The reason why you hate sharkcards?

I would like to know where does the hatred for cashcards come from. Most of you say that they 're the cancer of the multiplayer. Can you please give some arguments?

For me its a way the online dlc can be free for Everyone, not only for those who Pay real money. Can you recall another game which gives you hundret of clothes, dozens cars, weapons, without asking for money for each one? Did I have any issues with a cc buyer? No, i dont recall. I know i had countless with modders, squeekers and racists, but none of them happens to be assholes becouse of extra money.

Secondly Limited Time Content. Its your fault that you had no money for Roosevelt. Rockstar didnt robb you from your hard earned money. Spend cash wisely, you wont lack of it when you will need it.

Thats my view. I consider cashcards as helpfull tool which isnt making the game unfair. Every hydra can be taken down with homming misile, or with a sniperifle , but I doubt you would ever be that good ;)

Whats your opinion ?

They cost a lot and give very little...think about it yourself and look at the prices. Didn't really need a thread for this.

It all comes down to the "forced" micro-transactions and the cost of them. Cash cards are the reason why clothing, parts, certain vehicles, weapons and car mods are more expensive compared to single player. But people don't realize that Online has it pretty easy with them. And not to mention the money glitches that pop up and the fact rockstar won't really ban you for then.

Why do people hate them? Because it feels a bit like cheating - money just magically appears in your account and you did nothing besides click a few confirmation buttons.

HOWEVER, this it the trade-off Rockstar provide us with, and I'm all in favour of it - give them your real life money and enable them to further develop and invest in GTA online, and in return they will allow you to bolster your GTA online character with as much cash as you desire.

I don't hate them, but I must admit to being a little bemused that anyone buys them at all.

Personally, I'm happy to progress at the speed I can by playing the game. I'm not an amazing player nor do I play it every hour of the day, but earning money doesn't seem that hard. I guess some people are just impatient and want stuff as soon as it comes out?

There should be no hate towards cash cards. 1st no one forces you to buy them. 2nd most of the people that buy them have disposable income so they think nothing of it. 3rd R* has given many opportunities to make large amounts of cash if you choose to play the game instead of bitching and moaning about being broke. 4th they fund the DLC's.

I dont hate them, but they are the reason why everything is overpriced in GTA online.

People try to claim that they're forced to buy them, but in reality they aren't. They can absolutely get everything they want in GTA online without buying shark cards. But complainers will complain.

Not this again... Cash cards are not forced. They're a shortcut. If you're willing to put the effort in to get money, then the update is effectively free. If not, you can take that shortcut for a small (or large) price.

"Oh, but the mission payouts are crap and require too much time to earn money"

What, so you don't even want to play the game to get some item in the game? Do you see how stupid that is?

Some of you are blinded by your unfathomable hate for some of Rockstar's decisions that you don't step back to see that Rockstar could've also made the prices of Shark cards undesirable to encourage you to play the game.

Why? WHY?!?

Have you seen the prices? Unless you're a person without a social life it's impossible to buy a single item without playing for weeks. I repeat, for a single item.

Since the addition of the new shark cards (Megalodon and the other one...anyway, the hyperjesuschristonlycanbuy cards) the prices simply got higher and higher. I get it, it's not forced, you can do it by playing missions and blah blah blah. Not everyone has the material time to spend hours on missions, heists, activities, bounties, prostitution, and R* knows it, that's why these...things exist

People cant afford them.

I on the other hand like them. I work so I do not have time to grind missions to make money, so paying 100$ to have 8 million and enjoy the game, I do not even give a second thought.

Because they marketed something that was already available, and had been for many, many years on cheaper (and much better) platforms, and gave it a fancy new name to make it sound all swit-swoo, and in doing so they basically made fools out of all the people that bought them, whilst also buying into their clearly obvious thievery.

Oh wait, no that's iPhones.

I don't hate shark cards. I've even bought a couple.

I hate dislike shark cards because they are the reason everything is expensive, and the reason why money is harder to make than it actually needs to be.

I have nothing against anyone who buys them though, and on one hand the dlc we get is free (if a little on the small side). But making money on this game is an extreme grind fest because of shark cards.

I don't hate them at all. I've bought a few back on the Xbox 360 and yes, some of the more valuable ones are kinda expensive, but oh well, Rockstar are a business and their aim is to make money so I can't knock them for that.

If you think the items in game are overpriced, then don't complain. Do something about it, like getting your money up so that you can afford whatever the hell you want, that way, you won't end up thinking that Rockstar are "forcing" you to buy shark cards.

Not true. If you've got a half decent team, a couple a runs of Pac Std can net you half a million in an evenings play.

As I said, not everyone has the time, even to coordinate with a team etc... Sure, if you manage to find a group it's easy, but for some (like me) it's difficult to find the right time when everyone is free and willing to play a heist

I didn't get what you meant, sorry. What?If you were in the situation at Rockstar, and you could implement shark cards and make as much money as they do, I doubt you would say no. Rockstar are a business, they need to make money outside of game sales

True I don't play every night and not all my real friends are online at the same time. I do make a point of adding any random player I meet who is good at heists though. After a while you build a long enough list you'll always have a couple of players you can rely on.

I'm going to play a bit of Devil's advocate here.

So I wave my magic wand and *ping* Shark Cards now have an exchange rate of:

$100 = $32,000,000

$50 = $15,000,000

$20 = $5,000,000

$10 = $2,000,000

$5 = $750,000

Now are the prices more in line with what you think they should be?

I don't hate them. I have already given R* money for two copies of the game and don't want to give anymore for something that I can earn myself in game.

They don't try to FORCE you to do anything. What your talking about is some people's concept of thinking they have to have everything that's brand new given to them from go.

Yes, but things will probably get more and more expensive and it won't be enough for some. You can't please everyone :p
