Back in bad sport

Every time i see my status go to dodgy, i immediately leave the session I'm in and seek commends from my friends list. Then I'll run a heist or do twenty races on criminal records.

 

We should have a dunce cap appreciation thread. We are, after all, the unicorns of the gta community. The best of the best. The wrekters of lobbies. The evokers of mad. A truly special breed of try-hard. We should have a place to figure out the exact mechanics of BS and to compile our data and spread our accolades. Somewhere to pile the lamentations of the butthurt and cap resenting plebs.

It's mostly luck of the draw - sometimes you'll get bitter people who report you, sometimes not.

 

I have heard about crews and groups putting in reports just to fu*k with people. I would hope R* sees through that crap and dishes it back to the false reporters.

Edit: and how exactly does "never playing jobs" = "horrible sh*t"? I'll play whatever the f**k I want. I've been playing since day one, so have done more than enough grinding of the same old missions over and over. If trying to have fun is horrible, then yeah.

I still have no idea how people manage to get in Bad Sport so easily.

 

I don't give a fu*k about blowing up PV's , and I do it regularly.

 

I assume it's because so many people put in bad reports about players.

 

You must have to piss off an awful lot of people in a single session to get that kind of response.

 

Here's the stats from my most recent trip to Bad Sport. I'm serving a month this time, as I've been in Bad Sport before on this account. This particular account has never had mods or exploits used on it, but did receive about 300 million in modded money. It's worth noting that, even though the account is marked as High Earner, that's not what landed me in BS.

 

I landed in BS because I was playing extremely aggressively on this account over a period of several months. Any time I was playing it was in Free Roam, because I have so much money on the account, I didn't do missions or heists. In any given 20+ player session, I'd immediately set about attacking the nearest dots to me on the map until they either went passive or left the area. I'd destroy their vehicles with reckless abandon. I'd spend a lot of time with friends rolling in a crew in turreted Insurgents/Limos with me as the gunner. I also spent a good bit of time as the gunner of a Savage's front cannon, and as a pilot of the Buzzard, Hydra and Lazer.

 

The only communication I had with other players on this account was in game text chat, when they would complain about getting wasted, and I would request more of their tears to drink. Generally, I wouldn't insult people. Instead I'd challenge them to fight back, and if they submitted I would leave them be. However, as you can see in the image, I was reported over and over for Hate Speech & Exploits.

 

I do not contest the "Griefing" tags, as I said, I was very aggressive and I most definitely deserved these. The other reports are from people who were purely salty about how I was playing, and decided to report me for things I hadn't done.

If I go back to Bad Sport, it will be for 64 days. I closely monitor my status now... Whenever it hits Dodgy, I dip out and do missions/get commended/whatever I can to get it back to Clean.

 

It's inevitable though... All the murdering and destroying I do will catch up with me again. It always does.

 

I met Jesus, on PS3, once in Bad Sport... He told me to be easy, just chilled next to me for a while, gave me some money, then vanished. I was like, "JESUS CHRIST!"

As far as I'm concerned Bad Sport should apply primarily to people who regularly leave Heists early and use exploits.

 

It's a 'Naughty Step' punishment. Destroying PV's is just part of the game, I still don't understand why that's still an issue, but lets not get into that.

 

Using Cheats and Mods and sending offensive texts is a different thing entirely. that's a Breach of TOU. And should be dealt with seperately.

 

Having been on this Forum for a while, I've noticed that a lot of people are very quick to put in reports just because they can. Usually for no reason or because they don't like people disagreeing with them. I've no doubt that those same people, and others, behave like that in the game itself.

 

I've had quite a few 'warnings' from the game telling me to behave myself because players are voting to have me kicked. That usually happens right after I've killed someone a few times.

 

The sad thing is, I've usually received a seriously offensive text from that same player moments earlier lol.

to enter badsport is fairly easy if youre a freeroam warrior.

 

evidence of this is my ps3 account, just this week i landed my 10badsport sentence on that account.

