Arrows to Athens

IV had custom lobby options, ... Cops n' Crooks was the best game mode, and I spent so many damn hours on it.

This times 1,000.

For me CnC blows any PvP mode from GTA Online out of the water, and then some. For me it is a game in itself. I don't think I will love another game or play it as much again in my lifetime.

GTAO does do better on co-op though where heists are simply sublime. And character progression and Freemode is generally more varied and interesting.

Agreed. Cops 'n' Crooks is a game mode that actually makes sense. You play as cops and chase down the mafia criminals, or you are the mafia criminal and are being hunted by the cops. The title of the game is GTA, isn't it? Why are we getting flying meme cars instead?

My perfect game:

1. Diverse open world *check

2. Customizable female protagonist *check

3. Customizable classic cars *check

4. Large variety of different activities *check

5. Friendly player community *xxxxx has destroyed your personal vehicle...

So not perfect, but still the best game I've ever played. GTA: San Andreas is a masterpiece with it's insanely diverse story and map, but I've played GTA: Online constantly and much more passionately since it's release.

GTA V is a fine game, probably among the best if not the best at the time of its release.

But GTA Online on the other hand... It was always the stuff you did together with other people that made it great. The activities offered by R* were never that good. For example, R* could not build good races if their life depended on it, but player-created races can be excellent (or as excellent as possible with R* still keeping some very useful toys to themselves, like removal of pre-existing props). Or take freeroam stuff: the things R* reward you for are somewhere between okay-ish and mind-numbingly terrible, but if you get creative and build your own freeroam activities together with friends you can have loads of fun. They are pretty good at providing the world and the tools, but they are just the worst when it comes to actually doing something with that. Their hit percentage in that regard is quite a bit below what you would statistically expect just from random chance alone, and most of it is due to corporate greed and a toxic community that R* desperately want you to mingle with (due to mentioned corporate greed).

GTA Online's potential was great, though, so maybe it is the best game ever ruined. We will never know, because that ship has sailed.

*should have been* and *could have been*. but it isn't and that's entirely the management of Rockstars fault, I hope they are happy

I said GTA V is a mediocre sequels but the Best PC Game ever made but still, GTA IV is my favorite game because of Liberty City, Better storyline and bowling.

And also I said GTA Online is the 2rd least favorite GTA Game besides Advance because these kids keeps getting my a*s-kicked every time when i start a new session.

In conclusion:I said GTA V are closest to best game but Worst storyline, Terminator Cops and sh*tty Strangers and Freaks mission excepts Tow Missions.

Like the freedom to play the game like the title suggests and steal a high end car, oh wait.

No. It's number 2 for me. Number 1 is Red Dead Redemption by a huge margin.

I voted yes. The game has yet to bore me. I enjoy playing it and taking photos. I enjoy cruising around; even if I've been on the same stretch of road a thousand times  The creator is also another reason.

Hahaha, yes there are some limitations, but, yeah we can't have it all

Not really. GTA V isn't perfect, but it could have had a lot of potential like DLCs which was wasted away on crappy Online. Damn Cockstar.

Best game ever made for the publishers to make money? Yes.

Best game ever made for the gamers to play? No. Not even close.

It could have been if not for obnoxious 12 year old tryhards and stupid prices.

one of which i've dealt with thanks to money glitches

In terms of replay value, it surely is one of the best games ever made, because it has kept me entertained for nigh on five years, and that is fairly impressive in the wake of some of the other titles out there.

A good half of the players though are the most whining, unrealistic and self-entitled man-babies out there.

The other half are just twats.

Yellow Dog with Cone

Is Grand Theft Auto V / Online the best game ever made?

That's an odd way to spell Grand Theft Auto Vice City.

Seriously, that game was Outrun before Outrun was a thing!

Outrun as in the musical genre/aesthetics, not the classic racing videogame that inspired said genre

It could be the best but R* decided to invest more into...??? then invest in quality dedicated servers.

I know that taste is subjective but I never get why Vice City is widely considered as The Empire Strikes Back of the GTA franchise. It didn’t really do much for me, and I grew up in the 80’s

I remember being blown away by Doom on our work computers back in the early 90's. At the time we couldn't have imagined anything better than that. I would sit with the night dispatchers and play that stupid game until we got a call. We would laugh our asses off playing that thing. Imagine trying to play Doom I or II today. I would be shocked if it help my interest for more than a couple of minutes.

The next revolutionary game for me was Wing Commander Prophecy in '98 with the video cut scenes that made the drab and boring game seem awesome. Mark Hamil was the main character.

Then the Battlefield games start coming out. Battlefield 1942 might be my all time favorite video game even though it lags behind in technology of the GTA and other games there was just something about it, the multiplayer was really good. We had capture the flag games that were the most popular. I played with the same group of guys for probably 5 years. Then we had a modded server with flying jeeps and tanks LOL. Just good fun. Damn I miss those BF 1942 days.

GTA on line does not encourage the teamwork that BF1942 did. You could not see the blips of the enemy players because there were always 2 teams so you had to inform your team when you saw an enemy sniper or scout. Then you tried to kill him but too often he had back up hiding somewhere else. GTA on line usually is just a bunch of lone wolfs causing problems and killing everyone in site.
