Cool finding! How did you find that the bike is on the roof?

Btw, I have problems with H/FP/PP Barracks OL. My taxis are despawning too. Also I can't see any traffic on the streets to find one. @RationalPsycho, where did you find your taxi?

Well, as you know, finding things doesn't quite work that way  How should I describe it... I first found about this Ventoso and its spawn coordinates in the script. Recently, I read an older post of Bender.'s saying that the Ventoso is generated in the second cutscene inside the Mall, but he couldn't find it. Neither could I. Then I suddenly asked myself the question "what if it remains a mission-important vehicle until the mission is finished"? And, having gathered enough experience about marked vehicles in LCS (marked, mission-important and owned by script is basically one and the same), I assumed that it must have fallen through grey hell and respawned back on land, so I started to mess around for a bit; I used a helicopter to glitch my way into the underworld, found the Mall interior

xGiEwLI.jpg

and kept going down to see where exactly I spawn. After taking off, I accidentally noticed something unusual; a BMX on the roof. It was the one that starts "Mashin' Up The Mall" being teleported on the roof above its spawn point - the exact same as the Ventoso's. I went inside the Mall, hopped on the BMX, got back outside, and found two BMX on the roof. I memorized the observation. Today, I made the connection and asked "what if... FUKKEN' VENTOSO?!" and looked into the mission itself to see if I can find the bike, and I did :O

And this is how things are generally discovered; researching, observing, coming up with ideas, asking the "what if" question, and putting the ideas to the test. Or sometimes by accident. This discovery had a bit of everything :pp

About the Taxi for the Barracks OL, well, I found it on the street, driven by a non-player character, and it happened to be marked (so was the one Lennart - found), so it didn't disappear. Parked ones are never marked though, and there is no known consistent way to mark the ones driven by NPCs, so you have to be lucky. If you wait in front of the bridge for a while, chances are you'll find one. Don't take my word for it though. In this game, Taxis and Cabbies are very weird; they can't be left in memory, but can somehow be marked. Marked ones can be stored in garages, but are unmarked afterwards. This is also the case on PS2. No idea what's going on, really, so I can't help you much. If one has been marked before starting "From Zero to Hero", it might pass by as you wait on the bridge.

By the way:

Thanks for the credit ;)

Good find! Since it's Heavy, it's one of a kind and interesting it's so basic and can pass to get it and no OM0.

I'm sure SpriteFan274 will add it in...

Apologies for double-posting

You can do that as long as 1 Day has passed, at least for these Guide Topics. But as you can see, 3 Weeks have passed, which is much longer, thus double posting isn't an issue...

Forbes' Ventoso is unique or not? Too many times I've seen mention of him, but I still do not understand whether he is different from the usual.

And in general - I would like to understand the essence of the uniqueness of UH. Is it a flag that changes the manageability (and for each transport it is specific) or is it a numerical parameter assigned to the transport?

To think this Ventoso was so simple all along :D Nice job hiding that one, Rockstar :^:

Oh, by the way, on PS2, although I haven't checked the mission, when I entered the Mall, after exiting it, I saw the BMX fall down from the roof, whereas on PSP, it always remains on top, so there is a slight chance the Ventoso might not be waiting on the roof. If it's not, then look around the area for a bit, and chances are you'll find it.

It is a flag that sets the vehicle's handling; SET_CAR_TRACTION. You'll find the command in the LCS script as 0428, which pertains to "improve_handling". The VCS script doesn't say anything, but the flag is assigned as 0290. It is always accompanied by a multiplier. All vehicles technically have it, and the standard (the ones you find in traffic for example) is 1.0. If you see no "improve_handling" command in the script, no changes are made, so the value of the vehicle in question remains 1.0, as far as handling is concerned. If you see 1.0 multiplier in the script, handling is reset.

