OysterBarron
I take it you mean oxnard? I was watching the administration stream the other afternoon on EU1 server and it was pretty manic there but that's only because of the glitch with sat nav that takes you down the single track roads instead of the 2 way one. I us ally play on EU2 because I don't like speed limits
Matty256
What wheel do you use Oyster? I'm thinking of getting one, Driving with the keyboard doesn't really do it for me.
OysterBarron
I've the g27 bud highly recommended. I remember playing the first ets with keyboard and I used to literally doze off behind the wheel and wake up with a crash into the central reservation. Since I got the steering wheel it adds so much immersion to the game once you've rebound the keys indicators and all the other functions to the wheel and gearbox buttons it adds a whole new level. I couldn't imagine playing without it now and scs have done an excellent job at actually building a simulator and intergrating steering wheel support and it's most deffently fun if you've the right equipment. Once you've installed the steering wheel software you will get force feedback even from bumps in certain places in the road. In San fransansico if unprepared driving across the tram lines will knock the steering off if you are unprepared for it. Some of my own pics Well, it's been nice, but 19000 miles later, SCS threw the W900 at me. So long my old Peterbilt. Anyway, onto what you want to see... Not for looks at all, but the American trucks all seem to have small windscreens anyway, and the longnose cabs add to the lack of visibility. That particular sun visor makes it look like you are driving while looking through a letterbox.

That particular sun visor makes it look like you are driving while looking through a letterbox. Looks pretty decent to me, like you said though, horribly impractical. It was one of the first things I changed. Haven't got a shot in the day of my modified truck, other than some randoms taken when I was capturing a clip of someone f*cking up. Might get a pic tomorrow in Oxnard, as long as the admins in mp don't get pissy about it. Best I've got for now is this I'm 50/50 on the air filter lights though. I'm a lights guy, but I don't really like it crammed with light. I sort of think the air filter lights tip my scale, but at the same time they sort of don't. Might also get rid of the hood mirrors and double mirrors. They just don't seem to be effective enough to keep, and with MP, you need all the frames you can get. Especially for Oxnard. People seem to be obsessed with the two smaller roads. Imo the 152 near Oakland is much better than the Ox. marco6158
Ye Oxnard is a mess, took me 5-6 minutes to get through just before. But I still like it, it's challenging, and you can even find some decent drivers. I have this thing for now, it's slow. TheMcSame
So apparently SCS dropped something on the blog, didn't get a notification for it though, then again, I'm not following ETS 2 on steam... I should probably go do that. Anyway... http://blog.scssoft.com/2016/02/vive-la-france.html Summary: They're showing more new things they have in the works. They're not a "one-project-at-a-time company any more" with "several new cool things under development" Major DLC expansion for ETS 2 is on the way - Will include the rest of France - The Paris region will be receiving a "total overhaul" - Changed areas which are part of the base game will still be accessible without the DLC I was expecting a bit more given the way they started the post off tbh... OysterBarron
I must admit after revisiting euro truck 2 the other week I did look at France and think why haven't they done anything to that yet?
Uncle Sikee Atric
I guess Kutchek and the Promods team will be awaiting on those developments before expanding anymore into those areas. They have already reached the Spanish Border though, so I guess a total rework of the territory will be the final result. I hope they take Kutchek's work seriously though and pay it due respect. His France map is tough to beat in terms of detail. Sweet Bellic

Uncle Sikee Atric
Also, if they are revisiting the old areas of France, does this mean they are also looking at the UK longer term?
marco6158
Uhmm, I don't know, UK is finished basically, while France is only 20% completed, it's a bit different.

Uncle Sikee Atric
Uhmm, I don't know, UK is finished basically, while France is only 20% completed, it's a bit different.UK is finished basically? No it's not.... SCS rushed to launch ETS 2 and never expected it to be the success it was, nor gain the backing it has from the manufacturers, so they reused both the UK map and the Germany map from those iterations of the simulators. The result is they're badly lacking detail and thus bland and boring, plus, the scale of the UK is incorrect, the rest of Europe is 1:19 while the UK is 1:15. Also, it's clear there are several blank areas of the UK that are clearly missing, plus Eire and Northern Ireland are hinted at planned longer term as Promods stopped development to those areas pending a prolonged SCS announcement. Plus modding from RHD areas complicated matters as the original mod set for those areas was never updated to modern standards, like it has been for the rest of Europe. It is something only now SCS has updated, with the launch of the full modding kit, but RHD is still behind and will take some further updates to finish correcting. The UK is a mess in ETS 2. I only visit it when absolutely necessary and stay away otherwise. It needs a complete rework to correct the scale issues as well, so if they plan to rework the existing areas of France in the inclusion of a new map pack, yet still make it free, theoretically a slow rework of both Germany and the UK could also happen.
