The reason why you hate sharkcards?

A game that costs $60 and the maximum shark card amount is 40% more expensive than the game at $100.

Getting $2 billion will cost you $25,000 of real life currency. Or you can grind the same mission over and over again which would take around 231 days if you play 24 hours per day.

Everything in online costs almost 10 times as much as singleplayer. Best cars in the game are the most expensive. T20 fully modded costs around $220, Yachts and gold luxor around $120 each fully modded.

You think the free updates will last? Just wait it will become like WoW. Paid DLC's, Pay To Play Online fee's. You can buy in game currency just like Wow. This is just the beginning. Get ready to pay $50 per month to play.

Yea your exaggerating a bit 2 billion is a "stupid rich" amount of money meaning your so rich money doesn't affect you plus i believe max money is lower than that.

And GTA will never make it 50 dollars a month R* is a smart company and realize that if they add a pay to play system they will lose all there fans. WoW if your talking about World of Warcraft ( there are other WoW games ) is an RPG and monthly fees are common in those.

Gnocchi Flip Flops

^ All that I could grasp from that is the 2 billion part being enough to where you don't care about money. Well sh*t son, I want to not care about money. There is nothing fun about grinding your ass off just to spend 70K of it on some f*ckin chrome rims. 15 grand on some rims that cost me 1000 in SP. I want to have enough to not care.

And the way they jack up prices for GTA:Online only is awful. Pathetic. That's the same sh*t Test Drive Unlimited did to make earning money worthwhile and needless to say the game was awful I had to spend 500 just to buy some fairy boy ass shorts! And I don't want that in GTA.

I play GTA to f*ck about, not waste my life doing tedious chores for virtual cash.

But you're supposed to enjoy playing the same few dozen jobs hundreds of times!

It's a game! Game = fun no matter what!

Why should anyone buy shark card if there are tons of glitchers out there with multiple millions of dollars for free?

This ecosystem was broken many times. At this time it is broken and players can dupe cars.

If dlcs were still free updates and shark cards didn't exist I'd love to see how some people would get by haha.

I'm not against shark cards but why can't people just play the game the way it was provided and be satisfied with that?

I dislike cash grabs, especially blatant cash grabs. I already have everything I want in the game, but for people who like to buy every new thing that comes out they'd be disappointed with the pricing. A lot of next gen games have these blatant cash grabs and it's done because people are willing to give them the money, so it's basically making money on top of the the money made off the game.

There are people who go to work, that have to earn that money, it's up to them how they spend their hard earned cash. If they choose to not grind or play for hours and just want the new stuff, that's up to them. So yeah, I'm totally cool with sharkcards.

I do agree with it not being value for money and it's something I'd never buy myself, but I'm certainly not going to look down at people for choosing to purchase one.

No-one should "hate" them. They're just there if you need em. I can understand having a problem with how much upgrades and sh*t cost. But not the existence of cards.

The high cost of upgrades and sh*t is due in part to R* having incentive to make people want to buy shark cards.

Not at all.

The only thing you lose is the opportunity to earn cash from duped vehicles because when a patch is added, it makes anything duped sell for an embarrassing $1800.

My only issue with shark cards is the exchange rates in relation to the prices of stuff in the game and the amount of time and or ways to otherwise earn game money. $20 real for 1.25 million is ridiculous considering the prices of stuff. Wow i can buy and upgrade 1 super car like the adder. $20 real will not even buy a Buzzard helicopter.

$20 real for 8 million in game money is more reasonble to me. There would still be debate about shark even with better exchange rates. However the negativity about shark cards would be redused.

Exchange rate is absurd. That and the price in the game isn't helping.

My brain isn't genius. But it has a working calculator and it says Cash Cards aren't worth it.

That will never happen, because they'll have to offer dedicated servers in return. Nobody is gonna pay that with all these connection issues. I think the change that they add a massive map expansion such as San Fierro and Las Venturas is much higher than getting dedicated servers.

I don't have an issue with them, nor have I bought them. I for one am glad that they didn't follow the trend of split currencies. This way, Shark Cards are time savers.