Now, the value is tweaked by the usage of the "improve_handling" command in some instances, usually to 2.0, in which case the vehicle's traction is supposedly doubled, but not always. For example, the Ventoso Forbes drives has an "improve_handling" value of 1.8, which is a bit lower than the one generated outside the bar in the same mission (2.0), so it handles slightly worse than the Ventoso given to you as a means of chasing him, hence its absence from the guide. The Ventoso from "Brawn of the Dead" has a multiplier of 1.5, which means it handles even worse than Forbes', but still better than a normal one (improve_handling = 1.0). The PCJ-600 from the races has a multiplier of either 1.1, 1.25 or 1.3, meaning that it handles slightly better than a regular one, so the difference is kinda hard to notice, but still there. The railshooter Freeway and Angel in LCS have a multiplier of 1.8, and while not 2.0, they still handle much better than their normal counterparts. The only interesting exception is the Faggiot from "Scooter Shooter", which has a value of 0.75, the only one lower than 1.0, so this means it actually handles WORSE than a standard Faggiot.

The weird thing is, this flag only seems to affect bikes in practice. You can alter a car's multiplier all you want, but when you drive it , you'll notice no difference whatsoever. For example, the opponents' Stinger, Cheetah, Infernus from the races and the Quad from "When Funday Comes" all have an "improve_handling" multiplier of either 1.1. 1.25 or 1.3, a Cuban Hermes from "Nice Package" has a value of 1.8, the Barracks OL from "Truck Stop" has a value of 1.1, a Quad from "Unfriendly Competition" has 2.0, but their handling is not affected at all, because Rockstar programming. In LCS, well, the Heavy Stinger, Bobcat, Patriot, Mr Whoopee and Cartel Cruiser from the railshooter missions all have a value of 1.8, the Yankee from "A Volatile Situation", the Triad Fish Vans from "The Trouble With Triads", the opponents' RC Bandit and the Trashmaster during "Trash Dash" have a multiplier of 2.0, but they are no different in practice.

This "improve_handling" property should NOT be confused with the Heavy property. Heavy vehicles tend to handle better than normal ones, but this has nothing to do with "improve_handling", or UH, as we call it here. For instance, you'll notice that the Heavy Stinger handles better than a normal one, so you'll compare it to ANOTHER Heavy Stinger with its "improve_handling" multiplier set to 1.0 (convert one with "A Volatile Situation"), in which case you'll notice no difference at all.

Told ya' guys the bike spawn in mission, and its somewhere above you.

When? I did read an older post of yours where you give information about the Ventoso, but as far as I can remember, you were unable to find it. Did you actually obtain the scooter and your post went unnoticed the entire time?

How come the PCJ-600 has different Multipliers? I have these Bikes and I actually notice a BIG difference. The difference is noticeable, but nothing like 2.0. But you can DEFINITELY feel something is not right with these. If that would of been the case in LCS with the FP/PP/EC Bikes also being UH, I would of obtained them in their ultimate form, but for my current LCS Saves, I settled with EC Only for those Bikes instead of FP/PP/EC. But if they were UH, I would of wanted the whole package. In the past for old Saves I got those Bikes and to me, they are still some of the hardest and most boring Vehicles in all of LCS all for a basic FP Property as PP can be repeated at any time for them. While in VCS, they are again rather useless, but I still like the fact they have that UH Property to them...

Also do you know WHICH Bikes have 1.3 or something, the highest? I swear my Bikes in VCS feel a bit different to one another and I obtained 2 of these...

Obviously, a single PCJ-600 can't have all three multipliers at once. According to the script, their "improve_handling" value is $5718. Nick007J once explained that in the races, $5718 means either 1.1, 1.25 or 1.3:

http://gtaforums.com/topic/838112-gta-vcs-special-vehicle-guide/?p=1069575411

However, it's still unknown which one is which and when.

