Haven't really played much ETS/ATS as i've been taking time off to deal with other things, but i learned of Operation Genoa Bridge and it hit my interest to go back to ETS, currently 2/6 for the East section and this screenshot below is my first job heading to the northern section with a large crane.

FH Tuning Pack came out a few days ago along with a small update that allows you to tune trucks a little, and with Idaho my mind tells me it could be out sometime later this month or maybe July, and for Iberia i'll assume November/December

ATS has entered the 1.38 Open Beta phase.  SCS have warned us it's very rough and ready at the mo, but we're helping them squash bugs while the majority of their team continue to work from home.

There's numerous map improvements and an update to FMOD as the key points for this Beta, but after the last few content expansions, there's nothing massive here, so it looks like this could be a precursor for the Idaho release.

The changelog is :

MAP
  • Las Vegas city revamped (I-515/I-11 interstate bypass + the whole city switched to the template road system)
  • US-191 road implemented
  • UT-56 road implemented + reskin of a little stretch of US-93 around Panaca settlement
  • CA-111 - new truckstop added
  • El Centro revamped
  • New company in Logan, UT (Plaster & Sons)
  • Reworked all truck stop gas pumps to be more realistic. More realistic dimensions and the logic of how they work
  • NM Shiprock redesigned + piece of US-491
  • Various map fixes

VEHICLES

  • Automatic transmission improved (shifting points, adaptive modes)
  • Las Vegas: New ambulance and fire truck

FEATURES

  • Visual improvement - procedural ambient occlusion generation (SSAO)
  • Route Adviser redesigned
  • Navigation ETA to the next waypoint in route adviser and in world map
  • Tobii eye-tracking presets
  • RGB color picker redesigned
    • Added RGB, HSV and HEX inputs
    • User defined color presets

SOUND

  • Update to FMOD 2.01.01
  • Fixed the retarder sound when the engine is off
  • AI - exclude the gear for trains and electric vehicles

Now ETS2 is also entering it's Open Beta, and the changes are a little more pronounced than those for ATS.

Remember these betas are very rough and ready at the moment, and we're helping bug fix while the teams continue to work from home :

MAP
  • Lille re-skin
  • Unique Truck Dealerships
  • Special Transport routes in Road to the Black Sea
    • Resita to Targu Mures
    • Istanbul to Edirne
    • Pleven to Sofia

VEHICLES

  • Automatic transmission improved (shifting points, adaptive modes)
  • Paintable chassis covers for XF Tuning Pack
  • Fixed steering deadzone
  • New tuning parts added to the FH Tuning Pack

FEATURES

  • Visual improvement - procedural ambient occlusion generation (SSAO)
  • Route Advisor redesigned
  • Navigation ETA to the next waypoint in route adviser and in world map
  • Tobii eye tracking presets
  • RGB colorpicker redesigned
    • Added RGB, HSV and hex inputs
    • Predefined color presets

SOUND
  • Update to FMOD 2.01.01
  • Individual horn sounds for each truck
  • Fixed the retarder sound when the engine is off
  • AI - exclusion of gear-shifts for trains and electric vehicles

  • Visit the famous Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve

The blog has fired up again and this time it's starting to hint at what is next for ATS....

Western Star are currently in the process of revealing their next truck, with the full release on September 29th.

But SCS has confirmed this truck is coming to the game shortly after, as in a few weeks after launch.  There's a few sneak peek pics too.

This is clearly just the daycab version, but the fact it's coming a few weeks after the official real world launch is important, SCS have been working with Western Star for some time....

The N. Bellic Man

Any news on the console front? I mean PC versions are nice and all, but it would be great if the devs would finally realize that there is so much more money to be made if they only released these games (at least) on Series X and PS5. I would probably double my playtime if that happens.

SCS look to be teasing a possible expansion to more of Eastern Europe, noticed in this specific image that there is Cyrillic text for a bank, and Russian pedestrian crossing signs.

Though according to a Latvian friend of mine, who knows quite a bunch of Cyrillic, his finger is pointing towards that this DLC could be focused on Belarus.

Colorado has been out a few weeks and now we're getting teasers to where ATS goes next.

Bison suggests it's Wyoming.

Iberia has sadly, been delayed until next year due to complications stemming to the coronavirus pandemic causing issues with developers having to work from home.

The good news however, is that cabin accessories DLC have been added to ATS, whilst owners of said DLC for ETS2 will get a free update soon (or if it is already out)

I can confirm that SCS have announced the next DLC to succeed Iberia, which is the "Heart of Russia" DLC, a possible expansion to the "Beyond the Baltic Sea" DLC released in 2018 which will result in the expansion of the country of Russia in-game.

Iberia is due for a release sometime in April.

There's been a sneaky update on the progress of Iberia.

The Steam date for release has been changed to April and SCS have also released the full content map.
