Dont really bother with missions much anymore

Stale, boring and dont pay as well as they used to

They've been balanced in respect to their difficulty & time expected to complete.

Not surprising considering the additions of free roam events and executive challenges..

What is the point of the Executive Challenges, heck what's the point of the whole V.I.P./Bodyguard thing? It probably doesn't pay enough to be worth it.

Contact Missions remained quite popular up till the recent Festive Update.

That's when the "Under Airfield or Underpass" bugs have really flared up for alot of people.

This also includes the "No Jobs Found" bug.

Will R* fix it?....probably when the next DLC or update is released.

They likely won't waste time sending out a patch for just one problem before that.

However there is always the chance R* won't include such a fix, given to push people to buy shark cards.

DO NOTE: You can still play Contact Missions solo without issues, it's just co-op'n with others that includes the bug.

Personally I've stopped playing the game all together, for 75% of my GTA time was with friends in CMs.

If they fix the issue, good, however I think it's funny how R* reps are saying "Reinstall the game".

F*CK those reps, why should they be getting paid to repeat the same message that an automated system could?

I know they won't patch it until the next update (hopefully), and yes you can still launch them solo no issues but that's a huge waste of time (IMO) to play them solo with the 'balanced' payout system. You can make 20K in 5 - 7 mins with a full lobby but it'll take 10 - 15 mins to make the same amount solo. Now granted that's not that bad right now since the VIP mode was released where a guy can play a VIP mission solo, then grind a CM in the 10 minute cool down solo and still make a decent chunk of change in a evening...

And yes I find it hilarious that there are reps out there who's solution is basically "have you tried turning it off and on again?". Whats even funnier is I got the same email back from them with the same response 3 days in a row after I opened a ticket with them :lol:

tbh, that payout balance is extremely outdated nowadays.

It still feels extremely underwhelming.

Stopped doing contact missions when I got good at heists. More $/hour with heists on my end.

I think Rockstars new freeroam events have created a new breed of player, Ive been seeing lots of 70 and under ranks with modded cars you can get off the street or purchase for less than 100,000, I can tell they put a little bit of style into it like colored wheels and spoiler but really cheap cars overall.

When I started playing GTA 5 it was pretty much expected to have your first supercar by rank 30-35., so we grinded jobs and missions. But now I see newcomers and under rank 70 farting around in freeroam in cheap cars.

Same as real life, faster , simple user friendly tech has less kids putting the effort into going fishing, skiing, into sports,

On internet, forums where you have to think out thoughtful paragraphs are dying to make way for one sentence tweets

Everythings changing, Jobs and missions are probably too much work now

Balanced to pay out crap

I prefered the old system, some missions just needed to pay a bit more

Now missions just suck

Most missions (except for those that absolutely requires 2 players to launch) can be done solo and they pay out more if done alone. I get 17-20k from my missions doing it by myself. When I play with others, I get 5-11k.

With that VIP mission "Sightseeer" where you can earn $20,000-$24,000 for just flying to locations, grinding Contact Missions is pointless.

Usually people play Contact Missions now for the teamwork aspect/co-oping, since there are few co-op modes in GTAO other than Heists.

You can get 20-30k every challenge and most of them ae very easy and quick compared to missions, plus, no loading screens and more fun in free roam.

Sightseer is easy, fly to 3 points on the map, pick up packges, takes 5mins, 25k. Then I can set a point to point race and a win gets me 10k. Then I can do Hostile Takeover, Executive Search etc and bag myself 20-30k again. It's easy money and fun with mates.

I was bored with the VIP missions when I signed up cause the rest of the lobby doesn't participate. like I said earlier I know how to make 20k in contact missions. But Ill be sure to give it another go and sign up for VIP again when I get out of my fourth bad sport sentence.

I would like to play missions but RockStar keeps giving me the sandyshore race when I try to play a mission. Lately I've just been playing heist because missions are broken right now.

Fact is that most of the jobs are boring and the pay is garbage.

Way more fun to be a VIP and do the VIP missions in a public session.

"Fact is that..." Ummm no that's called an OPINION, not fact.

Some people like the co-op nature of Contact Missions instead of the craziness of public sessions, regardless of the payout.

Exactly. I have done hundreds and hundreds of jobs/missions solo, with the aid of Mr Rubberband and Mister 15 Minute Mission Timer, for typically $17K or more after ammo expenses. The easy missions only need about 2 or 3 minutes of shooting and driving, and the rest of the time is my own, with Rockstar paying me. So I still get a full night of work done on the computer, while making paper on easy contact missions.