This attracted my interest, so I obtained all three bikes from the exact same race (the one closest to Sunshine Autos). I barely noticed any difference between them though. I also obtained some from different races, and I think one of them handled ever-so-slightly worse than the initial three. But it could just have been the placebo effect. And to be honest, it's way too hard to actually notice a difference between 1.25 and 1.3, or even 1.1 in practice, no matter how much driving experience you have. The only valid confirmation at this point is from the script and the experts who can read it.

According to the script, these multipliers are applied when the cars spawn. On race 1 the AI cars will have 1.25, on races 2, 4, 8 and 9 they'll have 1.1 and the other races will have 1.3

Great work on finding the H/UH/WP Ventoso! The normal UH Ventoso is not inferior because of the changed multiplier obviously. Though, I would love to see a Video on how it's obtained exactly with pass and add the Video into the Guide.

The H/UH/WP Ventoso is already in the Guide and explained.

Woah, Powdinet is better than Nick007J :O

According to the script, these multipliers are applied when the cars spawn. On race 1 the AI cars will have 1.25, on races 2, 4, 8 and 9 they'll have 1.1 and the other races will have 1.3

This matches my observations (I'm a good driver :D). I initially obtained the PCJ-600 from race 3 (all three were identical), and then compared them to the bikes from other races. The ones I got from race 8 did handle slightly worse, and something was a tiny little bit off with the ones from race 1 (but were still better than the race 8 bikes). The rest was identical to the initial 3.

So, to recap, here is a list of races with the type of vehicle they require, as well as the traction multiplier assigned to them:

1) Bike (1.25)
2) Car (1.1)
3) Bike (1.3)
4) Car (1.1)
5) Bike (1.3)
6) Car (1.3)
7) Bike (1.3)
8) Bike (1.1)
9) Car (1.1)
Since races 2, 4, 6 and 9 require a car, they can be written off, as the multiplier has no effect on cars. And, to answer the question once and for all, the ideal races to get your PCJ-600 from are 3 (Port Sports - the one closest to Sunshine Autos, as well as a garage, so the most recommended one), 5 (Cuban Wheels) and 7 (High Stakes Highway).
EDIT: zazaza691 recently made a video translating the post I made explaining the PSP garage bug in Russian. I'll leave this here for Russian speakers:
EDIT 2: Finally, H/UH Ventoso video is here. Courtesy of zazaza691:
You didn't need to go all the way to the stadium to fetch a helicopter; the VCPD Maverick is nearby :pp
Also, how was the bike NOT deleted when you drove into the final marker? My vehicles do! Whatever... :/

If anyone cares, I went back to killing the game again and trying to get my hands on the unobtainable vehicles. While messing around "Farewell To Arms" for the FP/EP/DP Mule, I accidentally ended up with the FP/EP Benson. I duped the mission with itself, passed it, and when I gained movement on the helipad, I saw the duplicate leftover waiting for me at the gate. However, I can NOT do it again for f*ck's sake  The game is always softlocked with the Armadillo endlessly flying around the first gate! The mission won't progress further. One thing I noticed was some invisible and immobile Gang Ranchers, with only the passengers being visible when approached from a certain angle, and I think this has to do with the mission softlocking, but I'm not sure what exactly is the cause and how to get around it :facedesk:

Another interesting thing was the Mule itself. I duped the van, destroyed the scripted one for the mission to progress, and the leftover remained until the very end. I could tell by the red marker. Also, the Flatbed rammed it out of the way when passing by, so this confirms its position is not frozen. After passing the duped mission, the red marker rapidly disappeared, which makes me think; what if we use a padlock icon to teleport near the Mule right after passing the mission? Will it remain there for us to take? :O Unfortunately, no purchase icon exists around that area on PSP, so I can't test it anytime soon. On PS2, there are two; the BP/PP Sanchez and the Marquis, so if we manage to dupe and pass the damn mission, the FP/EP/DP Mule has a very small chance of being obtainable.

