GTA V Re-Sized ( Not Just Another FPS improvement Mod )

Recommended Posts

neoflix

First I have to say that this mod is amazing! I played with full hd and normal textures and my game still lagged sometimes. After this mod I use full hd and very high textures without any problem. Most other settings are high too expect postfx. I just played about 1h just to see it work fine everywhere :)

I used reloaded version.

1. Install gta v reloaded (copy paste cr*cks)

2. Install 1.33 update from reloaded (copy paste cr*cks)

3. Test game if it work (it don´t like old save files so I started from scratch)

4. Download patchday10ng from here -> https://mega.nz/#F!0xcwFKBZ!yBwdbwS2IKpxzCk3fvmeZQ

5. Unzip and move it to update -> x64 -> dlcpacks

6. Install all oiv packets from this mods (x64a-x64w+both dlc)

7. Remove patchday10ng folders (in mod folder too)

8. Start game and have fun :)

I didn´t used any update oiv

Really good work, decided to try it out on my RX 480, getting an extra 8-10 FPS now, hovering around 40 with everything maxed minus AA.

Will this work with Visual V?

I would install GTA V RE-Sized first then Visual V.

That way you get the benefit of both Worlds!

GTA V RE-Sized is a great platform to build your favorite modded game on.

Sweet! Thanks for letting us and others know what your experience is.

We are always looking for video of comparison or performance to share with those unsure of the mods viability.

Any way thanks fo rthe input.

Very pleased though some are having difficulty installing the mod we are getting much needed input as to how we can avoid those issues.

Thus we have a Trouble shooting guide developing:

Trouble Shooting
Issues addressed:
1.) Error loading game after installing Mod.
2.) Error installing dlcpacks part 2.
3.) oiv package Installation failed.
1.) Error loading game after installing.
If you installed the whole Mod, including the update.oiv ( not the vanilla update.oiv ), and your game does not load or the user interface is messed up, ( can not change configurations for controls/ Social Club error ).
Be sure you have installed the asi loader from OpenIV. LAunch OpenIV and select the check mark icon in the middle upper portion of the tool.
If you did that and it is still erroring:
Look in your GTA V folder for your mods folder, then look in the update folder, ( in there ), for update.rpf and delete it.
Now your game should launch.
IF you did not successfully install a fully Modded, medimum Modded, or soft Modded update.oiv then try the "vanilla update.oiv".
If you installed directly into your game directory you will need to replace the update.rpf in your GTA V/update folder with the backup you made.
2.) Error installing dlcpacks part 2
This error is due to not having the patchday10ng installed.
Download the patchday10ng and place the folder in your update/x64/dlcpacks folder.
Download the patchday10ng here:
https.www//mega.nz/#F!0xcwFKBZ!yBwdbwS2lKpxzCk3fvmeZQ
Thanks to neoflix for realizing the error and sharing this link!
3.) oiv package Installation failed.
Make sure you are using the latest version of OpenIV ( 2.8 or higher ) in Edit mode. The defragmenting is important part of the mod.
We requested GooD-NtS to allow us to defragment via the assembly.xml and he was kind enough to make a new version of OpenIV 2.8 allowing defragmentation via the installer assembly.xml.
You used OpenIV 2.8 and have all dlcpacks installed but it fails to install.
Check your mods folder and delete the file that failed installing, ( example: x64f.oiv failed to install you delete x64f.rpf from the mods folder). Try the installer again, if it fails again you can try a couple of things:
MANUAL EDITING:
a) Check your game file you are building from.
With OpenIV in Edit mode navigate to the file that errored ( example: x64f.rpf ) and open that archive then check the .rpf files inside ( example: x64f.rpf\levels\gta5\destruction\exterior\des_apartmentblock.rpf ) check each one so you can see if they all open. If there is a corrupt file OpenIV will show an error and you will need to replace that file, ( or the whole archive ie. x64f.rpf ), for the installer to work. This should only take a short moment or so to check that all .rpf files open.
If there is a corrupt rpf file in your main ".rpf" file, ( example corrupted des_apartmentblock.rpf in the mods folder of x64f.rpf ), then we want to look and see if there is the same corruption in the Game Folder file. Use OpenIV in Edit mode and navigate to your game main folder nott he mods folder and check and see if the same. rpf fails to open. If there is a corruption you will need to replace that archive.
b) If it is not that the file is corrupted or you used the wrong version of OpenIV.
The .oiv is just a zip.
Change the name from oiv to zip, ( example x64f.rpf.oiv to x64f.rpf.zip ), and extract somewhere. Open the folder, ( example x64.rpf ), and you will see assembly.xml, icon.png and a folder named content with files in it.
The layout of our folders and files are clear as to where those files go to. That means it is identical to the game structure so it is easy to find with OpenIV and import them.
I laid the package out like this so you can see where each .rpf is edited and where the .ytd files go etc.
The most important thing is to defragment each .rpf inside the main archive then defragment the whole archive.
( example: in x64f.rpf we edited these files des_apartmentblock.rpf with C: as our main drive and we extracted the GTA V RE-Sized x64f.zip to the desktop then we would go to
C:\desktop\GTA V RE-Sized x64f\content\x64f.rpf\levels\gta5\destruction\exterior\des_apartmentblock.rpf ( this is a folder in our mod but an (.rpf) archive in the main ".rpf" archive,
( "in our example x64f.rpf\des_apartmentblock.rpf. " )
Once we imported all the files to the archive (in this example des_apartmentblock.rpf), You will defragment that .rpf ( i.e.: des_apartmentblock.rpf gets defragmented not the main archive x64f.rpf )
Defragmenting: On top right of OpenIV in Edit mode ( Be sure that you have the correct .rpf selected/highlit in the left pane of OpenIV ) then click "File" at the top left of OpenIV now select defragment.
As we move to the next .rpf replacing the files in each folder and defragmenting each .rpf you are optimizing your game structure and size of the archive.
When we have imported all files for each. rpf inside the main .rpf.
( all files in the folder "content\x64f.rpf\des_apartmentblock.rpf are moved to the des_apartmentblock.rpf location one at a time and in the corresponding rpf location.)
Then we select the main .rpf ( x64f.rpf in our example ) and of course we click the "File" on top right of OpenIV in Edit mode and select defragment option so we can finally defragment the main .rpf ( our example x64f.rpf )
what ever main archive you are working in. ( dlc.rpf, common.rpf, update.rpf, x64g.rpf etc.. )
Now the archive is ready for action, and with it in your mods folder or main game folder, you can launch the game .
If during this process any files fail then check those failing files against your "vanilla" .rpf to be sure there is not the same corruption. If there is you need to replace that .rpf file.
Or simply do not include those edits and install the others that do not fail.
Here are a few reminders/tips.
Windowed Mode will increase FPS.
Be sure you have your power options set to HIGH. ( The battery symbol at the bottom left of your desktop, right click and select HIGH POWER.)
Clear your desktop of excess files to free up more ram.
Try using gamebooster or some other tool to cut background services and free up more resources for you game.
Still not feeling faster action with your low end rig? Try the game tool included in the repsitory.
Always report to us and please be patient we have no constant internet but will address, ( or the community will address), those issues.
If required I will replace or upload necessary fixes for those who may have issues installing GTA V RE-Sized Mod.