1=november 2013

2=february 2014

3=april 2014

4=may 2014

5=june 2014

6=july 2014

7= august 2015

8= september 2015

9= november 2015

10=january 2016

 

i never quit missions or heist, but things get nasty on freeroam and i see that "players are voting to kick you" a lot.

 

samething on ps4 but i just go to invite only sessions for a few days when i hit dodgy status.

 

to be honest, the badsport system is stupid!

my secondary account was in bad sport recently.

 

eversince then, i've been pausing the game just to see if i'm on dodgy player status.

 

 

 

whenever i do reach dodgy player, i'll just go to my garage, turn the TV on and sit in spectator mode, watching other players kill and talk sh*t to each other.

To all my fellow freemode warriors struggling with bad sport/dodgy status: at least once a week leave your system on overnight (ideally for 9/10 hours) and let your character stay in an invite only session for an extended period of time (I usually stay in my garage, wheels turned to one side to avoid getting kicked for being idle). Previously I would do this for 2/3 hours but it wouldn’t be enough – after blowing up 3 cars I would be dodgy again. I started using this method 3 months ago and I’ve never been sent to Bad Sport again. On PS3 I served a total of 6 sentences. I was sent to BS twice on PS4 and I would always end up in empty lobbies. I decided I would never be sent again to BS because the whole point of online gaming is to interact with other people, friends and foes included. Just remember – if you’re dodgy leave the session immediately, it doesn’t take much to be sent to BS if those butthurt scrubs start reporting you.

This thread is from at least half a year ago - I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to recall whatever was being debated here. If anything was being debated. I didn't hang onto it that long, and have long since been out of bad sport.

It's pretty damn easy to get out of BS on PS4 now. I got it for the second and third time, within 2 days of each other a week ago and was out in a few hours each time. Just stay in the lobby you became one in, watch tv or something in your apartment to prevent the idle kick. Then just go do something else while having friends (good lawyers) commend you periodically during that downtime.

Except in the first 6 months maybe it always has been hard to get in BS unless you got a BS history.

I never want to go back. My last stay was over 8 months. I think it's been about a year now that I've been out. I can go to support site and find out exactly when I was out because my timer was stuck a 0 for awhile and man was I sour.

 

What got me in there was blowing up cars and being reported for being an ahole but mostly reported by griefers who lost to me and or other salty players that I didn't really grief just killed a few times (which is part of the game).

Well actually I've changed my approach slightly. If I feel like a group is going to report me or I start to get kicked i just leave. Even though I shouldn't have to and I'm not doing anything wrong I'll still leave. It's not worth it. I hate groups that try to control who they play with in public. They have no problem killing players but when someone better comes along they report and kick it's sad. So yeah ill leave if I feel I'm being reported and I stopped blowing up empty PV. I'll still blow up PV all day as long as a player is inside. Also I just keep an eye on my status along with a few other measures to insure I never return.

 

Edit* things seem to have changed tho as I can think of only a couple of times recently that I have actually had someone vote to kick me. Players seem more chill nowadays and I haven't had many problems. Hell, I was just uploaded to YouTube the other day from a livestreamer, whilst getting the boot from he and others. I just kept doing what I was doing and nothing happened.

I thought that way once. I'm not risking it anymore though. My experience players will report you just for being dodgy and they will vote to kick if you've done nothing but already have a vote against you.

 

I try to commend any dodgy players I see but alot of aholes out there and I don't go to the player menu to look as much as I used to. Only quickly to look at my own status.

Lol yeah I use different freeroam jobs to avoid some BS points. That paper cone hat can burn for all I care... yeah I'm still a bit bitter.

You can't save it anymore dude, not even with a mod menu will it save...

They blacklisted the Dunce hat but left the Christmas clothes being able to save them to an outfit with a menu.. Rockstar are f*ckin weird.

If you had an outfit with it before it was blacklisted, it should still be there right? I mean, I had one you can see in my missile jammer video.

 

I don't use the outfit much though - too worried that it could get lost somehow.

You can "save" it by just never scrolling through your saved outfit list, and just change clothes at your apartment, to what you feel like wearing at the moment. Of course, this means you'll have to go without wearing a glitched outfit (police, garbage man etc.) for the time being.
