March 7 2015 was my release date. Man was I salty. Just looked up those emails and went from a simple question to all caps in like two messages with support. In my defense though that support staff and probably rockstar don't know jack sh!t about their own systems.

Just play the VIP job that lasts 30 minutes and between that time you get no bad sport points for destroying personal vehicles and no insurance ;)

Bunch of Necrophiliacs in this place. I love how people pay no attention whatsoever to the date of the last post and make a response to it or even worse ask a question about it. Imagine if that kind of thing happened in real life, what a ginormous headfu*k that would be.

I don't like the hat, it doesn't look good on female characters.

I was driving around in my armoured car (not the Kuruma, don't worry) and noticed two players having a fight with someone. Out of the duo, one of them was well over level 800, and so I thought I'd join in the fighting to even the odds for the lone player (well for fun actually, but that too).

The level 800 repeatedly went off radar, so I avoided conventional fighting and stuck in my car. I'd get far back out of auto aim range, and use my heavy revolver to snipe at him/her (while still in the car). This gave me protection from bullets, while I was also able to drive out of the way of homing missiles.

It worked, and it worked well. Admittedly, some of the shots I got were lucky, but it was enough to enrage the players anyway. 800 chased after me in a car, trying to throw a sticky bomb, but I managed to shoot him out of the car with my heavy revolver (one of the lucky shots I mentioned).

Not long after this, 800 went off radar and attacked with a tank. After getting killed once, I went off radar as well, and went to get my Savage. 800's buddy tried to stop me, but failed. Seeing what I was up to, 800 got out of the tank, pulled out a homing launcher, but got blasted. I then received this:

UVF6JuB.jpg

I texted back a quick "lol". 800 went off radar once more, so I retreated to the construction site (I knew 800 was probably after a jet, so needed to get somewhere safe).

Sure enough, the blip of a jet appeared nearby, hovering way up above the construction site. More hate texts were received, and replied with texts such as "lol". I got the notification that players were voting to kick me, and then got told how long I had remaining in bad sport. Presumably, I'd been reported (for something or the other/winning). Not long after that, this happened:

cW7H9Re.gif

I got a message from "800" (ThunderFox619); it read:

"enjoy bad sport bitch".

To which I replied:

"haters gonna hate eh? lol".

The moral of the story is, bad sport is a very real thing. It exists, and when your enemies are bitter enough to report you, it will work. Always keep an eye on your player status, and if it goes to dodgy, you may as well stop playing for a while. Anyway, time to do something else for 8 days.

edit: yes it's nearly a year with this thread necromancy but point is the same because I saw the same thing happen the other night

Guess it didn't ever occur to you that you might have rudely interrupted a free roam fight between two consenting players? The fact that at least one of them was sending you hate texts should've been a hint. The fact that you kept baiting that player with your text response made the issue even worse. And so basically by injecting your unwanted presence (and taunting those players), that YOU ended up being the troll in that session annoying the other players?

This wasn't two players; it was two versus one - making a total of three players.

I kind of doubt they were all just friends, since those two probably wouldn't have been playing dirty against their "friend" (constantly going off radar, double-teaming him, etc.).

At any rate, this was in a public free mode session - people are allowed to kill each other. If this was some friendly thing like you're making it out to be, then it should have been done in private.

As for baiting, if you send me hate mail, you're begging to be baited, and you absolutely deserve it; no exceptions.

I don't have very strong feelings about this nearly year-old free mode battle anyway.

Very similar things have happened to me causing bad sport. Being teamed up on by groups that aren't very good causing them to report and kick me when they lose. Which is why I don't bother with the real bad sports anymore (sour players). If I feel the reports I leave. I did deserve a lot of my time but not all.

For me the last instance was 3 players in tanks killing a low level (I repeat 1 low level vs 3 tanks.) I jumped in with my tank off radar and killed them all multiple times. They rallied the lobby and the reports and kicks started flowing.. I got 8 months. I'm not doing that again. I can't stand these reporting kicking players, they are the real bad sports. The ones who complain about dying and get sour, the very definition of a bad sport.

Oh yeah - the main reason I haven't been back in bad sport is only because I don't play as much. When I do play though, I often get into my old battles.

People's sense of logic and dignity often seems to fly out of the window when they get together in groups. You see people acting like they're the victim after trying to gang up on you (or someone else).

Like a few days ago, some guy kept trying to kill me in his jet. I hurt his ego by shooting him down in my Buzzard a few times (and stopping him getting another). A few days later, turns out he stalked me and became a "follower" of mine. (A follower basically puts me in his friends list, even if I don't want to be. Stupid system on xbox.) Pops into one of my games and cheeses a couple of kills while I'm busy with free mode events.

I guess that kind of pokes a few holes in the "groups of players" thing - it's really more when you hurt someone's ego that they get angry, even if they're in the wrong.

How long are you in for? I've never been put in one.

8 days, it's my third time. Not the end of the world, and I can deal with not playing this for a week or so. It's pretty unjust though, and I wanted to post this so other people look out when fighting groups of friends (since they often report).

i have been staying out of low number lobbies cause they love to kick me, once i see one vote i am gone. I don't mind bad sport but sometimes its lonely.