Also, in the same mission, the vehicles with immunities are:

H/FP/EP/PP/TD/EC Flatbed

FP/EP/DP Mule

FP/EP Benson (the ones guarding the gates)

FP/EP car $5666 ??? Gang Rancher? :dontgetit: It is often referred to as "unknown_check", and is put in various places, including ones no other scripted vehicle spawns or passes by, so this must be it.

Interesting that you somehow obtained the EP/FP Benson. Was that even in the Script at all? I thought only the Mule and Flatbed were the only Special Vehicles in this Mission? Is the Benson not in the Script like the Jetmax or something?

I saw the Ventoso Video...I'd obtain it in my 7th Save no doubt and discard one of the random EC Black Vehicles I would of obtained. Mainly for the H/WP Property(s) as UH is duplicate Property and LOWER than The Bum Deal Ventoso, including Forbes' Ventoso.

Fun fact: Did you know that the BMX can be "destroyed" in VCS? No kidding; even though it doesn't traditionally catch fire, blow up or undergo any visual change, if it takes enough damage, it will bounce off, fall down, and you will be unable to hop on it again. If you push it to a garage, it will vanish, just like a wreck would do :pp

Benson:

It was there the entire time, but I never paid much attention, so I confused it with the Flatbed. As for obtaining this thing, well, I wouldn't exactly call it obtainable yet, since it is like winning the f*cking lottery at this point. I got it once, and that's it. I tried it countless more times, and the game always softlocks at the gate :die:

So this is the same "unknown_check" as in "Steal the Deal" (is_vehicle_a_helicopter). The only scripted helicopter in "Farewell To Arms" is the Armadillo, so it becomes FP/EP in some instances, most likely when you're instructed to destroy the roadblock (FP/EP/DP Mule) and guard the airport gates. What do you know; a FP/EP Armadillo. By the looks of it, it doesn't look like it's going to be obtainable anytime soon, and we can convert a normal one to AP anyway.

Also, thanks to Bender., the third AP car in "So Long Schlong" is most likely confirmed to be the Comet. Bender. somehow managed to dupe the car itself when it first appears, and the duplicate didn't take any damage when falling to the ground. Unfortunately, the AP/EC Comet is added to the list of unobtainable vehicles, as there is no way to keep it after the cutscene.

A word on the unique variation of the Barracks OL with ammo boxes. Well, it's not exactly a variation. It's a different model ID altogether, much like the Manana and the Corpse in III; same name, nearly identical geometry and performance, but separate cars. In this case, the regular Barracks OL is known in the internal game files as "barracks", and the one with the ammo boxes is known as "ammotruk". This is also true for LCS. In VCS, there is one more way to tell them apart on the PSP version; the colour - the Barracks OL appears black, and the Ammotruck appears army green, just like it should. Another interesting thing is that the ammo boxes are part of the model in LCS, but in VCS, they count as extras, a variation of the Ammotruck if you wish (or a variation of a variation of the Barracks OL :pp), meaning that the Ammotruck theoretically can be NE, which makes it visually identical to the Barracks OL on PS2, but not on PSP due to the colour difference. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to spawn the Ammotruck as NE so far :(

Finally, let's revisit our friend AP car [email protected] with Health set to 1 million and document it properly. This sexy car appears in various missions, and its batch of code is pretty much identical throughout the script. Below is a complete list of missions where it supposedly exists:

E_RE (Loan Shark)

PHI_A4 (Marked Men)

MAR_A1 (Shakedown)

MAR_A2 (Fear the Repo)

MAR_A4 (O, Brothel, Where Art Thou?)

LOU_A3 (D.I.V.O.R.C.E.)