Now....if Shark Cash Cards were instead Shark Credit Cards, a separate form of "Credit Currency" that you can only get from buying or as one time reward for completing awards (Replacing the money/RP earned from awards. Daily objectives still reward cash, but you get credit for completing the awkward the first time), then it'd get annoying. Especially if there was the following:

Can't combine credit + cash for purchases

Items cost double the amount of cash then credit

Some items can only be purchased using credit

You're just stupid to buy them, since it's raining cash in every lobby. Why spent money on something if all the others get it for free ?

BTW, buying GTA cash is also a form of cheating your way trough the game, it's even worse than dropping it 'cause you blow your money away on a game you paid already.

Cash cards are the embodiement of getting f*cked in the ass.

- People are entitled to spend their money how they choose, Amish would call you stupid for buying the game in the first place.

You must be talking about Previous Generation consoles, not seeing cash rain in Xbox One lobbies.

- It's not cheating or even "paying to win" like some games offer.

Players still must still unlock most weapons & weaponized vehicles.

That goes for vehicle upgrades as well.

It merely allows those with busy lives to buy items rather than grind for cash to purchase said unlocked items.

- An opinion that really suggests some personal hate on the matter for some reason.

Honestly we should all appreciate sharkcards. If they didn't exist then each major update would probably be paid DLC.

But I won't buy them. They're too expensive and give too little.

FourFingersOfFun

Sigh

Shark cards are not meant for people us who have more than enough time to play this game and earn lots of money

Prices are higher than single player because it's a f*cking MMO, if you could buy everything you wanted right away you would get bored extremely quick. Imagine if on Runescape or WoW you could reach max level, millions/billions of dollars and the best gear in a month. What's your incentive to play for multiple years? None. If the prices in online were as low as they are in single player, we would all be bored of the game because we would get everything right away.

It seems to me that people that think the prices are too high and somehow force you to buy sharkcards, are extremely impatient people who refuse to admit it.

Kash Kerds were added so that an on purpose awful money earning system for online could make even more cash than the billion GTAV got on release alone

Didnt read the entire thread but I think it needs to be said.

I hate shark cards because of the direction its taking us videogamers in as whole.

Its only the start of microtrannys now, but where are we headed now that R* realize the "Fanboyz&girlz" will eat up every poo they do??

Typical answer: "games being made half-ass" so they can add the good stuff later on at a premium price.

Too late, thats already happening now. So then what?

All I know is, your gonna need a credit card just to "enjoy" all videogames soon and thats sad.

I dont hate how sharkcards work, I hate that its going to take the FUN(the reason I play) and turn it into work(ingame) or pay(realife) just to play the game.

When a REAL money value is attached to a average time to grind ingame and you realize its easier to just pay real money then to grind, that ruins a game IMHO. I know that they are not forced on us. But I cant see R* ever dropping microtrannys soon.

Its easy to see what R* did. They did some market research, worked out that the funnest thing everybody loves bout GTAs(3D era) is the FREEROAM with friends. So they made the same as GTAIV(pre-greed) but with everything costing your either real money or real life(work) hours. And it worked.

P.s. I would rather paid DLCs like GTAIV then microtrannys. Oh and I mean actual DLC like GTAIV.

90% of people on this forum dont understand that the phrase "DLC" and the phrase "Mandatory Updates" are separate things.

R* HAVE NEVER SAID THE PHRASE "DLC" on any extra content for a reason, its not the proper term. Its called a Update.

Considering there are very valid points/reasons already stated in this topic, that counter pretty much every point you've made in that post. If you had read the posts, then you would realize how silly it is to post those views since it's already been discussed, such as Shark Cards are for those that don't have time to grind, & allow such busy people to have access to the content. They still have to unlock the items, but if they don't have the time in their lives to spend hours grinding to purchase said unlocked content, the cards are an alternative. For example it doesn't matter if you grind or simply buy the required amount of GTA $ for the Savage, you have to complete the Heist to unlock it regardless. Same with the Sniper Rifles, etc with ranking up.

I don't hate shark cards. Because they pay for the game.

Face it. Without them their would be a monthly charge to play GTAO and there would still be micro transactions to buy stuff like yachts and high end apartments.

We got lucky they used shark cards. No shark cards, none of us would be here to bitch about them.
