Yoha
Hi everyone.I'm researching the .ydr file recently, more specific is Props in GTA5.I'm sure here must be have someone else has big progress in ydr file, I need help. Tool, I use ZM3 3.1.2(1123).The result from my research is:(1) Some props (ydr file) can be imported into ZM3 successfully, and also can be edit. (I will post screenshots below the text, please check below. )(2) Some props (ydr file) can be imported, but not so successfully, ZM3 will give me a warning. It said: "No shader configuration avail for 'normal_spec_detail'", or "No shader configuration avail for 'cutout'". Well, this warning, I think it is because of ZM3 has no metarial support it, Am I right? But, anyway, this is not the main question I want ask.(3) I can add own model into an original prop (ydr file), and spawn it with Map Editor in the game, by choose spawn props. (I will post screenshots below the text, please check below. )And now, here is the main question I want ask:I can replace one original prop with my new prop (after add some model), but, I can not add an Extra prop into game.Take "prop_ind_deiseltank.ydr" for example, I successfully to add own model into this original prop, and I also spawn it in the game. But when I rename it, like "prop_ind_deiseltank_extra.ydr", then I can not spawn it, I can not find it in the Map Editor. Then, I keep the name "prop_ind_deiseltank.ydr", and copy&paste another one, "prop_ind_deiseltank_second.ydr".This time, in the Map Editor, I can see the "prop_ind_deiseltank.ydr", but still can not see the "prop_ind_deiseltank_second.ydr".So,How can I add a new (or extra) Prop?If I can add extra prop, then there will be many fun, we can creat own basic object, then creat things. Here is the screenshots:13 images, if loading slow, you can wait a few mins.Add extra prop: Edited January 6, 2016 by Yoha
Yoha
We can not add a new (or extra) prop into GTA 5 yet, right? I mean not through by FIVEM, just add a new one directly.
Yoha
Hey guys, I just find a list of props in the "_manifest.ymf", check below image. I use Notepad++ to open this file, but saddly, notepad++ can not edit this ymf file. Is this means I need add a name of my new prop into this list, then I can spawn it in the game? I mean we have to let game know the name of new prop. So how to edit ymf file? Is there any tools? And what is .ycd file and .ytyp file for? Does .ytyp file control the type of props? Like this props is a big heavy thing and you can not move it. that one is a small box, you can move it when you close it. Like these things, Am I right? Yoha
I found the answer for YTYP file. It is IDE file from IV. (Item Definition) http://www.gtamodding.com/wiki/Item_Definition So my guess is right. And also find out .ymap file is IPL/WPL file. (Item Placement) http://www.gtamodding.com/wiki/Item_Placement But, didn't find any tool can edit ymf, ytyp, ycd and ymap yet. Tieentjeee
You should ask GooD-NTS about this. Can you tell me how you added the prop? thanks in advance
Guad
I may be a little late, but thought I might help others. Map editor doesn't add objects automatically, you need to add any new object you add into the game by adding it's name to objects.ini file so it shows up in the preview window. MrGTAmodsgerman
I tried the same thing months ago, but the problem is the unsuported file formats! i try to patch the original prop by the update.rpf but that doesnt work. I also try to add this as Addon but that doesnt work. Whatever i do, the only thing i havent test it yet is by trying it with the objects.ini of the map editor! Let me know if that works. Another problem is that my collision dont work if i replace it with a useless map part. I use all the same settings but i think that the problem comes from the external collision object that the orignal object use. The object needs a hash and also try to generate it by a script but then GTA V cant found the objects. I think we need the file format support! Yoha
You should ask GooD-NTS about this. Can you tell me how you added the prop? thanks in advance I'm use the original prop from game, and replaced the model in ZM3 Export this new model with same name of original one. Replace the old one with new file in Openiv. Then use mapeditor to spawn it out. You will get the new model in the game. But for now, not all of props can be modified. Because ZM3 doesn't has all of material, athour of ZM3 said he will develope the material of ydr in next month. We need wait.
Yoha
I may be a little late, but thought I might help others. Map editor doesn't add objects automatically, you need to add any new object you add into the game by adding it's name to objects.ini file so it shows up in the preview window. To add a new prop into game. According my study, we can not do that yet for now. Because we can not edit ymf file, and other file in game. But in future, I belive we can. We have to wait for the GooD-NTS. I tried the same thing months ago, but the problem is the unsuported file formats! i try to patch the original prop by the update.rpf but that doesnt work. Yes, you are right, the object need hash, and other setting I guess. For now, I‘ve already pause this study, because there's no right tools. Maybe in future, when the right tools comes out, I will continue research this. MrGTAmodsgerman
