What did you do when you got bored?

Doing missions, shooting cops... the basic GTA things can get old at some point. So some of you may have found other fun things to do with friends in multiplayer or alone in singleplayer. Share them here.

Mine:

-Knife tag: simplest of all. Play with one other person. One player chases another player with a knife. If he manages to kill him, he wins. While this might seems stupid, my friend and me spent around 200 hours just on this activity. It's full of funny sh*t that can happen (the chaser getting run over while crossing a highway). It also adds an opportunity to explore the map.

-Parkour: We must have spent hundreds of hours on this. Just take a helicopter and land on a tall building, then try to make your way down. Alternatively try to get to the roof of a building from the groud. May seems hard or stupid, but LC has a f*ckton of what we used to call Potentially Interesting Parkour Areas. I might make a video of what we found.

-Passenger: Block both front doors of an NPC 4-door car, then get in the back. Start shooting to make the NPC go faster, then have the players in the lobby come after you. This reminded me of those cool classic GTA missions where you were the drive-by shooter (Just business GTA SA, End of the line part one SA)

-Rocket launching: A true classic! Friendly fire off, RPGS only. Shoot rockets at other player, launching them high up in the sky. Try to kill them with fall damage.

-Pursuit: one player is chased by one or more players. Game is over when the engine stalls.

-Trafficking: One or two players in a unique and very specific car (usually Sultan RS) have to cross a part of the map. The rest of the players in the lobby grab cars (one or two can grab a helicopter) and need to locate the traffickers. Works best with minimap off, or Far blips on TBoGT;

-Protect the VIP: a convoy of players transport a VIP from one interior to another. One or two players need to eliminate the VIP and ONLY the VIP. No large scale shootouts preferably. Minimap off, or far blips. Using a glitch to hide player blip above your head is advised. Can only be pulled off using certain precautions and glitches, so takes a lot of effort to set up.

Looking forward to what you guys used to do

One thing that I often like to do is go on the Plumbers Skyway in New Alderny, and shoot a gun to get the NPC cars going fast. Then I chase them and try to shoot out one of their tires and watch them spin out and struggle to keep the car straight when going into a turn.

It might sound really stupid, but a lot of the time I spend hours doing this, just going back and forth on the highway.

It doesn't sound stupid, actually sounds like fun. If it entertains you then it's not stupid. Also sounds like something I do in GTA V.

I do it as well in V. It's so much fun it keeps me entertained for hours. Another thing I used to do was get a Patriot or a big truck and go up and down Star Junction and smash into the sides of other cars at the end of the road.

Lethal Vaccine

I just like messing with the physics in IV, while driving especially. Since my Vehicles in IV are fully converted and made indestructible, they can deform much farther beyond the threshold of the normal game allows since they would of blew up before they could withstand so much damage. It's a lot of fun messing around in IV and seeing how deformed the Vehicles can be made into.

-Beating the sh*t out of people in singleplayer.

-Going to the skatepark and doing tricks with a Sanchez.

-Listen at people's conversations (in SP ofcourse).

-Driviving on high speed on freeways, switching lanes etc. and trying not to get a scratch from it.

-Shooting up hospitals.

-Skydiving (tbogt).

Oh totally forgot that. I used to go on ramming rampages with a bus too

Yep, fun activities. Especially the Sanchez skating.

Drive around like an NPC.

Yep, guilty of this too. Did it so often that I discovered a glitch that caused you to copy another NPC car's lights and direction indicators

That's just brutal. But why do you need sticky bombs tho?

Makes sense. Will keep that in mind.

Gnocchi Flip Flops

Well I play IV just to do free roaming stuff. No missions or "typical" GTA stuff. Usually I'll track down a specific car - or spawn one via cheats if it doesn't normally spawn - and go for a drive around the city just cruising or stopping at various places to walk around. Sentinels on black rim, Russian Schafters, the Turismo, the Super GT, a Feltzer, the poverty-spec Hakumai, the super fun Faction, a topless Banshee; these are cars I drive regularly. Sometimes I'll pick up a suit from Perseus with some shades from Hove Beach and drive around in a flashy Super GT or Turismo or some sh*t.

On occasion I'll get myself into high speed chase and those are fun because - not to toot my own horn - I can pull some fun ass stunts without crashing my car.

I like to explore interiors, observe the architecture or layout of certain areas like a tourist. sh*t like that.

Welp I got a lot of stuff to do. The game gets never boring. I love to do shoot-outs with gangbangers in various turfs, car chases with the LCPD, spraying other people with the Firetruck hose :p I also enjoy doing the Most Wanted mission and ONLY killing the guy who is wanted. This way I get some free 500 bucks. I like going to that place in Schottler and there I beat the living crap outta the hobos, pushing them off the roofs and such.

Don't remember much. I think you had to carjack an NPC from the passenger door while he was stopped at an intersection. I might still have the video, but this was waay back on GTA IV multiplayer on Xbox 360

When I am bored in GTA IV, I just go in Little Italy and provoke and annoy some Mafias, like pushing them until they look at me and say "what's your problem, junior" and I shoot them so there comes like 10 mafias or more tries to shoot me with the MP5 or pistole's. The same applies for Hove Beach and the Russian Mafia. Russian Mafia are even more aggresive and stronger in a way like they're mostly armed with shotgun's.

When I'd get bored of single player, I'd often go online and pick several fights at the airport and then let everyone chase me to the Majestic Hotel by Middle Park. I'd land on the roof and spend the next hour or so defending it at all costs. Epic sniper battles would ensue, and occasionally other players would land on the roof and fight me inside. Honestly, those were some of my fondest memories of the game.

Modded my game to get more replayability and sandbox-iness than that cancer called Online ever will. I'm still enjoying it daily after I ragequit 5 due to lack of any activity-based mods.

Can't believe it's been already 8 years...

My friend and I would do police chases online. He would be the cop and I would be the one getting chased. I remember one time my chase led me to being cornered inside the bank of liberty and he was outside with a assault rifle when a random ambulance came by and pegged him. Oh were those good times!

After i was bored my favorite thing to do was just simply push random people off ledges and hit other walls till they hit the floor. IV had some nice ragdoll animations. It's hilarious when you punch those fat cops and then they fall straight down  I still mainly do it around the Burger Shot area. Really those were fun times in IV. It's not really fun in gta V since Cops are like superhumans and can see you from 2 miles away :bored: Either that are damn pedestrian report it right away.

There are actually good variety of mods available for 5.