I have to admit, some of these stories are quite funny. Not in an ill, "I'm laughing at you for being sent there" manner, but just that they read as if they were confessions from ex-cons who just got released from a long stint in prison. It adds a new dimension to my perception of the game. :D

Either way, I honestly had no idea that so many had seen and experienced this seldom discussed realm of the game. To my knowledge, not a single person that I game with on a regular basis has ever been to Bad Sport once within the last almost three years we have been playing, but some of you have been there multiple times and indicate that it is rather easy to end up there. It had come to the point where I wasn't even so sure if these lobbies still existed and I honestly didn't even know that 'dodgy' was a status until a couple of weeks ago. It's just oddly perplexing, I must say.

I don't do public free roam, so that is perhaps why I haven't ever had a chance to experience this seemingly forbidden and mysterious 'Bad Sport' land, but how many PV destructions, job drop outs, and reports does one need to officially make it there? I do mostly jobs when I play, so I'm sure this has cancelled out leaving all of those troll stunt races recently, but when I have hung around in public free roam, I've never actually been kicked from the entire lobby. I have blown up a few PVs here and there though. Oddly enough though, I have been kicked and 'reported' in deathmatches in the past, but only because I had twice as many kills as anyone else and people thought I were cheating. :sigh::p

Agreed, I wouldn't want to wear that hat--it would certainly mess up my hair. ;)

It sucks that some people are such noobs. Sore losers. I've personally never been to bad sport, but I was once threatened by some kid (12 years old maybe) who couldn't stand the heat I brought upon him. Don't know why or how but he was completely worthless at combat, despite a rank of 100-something. Probably took him down twenty times or so. Anyway, got a message that he was gonna report me and he went into the menus, at which time I basically bailed from the session just to be sure. Turned out nothing ever happened.

God, ain't that the truth. I had three guys come after me the other day when I was lone-wolfing it. I was actually in the middle of nowhere doing the Up Chilliad time trial; they were org'ed up and came flying in together in a Buzzard, ready for war. After trading some kills with them I went off radar, got a Hydra, and crapped on them, which made their middle-of-nowhere location suddenly seem like a really bad idea. One of them messaged me to "fight fair" and "get out of the jet." Fight fair?? Motherf*cker, you and your two friends weren't too concerned about fairness when you ganged up on me while I was riding my motorcycle up and down a mountain.

I've been dodgy a lot lately, which I'm pretty sure is mostly driven by sore losers reporting me. Haven't been blowing up many PVs at all.

Were you actually put back in bad sports? It just looks like you were kicked out of the lobby. Happened to me a few times.

I was definitely put in. Before the moment in that gif, it told me how long I had remaining in bad sport. I checked my player status too, it's definitely there. I feel a bit like I've served my sentence, but committed no crime.

I suppose that means you're the champion, then, eh? (Though I suppose it's no bed of roses, nor a pleasure cruise.) :-)

I still, and always will, look at the player list upon joining. If there is a Dodgy Player, I hunt him down and troll him into sealing his fate. Never fails.

Best way to do it is to ride my insured BMX near that player, let him kill me, then he inevitably blows my BMX up to keep me from having fun.

Well, JOKES ON HIM!

The more butthurt the players, the faster you need to change lobbies. Change lobbies frequently if you are a good player.

PS-GTAIVplayer

Its f*cked up aint it

You kill the f*ck nuggets who should be the ones getting kicked, they get their butt buddies in there to kick you out. Has happened to me several times in the past.

This one time there was a squeaker griefing another player, telling him he would hack their sh*t and what not, I started griefing the squeaker and that f*cker pleaded the lobby to kick me

This other time, dudes who were under level were griefing with tanks, I took em out and started griefing them, they pleaded the lobby to kick me

This other time, a bunch of high level dudes were ganging up on a super low level, I started killing them, they got their buddies and even brought other f*ckers in to vote kick me

and the stories go on but holy sh*t man I was never sent to bad sport. Damn, that sucks.

I take a little while and wait in passive or in my apartment to see what sort of lobby I'm playing in. R* have largely removed the griefing cheaters, but there are plenty of bitches who don't break rules, but are a waste to play against. The text or voice chatter can also help tell me if I need to change lobbies.

How do you know if a player is dodgy? How do I know my own status? I never heard of this before. Ps4.

Go to the start menu > online > players

By hovering over a player's name you can see his/her stats on the right side of the screen, it will also state "clean player" or "dodgy player" (not common though).

Your own player name is also on that list to check it out.

...or you could just enter on passive and do what you need to do without the migraine

Found that to be the easiest way to collect my good sport welfare check every other day or so.

Banked some $530k+ for being a goody goody two shoes to date.

Not in the same realm as Bad Sport, maybe, but is this "monitored for cheating" message something new, or just the result of a bunch of crybabies reporting you for killing them because they're terrible?

That's a saved outfit from a loooooong time ago. I swore to never become bad sport again after the last time. 64 days would be overkill for me. I would probably not play for those days.

On another note, does anyone know if when you transfer from PS3 to PS4 if your BS points are reset? For instance, would I only get 2 days again since I transferred?

Might be a dumb question but, how do you know if your in a "bad sport" lobby?

You have a paper cone on your head (like the one I have in my profile picture) and are most likely alone in a lobby. On your player card it will say bad sport instead of clean player or dodgy player.
