Is Grand Theft Auto V / Online the best game ever made?

How can you compare a Online Multiplayer game to a standalone title such as FO4 and Red Dead Redemption. You can't unless your a complete flippin bias moron. There's single player which is you as a loner or there is Multiplayer where possibilities are ENDLESS. Also games like Call of Duty get boring quick and its the same sh*t every year nothing special in fact they are getting worse and more desperate in my opinion. Also how many people here have actually completed GTA 5 100% with ALL TROPHIES? I'm serious because its fine giving your opinions but how valid and credible really are they. To truly know a any game you must achieve and complete everything in it inside out if i hadn't with GTA i wouldn't know half the wonderful things i do about the game which actually gives me more of an in depth insight into the game. Its fantastic.

 

Also what game like GTA 5 actually gives back the community as much as they have in terms of DLC, Creator, snapmatic contents, YouTube and so on. Errrr.....NONE. Facts also actually prove that. So for me GTA 5 whether its Online or Single player is the best game ever made to date. San Andreas and Vice City were also favourites of mine, hated Liberty City it was dark, dingy and full of sh*tty mods. The only thing good about that game was the flippin airport. GTA 5 broke barriers most games could only dream of and guess what is still going good today. Personal opinion mind guys

Gta v is one of the best games that i have ever played...

 

Gta online was fun for a while, but bored me. The game feels lifeless, no story, overpriced sh*ts, bugs and a community of players which 90% are a-holes

 

And! The exclusive content online kill the game for me.

If anything Minecraft would be one of the best games ever made. A simple Idea from an independent game developer made a game that has sold more than 72 million copies. GTA V only has $54 million copies sold.

 

WoW has around 5.6 million subscribers after 11 years. GTA Online had 33,834,423 players million players in the 2014 census. There was a talk with IGN saying that only 8 million player play a week on November 5th of 2014.

 

San Andreas is another near perfect game. It will be years before they get anywhere near how many features and unique things that San Andreas has.

 

SA-MP is almost 10 years old and has more than 15,000 active players daily.

 

GTA Online would be considered enough for gta 3 level multiplayer. Your online characters can't talk and probably never will. All these things they added should have came sooner especially heists.

 

They continue to make these update as they stumble around with ideas as they lose countless amount of players to a lot of games that have and will come out.

No, it's a lot like Fallout 4. So much potential and a series of great titles behind it to live up to.. but the developers got a bit lazy+greedy and the final result came out as a "dumbed" down version of what it could've been. It's all a matter of opinion but anyone with actual good taste can tell you it isn't in the Top 10. Not hating GTA 5 or Online but the games pretty broken and has alot of issues you can't just ignore.

I don't know if it's the best game ever made, but it is my favorite ever. I almost didn't buy gta v since I almost lost faith in rockstar after the bad taste gta IV, red dead redemption and max payne 3 left in my mouth.

its a pretty good game mechanically (sans online's connection issues) but where the whole entire thing really doesnt work at all is in it's writing and satire. a lot of the jokes fall flat and the satire lazily makes its points, when it does. Most of the time it feels too aggressively cynical

in my book is the best game ever... but that just me, a person that have been playing gta games almost exclusively for well over a decade, so my opinion may be biased.

 

for others it may not be the best, but its king of his genre, f*ck it, i'd say gta is it own genre and cant be matched by any other game.

 

 

this game is not about crime as it used to be, we got crime, races, stunters, golfers, etc etc R* is really widening the fanbase.

 

if we had proper servers, less connection issues, better matchmaking and if they managed to control the modders/cheaters, this could easily be the best game ever made.

V has got the weakest single player so far in the series.

I much preferred (still do) GTA IV to GTAV (Single Player) and while the ONLINE is great, its such a wasted potential which cant be remedied without moving to dedicated servers (which wont happen).

 

Even so as Multi-player games go its nowhere near the best ever, its just one of best in its category on current gen is all!, and there really isn't much competition for it at the moment! but...The Division, WILD LANDS, possible Deus Ex Multi-player....oh or ya know! GTA6 Online upgrade which moves eveything to dedicated servers and adds multiple Cities .....can but dream

-Carmageddon 1 & 2 (having personally made add-on content for both since 1999... not to mention being incredible games even in their default forms)

-Doom 1 (and 2 perhaps to a lesser extent)

-Wolfenstein 3d

-Double Dragon (Acade 1987), Double Dragon II: The Revenge (Arcade / NES) or Super Double Dragon (SNES)

-River City Ransom (NES)

-Micro Machines (NES)

-Super Off-road (Arcade, SNES, NES)

-Need for Speed I & II (II for its traffic car cheats... they were actually WAY cooler than the default cars. everything from a Citroen 2cv, Super Beetle, VW Type 3, Vanagon, school bus to a BMW, Mercedes SL, Jeep Commanche Pickup and pretty much anything in-between)

-Mortal Kombat II

-Hard Drivin' (1989) / Race Drivin' (1990) (Arcade) playing either in the full, sit-down cabinet was f*ckin' awesome, admit it... if you've ever played them that way )

-San Francisco Rush (Arcade / N64)

-WWF Wrestlefest (Arcade 1991)

-Rally-X (Arcade, 1980) Entirely personal opinion, I guess!

-Centaur (1981, Pinball)

-Bride of Pinbot (1991, Pinball)

-Robocop (1990, Pinball)

 

Admittedly, I am a weird f*ck. And everything after Need for Speed II, while things I believe in, were added for what I perceived as entertainment value while being in a drunken haze.

V is away from being the best game ever for me, very far away, soo much that I only start it up so I can start Online from Invite Only.

 

Online too is not the best, it's very addicting but it also has way too many critical flaws to be the best, still does well IMO.

 

For these games to best, they would have to beat this list:

 

-GTA: San Andreas;

-GTA IV;

-Zelda: Ocarina of Time;

-Chrono Trigger;

-Final Fantasy VI;

-Gran Turismo 2;

-Need For Speed High Stakes;

-Need For Speed Underground 2;

-Crash Bandicoot 3;

-Crash Team Racing;

-Resident Evil 3.

 

Damn, I got a nice nostalgia trip from just listing these games...Good times.