On topic, when I actually want to do a mission with other randoms, I simply let the voting screen time out, and I am placed in a mission that is being filled, and usually it starts within 30 seconds. I'm on PS3. I don't know if it works like that on the other platforms.

Unfortunately that technique doesn't help the PS4 & X1 bugs.

A good idea though.

How are some of you saying youre not finding any missions? I have 69 missions on my job list alone and Im hoping to collect more. I heard theres over 200.

@Saintsrow, Im on Xbox one and the next job loads up for me within seconds, no problem. And yes Im the magic timer guy too, lol. It lets me get work done at my desk or eat a meal while I make it max out for the 20k payout. Cleaning the Cat house is my favorite. I like driving the curvy roads to deliver Anna, I got so good at driving I win the no crash challenge everytime in freeroam events.

Contact Missions with other players, often no "public missions" will appear available.

& when they do, the "teleported underground" bug occurs.

Solo'n CMs isn't the problem.

@Foreverpast, oh, ok I understand now, It seems that screen newly appeared with latest update, I have to press the B button to go ahead solo when Im used to replying with A button, Ive always done it solo so I finaly get it now what others are talking about, lol

Only ones I enjoy in contact is doing Hard Labor, Titan Job, Hit em Up and then Los Santos Connection together in one uninterrupted stream, good quick fun money.

Yep was a good way through the 28 days with my daily objectives till yesterday. I couldnt do 'Capture-Raid'. I had noone in friends list playing gta the times I was on and I must have sat in an empty lobby trying to start one for a few hours in total.

I must say though, its been over 2 years. No other game I have has kept me entertained for as long. But maybe the game has hit its climax :p

@Starsky, all my friends hit level 150-200,. seems to be the fatigue (seen everything , done everything level) and they moved onto Fallout 4.

Im still on GTA 5 to work up to a legit 5.0 K/D ratio , then after that Ill probably move on.

I hit the fatigue after completing the Heists, given the slim chance new ones will release.

However it's fun to occasionally come back to the game & try out the new vehicles & weapons when they are released.

It's what I did when the Turreted Limo came out in the EAOC, however the new bugs cut the fun short.

Considering COD:BO, SW:BF, & F4 came out this fall, I would say R* needs to come up with something good soon (or fixing current problems soon), otherwise their playerbase will plummet. Alot of people got the X1 & PS4 for Christmas, they won't want to stick around with GTA if it's as buggy as it is right now. Plenty of other good games released.

I still play the 6 player missions. Since I'm usually a random, it's the most reliable money source right now that I can think of. Once I get a million in the bank again, I'll check out the VIP stuff.

Nobody wants to get trolled

you can make money faster playing solo

I can still get 4 players to do Landing Gear if I wait 10 - 15 mins but still a pretty good chance you'll get trolled

Nowadays I only do a few missions a week for quick $$, they're just boring.

I have more fun running around free-mode killing people and I get my income from bounty-hunting, free-mode events and selling stolen cars. I also do some heists as a member every now and then but it's usually not worth it considering the waiting time to start is more often than not longer than the time it takes to finish the heist.

People are getting smarter with Heists. So just wait until Rockstar messes Heists up.

I once in a while do Contact Missions. But I do feel like other jobs are dead. Back when I played on 360 about a half a year plus after launch lobbies would easily fill for Deathmatches, Races, Versus Missions, etc. Now over a half year after the PC launch filling races or Deathmatches with more than 4-6 people seems impossible. That's even if you get 4-6 people. Forget even trying to do Captures and LTS. Considering I do my dailies every day on two characters, filling a Capture with one person or a Race with one person (for when it requires a rally race) takes over 10-15 minutes every time. I assume part of it is broken matchmaking but when I do quick jobs and they sit at 4/30 filled for 5 minutes it makes you wonder if there really are only 4 people in the world at that time searching for that same quick job. I cycle between Free Aim and Assisted Aim too so I see just how populated both are. Adversarial Modes seem to be the closest thing to getting full missions but I'm just bored of them. I really want to play full lobby deathmatches, captures, and last team standings. I used to love bag games in Red Dead which are essentially captures. I think R* needs to stop releasing so many Adversarial Modes and make a push for double or triple RP and GTA$ for the older modes and make that permanent to encourage play. They're fun but people are all about fastest ways to earn money now and not fun game modes. Not to mention it is a feedback loop because no one is playing them, people don't want to wait for it to fill, so they don't play it.
