister Pink
Has anyone been playing this? Picked it up for 19 euros on Xbox marketplace. It's the space-game I've been looking for. It's fun traversing this huge map. Everything seem so fluid and it's just beautiful to look at. Steam description "Rebel Galaxy is a swashbuckling space adventure, with action-packed combat, exploration, discovery, trade, and “negotiation” with the outlandish denizens at the edge of the known universe." Coin
Have played and finished it (at least the main story). I'd I had to describe it in a single sentence I'd probably opt for, "It's like Sid Meier's Pirates! but in space". Considering the dev team is only 2 strong, it is a commendable effort and a lot of the mechanics are enjoyable. The game is not without issue however; the devs clearly have a background in RPGs and the game is incredibly grindy. There's nothing wrong with a lot of grind per say but you really need a wealth of content to match it. Definitely worth picking up in a sale though, especially if you're looking for something a little more casual and less serious than other space sims like Elite: Dangerous. Mister Pink
Yes, good points although I haven't put many hours in yet. I don't expect to put long hours in at a time but play it more casually with an hour here and there. I don't have experience with games like these but for someone like me who wanted a good introduction to good space/travel/exploration games, I think this one is a great introduction for gamers that might be looking for a new experience. Coin
I'm guessing you nabbed it on console (Xbox One if I remember correctly?) Re: The grind, it's mostly a case of trying to earn money. Between upgrading your ship components and upgrading to new ships, it really adds up. I ended up save editing at two different points to grab the ships I wanted and still ended up with about 26 hours in my first playthrough. On the other hand, it's viable (apparently) to stick to the starter (or one of the next tier up) ship and just upgrade components as you go along; money comes a lot easier at the end. Mister Pink
Yes, that's right Yes, I actually like the one that's one tier up. Seems like a good solid all-rounder like the default ship but with increased functionality/stats. I don't think I'll really try bother ship-hopping. The next purchase shall be the ship I finish the game with. RUBBΣR░J♢HNNY (スオッ)
