Strategy for attacking on Yacht Defense.

Just played this today first time. Come in by air, they homing missile you. Try jumping into jetski or helicopters on beach, you get sniped out before you can move the vehicle. I gave up when I noticed I was only guy attacking. What, are you supposed to get high altitude out of homing range and parachute in?

by bringing large plane then dive bombing it to the yacht ( even at cost of pilot's life ) will leave a wreckage that might irritate the owners ( might because blocking the stairs ) , provided if the wreckage landed on the yacht

Really, the piracy thing was poorly thought out, along with king of the hill. They're just spawn-trap bait waiting to happen.

I remember my first kind of the hill, over at the dam. Once I realized it was near impossible to approach the dam, what with the myriad of assholes swarming it and spawning two feet behind me after I respawned, I just took to the hills and started sniping. Popped a cocky hydra pilot in the process. Good times.

So, yeah, just...don't do the piracy thing. Really not worth the effort.

People engaging in the event should be invulnerable to other free roamers. The way it is now, it turns into a clusterf*ck of being sniped from the yacht and the shore at the same time.

Just don't go alone. Tried 5 times with my bodyguards and we succeed 4 times ! We're just baits until one get on the yellow point

Sometimes it just turn into a stupid war between the attackers on the beach instead of helping each others XD

No offense but you guys suck at the game if attacking a yacht is hard. Get a heli outside sniper range, increade altitude until homing cant lock rhen fly to yacht and parachute down.

 

Using explosves and assault shotgun is best combo when attacking.

Helicopter off the radar and a chute, defending the yellow box with an rpg aimed at the stairs has seen me win a few solo.

Especially easy if it's the top end yacht with the stupid hole in the roof.

In that Piracy minigame or when the owner is a VIP, then it's ok. But wait a second, can you the defenses up in those situations as well???

My strategy is fly high then go off the radar, parachute down opening the chute at the last possible moment putting down on top the roof just next to the gaping hole in Aquariuses roof then just throw a few grenades down to clear the room. I drop a proxy behind me to mine the roof area then jump down & mine the two side entrances & then all I have to do is switch to the rocket launcher & cover the rear & blast anything that comes up the stairs as that's the only possible way they can now get at me. Hopefully I last just long enough to count down the timer. You can do it alone if theirs not too many of them but it helps if others are keeping them busy. Personally I don't think the reward is big enough for the amount of effort you have to put in.

Done it twice using nothing more than a chopper, parachute and off-the-radar, plus some prox mines once I landed *shrug*

 

It's awesome the other way round though, you end up with 6 guys fighting on the beach while you snipe at your leisure

 

ETA - or just do it from Paleto Bay and no f*cker will bother you.

As a yacht owner I have no problems dealing with people trying to board my ship. I simply know how to use the defense systems very well. If someone is on my yacht I allow them to get comfortable before I lower the defenses, and pop them with my shotgun. If they are coming towards my boat I'll let them get close enough to do some work with my AR. Usually when they feel the AR bullets, they run and I get them with my homing launcher. I can deal with multiple foes at once by turning the defenses on, and off at the right moment. If players would simply text, and ask to board my personal property I wouldn't have a problem.

This, this, 100% this. If you have a decent level character its actually pretty easy to defend your yacht from mulitiple attackers by yourself. Grief the griefers...

Pretty much a practice in futility if you're attacking by yourself. Especially if the defense is playing smart. When im playing defense, I put prox mines on the yacht entrances in the back. ill have 1 or two guys near the bow of the ship to ward off paratroopers. I've only had one person successfully invade my ship and that was only because he was in passive mode.

Oh BTW if you can hover your Hydra with any skill you can basically just camp behind the yacht (as seen from the shore) and spawn-kill the defenders forever - thx SL

Weapons are disabled on a yacht when Yacht Defenses are activated, so you wouldn't be able to take out a minigun at all.