This is AWESOME.

I've just installed the a-w packages and dlcpacks. Bit scared when I couldn't run the game but saw I haven't enabled the ASI loader.

Then I upped the texture quality from normal to high and applied more effects (post-fx, shaders high, water and reflections very high, AAx2...)

The result is I still have the game totally playable in my Sh*tty laptop with quite improved quality and graphics. No stuttering at all, a bit lower fps but still completely enjoyable.

Thank you so much for this awesome mod!!!! 5 stars.

This is nice, it boosted my FPS, but only problem is that I have glitched textures (example: road becomes grass and house tiles). I tried reinstalling it and again it's the same problem :S

How much Vram usage does this reduce?

I have 750Ti 1GB textures and shaders at high and everything else at normal and still using 980MB and bad stutter. If this can reduce Vram usage to around 880MB and still keep quality good like high setting textures than this mod is very good.

When ever I want to instal this mod, it shows me this :

untitledw5ska.png

P.S. : Is it ok if I installed this mod, then followed it with L.A. Roads and QuantV and whole new vegetation pack for my game and 5 house map and some of my favourite add-on cars?? :/:/

Don't make fun of my question, I'm looking for an answer :)

You need to have the current version of OpenIV to install this mod.

When you run the installers and they fail click on the lower left where it says " Open Installation Log" then paste it here so I can see where the failure is.

Once installed as the first mod to your game you can add many mods on top of it and have the advantage of a higher performance so the extra mods won't bog the game down. So you should be able to insert those mods, one thing I offer is that "Grass" effects performance tremendously and the vegetation pack may effect performance, but with GTA V RE-Sized will help much since all other images will be reduced. All your favorite modded cars will help too but again many modders do not consider the effect of their massive images to make their cars look fantastic, it effects the performance but with our MOd installed it will help considerably. Lastly I offer that if the only failure of the mod installation is due to the "update.rpf" that it is not necessary to use the modded update.oiv try the vanilla or simply by-pass the update. Make sure that x64a-w and the dlc packs get installed as they contain many peds, cars, signs, buildings, etc. that have been RE-Sized to optimize performance.

So in summary be sure you have the most current version of OpenIV (version 2.8 or later), install x64a.oiv through x64w.oiv plus the dlc packs. If there are failures installing click on " Open Installation Log" and copy the text then come here and paste it.

Life has been crazy with deaths in my family and moving I have not been on here for too long. Sorry for that.

I will do my best to help you get it installed.

Peace, N8Gamez.

Try replacing the update.rpf with your original and launch the game. Some have issues replacing the upate.rpf for some reason, perhaps version non-compatible.

With your old update.rpf the game should not give issues launching.

Peace, N8Gamez

Did you install it on a fresh install or a modded game?

Our mod does best as the primary mod then add others on top.

As for the graphics issue, hummm. Perhaps try replacing the update.rpf with your original and see if the issues continue to exist.

I am not sure why you're getting those error issues........

I imagine it is an issue of conflicting mods, thus I suggest installing on a clean game then build on top of our Mod. That way you get more space on your drive, better performance and an ability to add more mods than with a vanilla version of the game.

Keep me posted.

I am waiting n8gamez1 answer to my pm. If he say yes I will start hosting this mod with seedbox so you can download it faster with torrent.

About mod install, I never used anything else than those a-w packs. With modded update file it crashed. Game also crash if you have any old save file left, so check those first before reinstall.

This is a very good mod, as stated it will reduce many massive textures for lower size while virtually unnoticeable in texture degradation. In fact once installed people are able to up many graphic settings and enjoying more graphically enhanced gameplay than before installing our mod.

We are allowing Neoflix to up load it as a torrent so it can be downloaded faster in time.

That is what this mod is, replacement of textures only.

Although there are other extras like low poly car interiors add-on highway patrol system those are extras.

The files you download reduce your installed game by around 10GB!

Plus it allows you to up many graphic settings and not stutter but run better.

Download a few and try once all installed you will feel it worth the time to download.

Peace, N8Gamez.
