Sounds like fun...all this digital content that is only kept from you by limited digital currency...a few more zeros in a line of code and you could have all that R* put into this game.

But nope! You shall not enjoy it all for that would ruin the entire game...it's not fun unless you can't have it!

How do you can't have it? You just need to play the game and you can have what you want.

At a certain point, it would take so many hours of "playing" that it might as well be impossible.

Well in 2 years of playing and not grinding anything except maybe rooftop rumble back in the days to get a Zentorno I've made close to 70 million.

Figure out what you can buy with that and you should have a nice approximation.

Then this game is NOT for you. Do yourself a favor and stop playing.

Enjoy being extorted for your "play" time, god forbid you want some pixels for doing them the favor of bothering with a remastered PS3 game

Extorted by a video game to play a video game? That is the most hilarious thing I've heard in a while. If your sense of self-entitlement exceeds your ambition to actually play the game, Rockstar does have shark cards for sale.

There's one thing that I feel makes everyone think shark cards are all bad. Price inflation. Without this I wouldn't mind them at all.

Take the Zentorno for Example, this car arrived with the High Life update in 2014 and is very competitve in racing, if not the most competitive car. With these new updates the cars that are comparable to the Zentorno, ie the T20 and Osiris (to an extent), are so much more expensive despite them only being marginally better than the Zentorno in terms of performance. I can't think of any logical reasoning behind this, can you?

Good call on the inflation points...

The inflation could be a side effect of people having too much money, as in real life. An overflow of currency will lead to a rise in prices, this is the first time I have considered that modded money is having a tangible effect on the game (or that R* are suffering from not making everyone pay for DLC ;))

Or maybe I am just being moronic applying real life economics to a video game, especially as we are only talking about 2 supercars (I can't remember the prices of all the other DLC cars).

Whatever the cause the prices seem to be on the up, at least the prices of what is already available are fixed.

Just because this discussion won't spark change does not mean it isn't worth indulging in.

It was "indulged in" to the point of vomiting a year in...now it's just asinine. It's like a never-ending tantrum.

Personally I cheated most of my cash back then and I had the most fun with mods aswell.

Buying everything at the same time because of unlimited funds is fun, also just modifying cars for fun, and now just moving your yacht out of boredom has it's appeal.

Personnally the game is fun without the grinding, but our group of friends had to modify the game with mods so I guess that doesn't count. The most fun thing to do for me in this game is RP, more specifically police role-play, lot of fun with lots of scripts.

But I discovered the game without mods, for instance Deathmatches, in free-roam or events, organisation vs organisation and all that stuff, I probably gonna completely remove all my mods from online because 1st. it's dangerous 2nd : grindind for more stuff and managing money can indeed be fun, I'll probably discover more ways to play the game, like I did when I first started out on the release date of the PC version.

Whatever the cause the prices seem to be on the up, at least the prices of what is already available are fixed.

The thing is though, R* could control the amount of money people have (not completely though, some people will always grind repeatedly) by making missions and stuff pay less, while also nerfing the super accurate Splinter Cell like sh*tpipes they call AI and making hard mode hard and not Tyrant from Resident Evil on steriods mode. They could also balance the amount of money people have by adding more fun game modes that are focued more on enjoyment rather than payment (which I feel game modes like Slasher are already accomplishing).

Or they could just leave it. While everyone having more money would result in more people having access to the expensive stuff (thus price rises occur) it still wouldn't change the fact that the gaming world is far different to the real world, most people (particularly in GTA) will spunk away lots of money on something and then sell it because they don't like it or get bored of it, something that you just don't do in real life. That has to count for something. It wouldn't really be a huge problem for R* if all people do it buy the expensive stuff and get rid of it again, losing most of their money in the process (resell prices suck horse barf in GTA) thus making them buy cash cards or grind to get their money back.

Take my friend for example, he once spent $4,000,000 on cars and ended up selling them all back, all in the same day, because he didn't like them. One thing to note is that, as much as I love him like dogs love sausages, he is a lot like the kind of person you'd meet when playing GTA (only difference is that he's not a displeasure to talk to, he's one of the nicest and funniest guys I've met in my life). What does that tell you? If he's a lot like the average player (the majority) then that means that the majority are likely to do this as well.

In terms of fixes I just wish they'd fix some of the expensive vehicles available for purchase, so your actually getting your moneys worth when you use it. But the Savage buff better be coming first, the things supposed to function as if it's a flying tank, right now you can destroy it with a clip of revolver rounds.