MEN_C3 (Unfriendly Competition)*

REN_C1 (Accidents Will Happen)*

REN_C2 (The Colonel's Coke)**

LAN_C10 (Light My Pyre)*

*In these missions, AP vehicles already exist, namely the Yola, Maverick, Jetmax and Biker Angel, but they are identified as "car $5704", "car $5813", "car $5562" and "car $5542" respectively. Although "car $5704" and "car $5542" (Yola and Biker Angel) do have their separate code that makes them AP, "car $5813" and "car $5562" (Maverick and Jetmax) do not. Only AP car [email protected] in "Accidents Will Happen" and "The Colonel's Coke".

**Towards the end of the mission, car [email protected] becomes AP again, and this doesn't exactly look like dead code. Indeed, the script creates explosions in a location, which does match the mission's description. After passing "The Colonel's Coke" whilst skipping the final cutscene, an AP Jetmax is waiting right behind you, which was apparently not included in the mission cleanup list for one reason or another. During the mission, "car $5562" (Jetmax) is H/EP.

I thought this was already established....Steal the Deal has the AP Helicopter Conversion...Is there even a Benson in Steal the Deal? That's in Farewell to Arms like the Armadillo and Mule...

Found from Ash's Post in the VCS 10th Year Anniversary Topic... VCS Carcols.dat... Let's get to work people... HUGE Thanks to Ash_735 as this will help distinguish EC stuff in VCS.

This also confirms those AP/EC2 Sentinel XSs being always Black Color 2, thus making those AP ones EC2.

ALL Sentinel XS's that don't have the BLACK Bars on the back are EC2. However, since visible, I just still call the entire Vehicle EC. I am also still wondering if the Body Colors for the So Long Schlong AP Sentinel XS's are EC. Usually, like the FP/EC Sentinel XS, the Body Color is the SAME AS the EC2 Bars on the back. Like, as a WHOLE that Vehicle is special not only for the FP Property, but the ENTIRE Vehicle is White. If it were JUST the Body, I actually think it might be something that spawns in traffic, but WITH the White Bars, that is what makes it very special...

Those 2 XS's from So Long Schlong will be obtained in my next, 7th Save File when I get to it mainly for the EC's and can pass to get BOTH. No need to get them in AP form with Mission Failure, imo. I already have one and made it Black with In the Air Tonight. In that case, the EC2 is gone and replaced with Black Bars, but the main Body Color of Black is special, of course...

Cool! And the XS in "Where it Hurts Most?" Someone said that may possibly be EC a long time ago, but nobody confirmed it yet...

@Nick007J Hmm, I see you're using a different script than mine. The one I have (PSP, not sure which regional version) has four vehicles with immunities in "Farewell To Arms": [email protected], $5401, $5660 and $5666. Car [email protected] is the Flatbed, $5660 is the Mule, and either $5401 or $5666 is the Benson. There is one more FP/EP vehicle in this mission, and if it's not the Gang Rancher, it's most likely the Armadillo, as it has coordinates where no other vehicles spawn, like in front of the bridge near the 101 Bayshore Avenue safehouse (very close to the Mule roadblock's spawn location), and near the airport gate (the one closest to the metal detectors).

As for the two Sentinel XS from "So Long Schlong", the white one is most likely full EC, like Bender. said:

fk81Ecw.jpg

In game, the two blue ones look exactly identical to me (apart from the bars on the rear window of course). However, the hood of the white one from traffic seems ever-so-slightly brighter. In the picture, the ones from the mission seem a bit darker, but this is due to the camera angle. When I view them from a different camera angle, the normal white one still seems brighter, unlike the blue one.

Sweet! Glad those XS's in So Long Schlong have been confirmed! I will get both for sure, as well as the newly found H/UH/WP Ventoso when I do my 7th Save File...

Still need to know of the XS in "Where it Hurts Most" is EC or not, as well. I don't think it is, but worth to check so we know and can move on from it...

I also hope more is found in terms of EC Vehicles...

Quick Post... I would like to know if the EC White Comet is truly EC. When I checked it with the normal Traffic White Comet, they looked almost the same, one just had a "Light Blueish Luster" on it as far as I could remember.
