It doesn't. Turning it off/on is to quickly destroy the vehicle they used to get there, without giving them the chance to disable passive and shoot you. (Although you destroying their vehicle sometimes make them think they could get the drop on you, thereby disabling passive... only to discover they can't pull out their weapon, due to the defenses being back on. Which allows you to flip the tables on them and disable the defenses, followed by a quick Heavy Revolver shot to the head.)

Usually if anybody is approaching my yacht, I activate the defenses and wait for them to either get blown up or get on deck. If they make it on deck, I wait until they are distracted and turned away from me. Then I turn off my defenses and kill them with my AP pistol.

Let's not forget about chopping up someone with the heli. You can get surgical with a heli and have the defenses on.

We should have the ability to hire security guards that patrol the yacht, who would attack those who aren't allowed on board. If you get close to the yacht and your not allowed on, they attack. Only thing, you would have to get really close, so the guards don't attack people passing by. People in Passive Mode would be defenseless.

 

In the Super Yacht mod for Single Player, you have the option to have Merryweather Security on board.

I like the cut of your job son. Lol. I usually just let them feel at home. Pull yacht defended down and waste them just to lay a few proximity mines by the stairs and then turn yacht defended on and repeat. As soon as they go passive I blow their vehicle up and fly away. Out of sight out of mind.

I personally don't really care but as other have said how do you kill them while they are in passive mode? Someone rolls up to your yacht in PM and then proceeds to drink and eat leaving wrappers on your otherwise pristine 10 million dollar yacht. I can't even think about it. Its getting me upset now.

Ah ok.. Im with you now. Sorry. I can sort of understand some of the argument they have but really its not that big of a deal. Some of these "peasants" are actually alright. Say hello, get them to be your bodyguard or something. Have some fun with the game. Its what it was meant for peoples.

use cargobob to bring vehicle with weaponry , then drop it to sufficient spot such as helipad :

~ Rhino tank

~ technical

~ turreted limo ( easily gained via bodyguard/VIP abilities , for VIP pay $20.000 )

warning : insurgent cannot be carried to the yacht , as cargobob barely lift insurgent off-ground

 

landing valkyrie on either helipad or other sufficient spot , then using valkyrie as makeshift naval weaponry

 

north part of san andreas is usually quiet , so if you don't mind spending $25.000 , it's a good choice

 

gathering your praetorian guards ( bodyguards , preferably experienced one ) is a good idea . if they lack firepower ( due to their Level or not enough cash to buy weapons ) by inviting them to your yacht , bring them to the guest rooms , there's a : special carbine , combat MG , heavy sniper , homing launcher and proximity mines . oh while your guards are in VIP radius , their stats are doubled ( which might include strength and shooting )

 

do not let the intruders reaching the top part of the yacht , as they can gain an advantage

 

having another friend in another yacht ( and same spot ) for long-distance protection , so long as they had sniper rifle . this is very effective for piracy prevention , having your friend activate his yacht's defenses and the jet pilot & pirates in choppers will be sweating

 

if you bring merryweather backup , it's a bad idea if your yacht defenses are ON ( some mention this option is greyed out while on yacht . but it's possible by getting far enough from the yacht , call them then go back to yacht )

 

for 3 bodyguard in charge of defenses , spliting up in different " moves " may work . such as one in a jet , one in a shore ( this one is effective to keep the pirates on the shore as your bodyguard distract them ) and the other one boat patrolling around the yacht

 

be careful using an explosives that can create fire ( such as RPG ) , this will spread fires on board

 

because a firefight in yacht is CQB , teargas is effective to nullify auto aim

 

while having 3-star is very risky , the polmav's attention can be diverted to other players so long as the havoc is continued . however , cops only spawn on shore and on water ( only if players on small boat , not on the yacht ) and polmav's presence can be maintained so long as at least 1 player has 3 star

 

for attack choppers that storming your yacht from distance that yacht's weaponry out of range , tricking them by switching off the weapon then turn on when the time is right

it won't work because these reasons :

~ muggers may be scripted to spawn in mountains , rooftop , etc but there are no scripting/coding that would allow them to spawn on-board to the yacht

~ mercenaries are limited to spawn on areas with road ( particulary any road that has GPS routes ) . so they will not spawn on water ( despite having fleet of dingys ) and won't swim either

Whenever I get unidentified intruders on my yacht I tend to turn the yacht defenses on and off and kill the intruders a few times to show that I've got the upper hand and to warn them. Then I tend to let them hang out on my yacht just because I'm nice.

I was able to call a Merryweather backup helicopter while aboard my yacht. I had the defences on to see if the heli would be destroyed.

When I am in a group, what we do is:

 

Everbody enters the boats, pretending that your gonna leave the yacht. The stranger will most likely hop in on one of the vehicles. Then the guy who has the stranget as passanger quickly sails away while the captain hurrys to the bridge and moves the yacht.

 

From there, just reinvite your group members.
