[PS4] GTA V Time Trials

Love the track doubleG!

 

Had a couple of great-ish laps, but nothing close to the time I got when I tried using my akuma...

 

Glad we have a lil bit longer to practice :)

Are we running Rallycross and such later? I have done loads of tracks for Rallycross with them aimed far more at Sedans. It's great to race with the back end sideways on the dirt.

We had last time so I expect we will have them this year too.

Expect to see Kurumas, Brawlers, Stirlings, Biftas, Schafters and the like going at it!

Yes Sikee, more or less every class is going to be covered and there will definitely be a Rallycross themed round.

 

Last time around I went with a mixture of cars which have some kind of Rally pedigree, so it allowed Kuruma, Stirling GT, Bifta, Brawler etc. across the classes.

 

The track I have in mind is a bit longer than last year so might give a bit more of variety in terms of which car performs best, last years was a bit of a Kuruma landslide. Hopefully with a longer track the top speed of the likes of the Brawler may come into play a bit more. I need to do some experimenting to try and judge it.

 

I think last year I went with a bit too short a track, which while it was more along the lines of a short, sharp and fast Rallycross track (about 32 seconds a lap or so) it didn't really allow for balance across the cars.

Rallycross is a challenge to level the playing field with. Every car behaves so differently either on or off road that nothing balances fairly unless it's a roughly 50 / 50 split and that then can make tracks so long that rhythm becomes impossible.

 

You can check my PC profile for ideas if you like, even if you cannot run them as a different platform, the routes may provide some inspiration for ideas to try. My Rallycross routes are designed to be long, but I have balanced routes like Dam Style to be fairly 50 / 50 and provide a variety of curves on both on and off road.

I'll take a look through. I have most of the year pretty much planned out but I'm always looking for ideas.

 

I have the PC version as well as PS3. For the last race of last year I used a PC race someone else had created and made a PS3 copy of it. It's not always possible depending on the prop placement.

 

I love the PC version, but probably spend more time playing on PS3 than PC.

You really need to know where the limit is on this track, it's not that easy to find for some corners. I really like that about it, so great. Also the random slides of these supercars seem to be more then luck sometimes then skill to avoid.

 

Think I got quite a good laptime but man, I don't think I can do that lap again. Not in Supercars at least.

And the bumps!!

The goddamn bumps not even the off-road tires can help much with!

 

At least you're lucky you didn't have this compacts round we did last year, it was really bumpy + pantos = mayhem.

The bumps are not so bad imo, beside the one in turn one throwing you into a slide I had not much problems with them ones I knew the limit. I did a lap on the lawnmower to spot it all. It almost got stuck in turn one because of the pothole there...

I've had problems with bumps at the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th and 9th corners.

Some of them aren't much of a big deal, but sometimes they will screw me up if I distract myself.

Ah, you count the elevation changes of the track bumps too. Yeah, some of those are really hard to master. Turn 7 was the worst imo.

It never worked for me when trying to get x360 jobs on ps3, it'd say they were bookmarked properly, but they wouldn't show up in-game.

I don't think it'd work with xbox one either.

There's just no way around it, unfortunately.

I'm quite sure you can still get PS3 jobs on PS4, but not PS4 jobs on PS3.

You can get a PS3 job on PS4 (the PSN versions I do of the tracks are made on PS3) but they removed the platform id reference and that stopped you being able to share between PS and XBbox.

 

Presumably you can also do the same with 360 and Xbox one jobs. If it wasn't for the fact I'd have to pay for the Live subscription for a platform I'd barely use I'd have picked up a cheap 360 so that I can do it on there.

 

Edit: As Ross ninja'ed me. I can see sense in you not being able to move jobs backwards as there are props available on PS4/Xboxone/PC that you can't get on PS3. But between the 3 CG platforms and the 2 last gen there is no real reason why you shouldn't be able to. God knows what weird logic R* are applying to that one.

 

I can create a job on PS3, but despite the fact all of the props etc. are available on PC I have to then create an identical job on PC from scratch.

The lack of cross platform support for content creation is totally illogical....

 

If Fallout 4 can support PC Mods on XBox One, you'd expect the same tech to work here, with PC to XBox One working the same way. Maybe it wasn't considered as possible, as V was early in the history of current gen conversions. Maybe it'll come as a SP DLC bonus, or the next GTA.

 

As for the track, I have to congratulate you on designing a good one. It's nice to actually have a super course that incorporates corners, most are just speed blasts. It's a tough one too, but I am getting to the point where the stock car is limiting out. I'll keep pushing though.

It's all perfectly possible as the data is transferred to Social Club anyway and if you say transfer from PS3 to Xbox One your created jobs are also transferred.

 

All they have to do is let it pass through the API that feeds it into and out of Social Club to the game.

 

 

 

 

 

Also, for anyone who is interested, Sultan RS and Banshee 900 are fine for the Time Trial as a Super, although they are pretty damn slow so I imagine they won't be much use.

 

I was between 5 and 6 seconds per lap slower than my Turismo R time when I was trying them out.

Does the Sultan handle like a boat on console? I'm guessing PC understeer makes it a whole lot worse, but I literally can't take the fist corner without braking in the slightest otherwise I'll run off the track.

PC experience here....

 

I don't brake on the first corner, I use the far sidewalk and just let let off the power through turn 1 with the Sultan RS. The biggest issue is the bumps, the suspension is over sensitive and it's prone to stepping the back end out as it bounces, so you have to run slightly wider and avoid that inside kerb.

 

Turn 2 is similar, let off and turn, using the far sidewalk again, be prepared to run between the corner streetlamp and the railing on the far side. The issue here is the slight cross slope as you turn, it almost guarantess the back end slides, so be ready for it.

 

I use a 360 controller for racing, so I have better control than a keyboard. But the handling on the RS seems snappier than the stock Sultan, as does the acceleration and braking, but the top speed remains the same. (I had a stock setup sports one and wanted to keep it, so found another one for the RS. I can compare the two now.)

 

It is a pretty standard racer now and not faster than a stock T20. Last night I got a 1:44:7 with an RS, even though I was missing the apex in the final twisty section, while I have gone faster with a stock T20. I need some more practice to get a direct time difference.

Just a quick note on entries so far etc.

 

We currently have 17 entries in total (including myself)

 

2 x Yardies

2 x GTAF All-Stars

3 x Paleto Bay Mayors Office

10 x Van Society.

 

If any of you already entered know people in other crews, or if you are in a crew not listed there and would like your crew involved please give them a nudge.

 

It will be good to have a 4 Crew battle on the Crew vs Crew but it would be good to get some more crews on board as well.

 

Even if you are not interested in the Crew vs Crew battle I will be producing individual results for each crew so you can fight it out amongst yourselves and ignore the rest of us.
