Time Trial #18 - "Calafia Way"

As this hasn't been posted yet, the new Time Trial is now up. Starting at the train bridge on Calafia Way, you go past the Lost MC Caravan Camp and follow that road round, past the Humane Labs Safehouse and finish at the foot of Mount Chiliad.

I made it first time in a T20 (even with crashes):

Good luck, PS4 users.

May the odds be forever in your favor.

Ugh last weeks one was far too stressful and I didnt know you could respawn back at the start by holding triangle... one question: Can you complete them with both characters so you get 50k twice or do you only get 50k once and then the 1k or whatever for doing it again?

Yes, if you do it on both characters, you get 50k twice

Edit: Ninja'd.

I was also wrong - thinking of daily objectives.

I completed it first time in 1:23 in a T20. It's a very easy trial for those using bikes

Just once, I'm afraid.

I'm quite sure if you complete it on both characters, you get it twice

I *may* have been thinking of Daily Objectives, but I remember one of them only working on 1 character. Have you done it on two yourself? If you can then I'm all over that from now on.

Yes it works for both characters :)

EDIT: Some other users reporting that you only get the 50k once. When I tried this initially, it was at the start of the Freemode Events update. It has since been changed :(

Last week I tried and I only got the 50k bonus once for doing the TT under par on both characters; someone else reported the same in last week's thread.

I couldn't get the $50k twice, beat the par with 2nd character and only got $1k

Da Elite Ninjah

I was waiting for this topic!

I'm at work, so this topic is my weekly time trial update.

Nice. One of my favorite roads, around the lake. This one is going to be easy! :D

Man, these are really getting easy. Going to try with my Rat Loader.

Dirt road, lots of twists and turns, I may try beating this one with my Akuma.

2nd attempt with the Akuma. Should have been the first but right near the end I slid off the road a bit and wasted a good 5 seconds correcting for it. Anyone who has done the Humane Labs elite challenge bike run will find this to be a complete cakewalk.

1:20.98 Bati, had to restart a few times cause I took corners too wide, one even to the point that my Bati ended up in the Alamo Sea, still easy run all in all

I'm wondering, and this seems like as good a place to ask these questions as any, since all time trial enthusiasts end up here:

- Do we have any indication yet whether that initial list of trials is all there will be, or will they add new ones once these run out? I know we're close to the end (fun said something about the last one being next month); I feel like they'll most likely just cue them up and start from the top after #22.

- Along the same lines, is there any clue if we'll get anything for having done them all? Not that 1.1 million GTA$ and personal satisfaction aren't enough, but a t-shirt or something would be cool. Once this is all done I will have worked nearly as hard on these as I did on beating the elite challenges. I know there's no official award/reward in the game's stats tab, but they could still do something or other.

Some additional rewards for completing all of these would be nice. Although I expect nothing. The personal achievement of having a proof on my youtube-channel for completing these all is enough for me. Interesting to see what happens after 22nd time trial...

yeah a bonus for completing them all under-par would be nice. But I've got a feeling that Rockstar haven't been tracking the progress on them. All I know is that if there's 22, the final one will be in the week of Valentine's Day <3

Rockstar have said nothing, as far as I know, but a list of all 22 trials was leaked from source files back when the feature was first added. If week 23 takes us back to the Del Perro Pier trial, then we'll know we're done.

Had a bit of a nightmare with the sharp corner at the Humane Labs hideout, other then that this one is pretty easy. First I braked on a bad spot and flew 2 or 3 meters at a height of 5 centimeters so I couldn't brake, second try a Mesa went left instead of straight while he took that shortcut... Third try I was too far right and clipped a low beam just after a bush. :/

I shortcut Stab City by jumping onto the railroad tracks, but I think that might have lost me some time.

Yeah, as a veteran of many a Humane Labs elite run, that does nothing for you. There are two definitely useful shortcuts on this run that I use anytime we attempt the elite challenge. One is a very small jump over a bend in the road just before the hideout where you pick up the Valkyrie - everyone uses that pretty much. The other one is a bend or two before that - there's a very big v-shaped turn in the road, and you can drive straight through it, downhill between some trees and then back up the other side. Executed flawlessly it will save you maybe 3 seconds (would be more if it was just a straight line, but you have to go down and then back up, and you usually catch some air on the ending which isn't too helpful).
