This post must be filled with low K/Ds bitching about others using the variety of weapons and tactics Rockstar gives us in a sandbox game

We should all be using pistols in freeaim. Matter of fact that's all I used on one new character, and I reached a 8.00 k/d ratio. with just the pistol.

It was because I was already good

My main 1st character/ account is struggling at 2.10 but Im working on it.

 

K/D ratios mean absolutely nothing when all it takes is glitches and/or whimp tactics to pad it. No one gives a care about the K/D ratio at all, and the people that think it actually means something don't have a clue. It's like with the level rankings, and people thinking the higher level the player has automatically makes them have more skill, which is far from the case.

 

and most of the people with those higher k/d ratios tend to be the players who hide in Hydra's and grief entire sessions and if someone hits their Hydra with a rocket and causes it to start smoking they instantly activate passive mode, and bail out of the hydra and call in for another hydra... all because they think the K/D ratio actually means something when it does not.

 

no one has complained about the K/D ratio here, however people (myself included) have brought up the whimp tactics people use to pad this useless and meaningless stat when responding to the question that this thread is based around.

 

Most people actualy do care...but yes...its as overrated as the musket...sure it can mean something...but in general it just means the higher the killdeath ratio, the greater the asshole or the bigger the obsession over it

There's definitely a time and place to use an RPG, I use it to kill people behind cover sometimes and to defend myself against armoured Kurumas and the like. What I don't like, or admire might be more accurate, is people who are so bad with normal guns that the only way they can kill you is RPG spam.

Okay, someone kills you and then runs off to his apartment, or even leaves. Just get over it, it's only one death. Don't know why some people get emotionally scarred for an entire day, just because some desperate player in need for a longer e-peen got a cheap kill on them and decided to flee the lobby, so they couldn't get back at them.

 

Mines outside LSC, however, are beyond annoying. Because this is becoming more of a common troll tactic, you have to now think twice before pulling into an LSC entrance. I seriously have to be cautious about modifiying or reparing my car because some high level douche has set sneaky booby traps everywhere? They're not easy to hear, especially when you're driving. You can barely see them too. And the problem is, is that once the mines have done the job, they go and get more and plant more again! Sometimes they plant each one at every LSC in the map, and now they've moved onto Pegasus entrances. Ridiculous. Rockstar don't think properly before they implement OP crap that can be abused into the game.

Shot a 200+ out of the jet with a comnbat MG as he flew down to kill me by locking onto him. He then came towards me for a gunfight, but out of nowhere, this guy fires an RPG at me while simultaneously taking the easy way out. He misses me, however. I realise he's one of those suicide warriors, so I ignore him and go drive off. I text him in-game, calling him out on his cheap and unfair tactics, but he proceeds to call me scared and goes on to that I suck at the game. I couldn't care less if he was better than me, but he had to use cheap and unfair tactics in order to get kills and not die himself. They're that desperate.

These are the only two things that should be on the poll. Everything else, apart from your mom perhaps, is legitimate gameplay.

BTW, Proximity Mines are the funniest weapon in the game. I usually plant 5 in one area so my victim thinks it's safe to go back. It's not lol.

There are some people who will kill you, put a bounty on you and send mercenaries and then go and hide in their apartment. Doesn't really bother me, as they're wasting their time trying to piss other people off all while sitting in their apartement. I just go on about my normal days on GTA Online. Doesn't affect me in the slightest.

Some of those listed above actually show some skills or out-of-the-box thinking, I'm talking specifically to the snipers on buildings, suicide bombers and out of the map players. The first is actually harder than it seems, requires one to take an opportunity of other players concentrating on an area of the map and quickly find a safe and effective spot to go in, and once up there being able to aim fast at long distances and being patient.

 

Others are the opposite just show the lack of skills like going into passive or to the same house, but about the first ones, like has already been said, people who criticize is just because they get caught by it. If I leave LSC and some dude blows my car, that was unnecessary but what can I do? Same if I'm playing thinking everything is under control when suddenly get killed by a guy standing on a building 2 or 3 blocks away. Strategy has the surprise factor but it's something normal that's why people spend time planning the attack rather than just driving arround on an Insurgent. If you're good enough you can get a revenge by plan a counter attack, what were you guys expecting? Messages to pop out like "player X is standing on a building with a sniper rifle" or "are you sure you want to leave LSC? Player Y is standing close to it with a homing missile". It seems from somebody that the best planning that can do is to fly a jet shooting everybody or drive arround an Insurgent.

I've actually just had to deal with a player that uses nothing but RPG's (and then commits suicide once he fires his rocket), a Grenade Launcher and the Marksman Sniper. Apparently not being able to move at all because (or hiding, in his case) makes me a pussy that has no skill.... Mkay.

(it doesnt happen many times, usually others leave) but there isnt much i can do in passive.. i used to get another jet in passive, but im bored with jet fight.. just wanna make my sniper skills better. afterall, its gta.. rpg, sniping, sticky bombs, jets, tanks, passive mode.. its all part of the game so we should count on everything.. i never trust passive fckers.. sometimes i follow them off the radar to the airport to blow up their hydra before they get in.

Edit: i always kill myself if u hit me with your sniper bullet once, or too many cops are after me, or if u just know my location so u probably have a plain againts me, or if ur off the radar

I call the complainers, Controlling personalities, Cause other players don't cooperate and obey in their neat little box, they whine about it. But then again, control type personalities fit in well with real life, ( building up civilizations, making laws, rules etc), but in a freeroam sandbox imagination game, their criticism on how others play gets annoying, lol

In the case of passive abuse, I don't want to dictate to them. I want R* to dictate, by fixing that cheap sh*t. It's an exploit and it has only two real counters: use passive yourself, or keep a weapon trained on them 24/7. These are not realistic counters, sorry. Neither is leaving the session or running away, before you suggest those. Those are the ways you can avoid exploiters, as well as modders and glitchers; they are not combat tactics.

 

I've reached a point where I assume anyone defending passive abuse is a drooling moron. In a shooter game where score is kept and game balance is theoretically a design goal, a mechanic like this, without any real limitations on its use, is incredibly stupid.

I played against a guy in freeroam yesterday, let me Tell you of his "playstyle":

 

1. Invisible body, only head was visible

2. RPG followed by suicide tactic

3. First person Marksman rifle mating dance

4. Took two shots of damage? Suicide

5. Jet griefing, as soon as jet went down, passive mode

6. 8.40 K/D that is obviously padded

7. Sent me a screenshot of his 450M$ along with the message "money to burn, son" (metaphorically showing me his dick)

 

Before I lost connection to the session we were 12v12 and he was in passive slow clapping at me. I took his K'D down a bit to about 7.50-ish. Now I want you to imagine what that score would look like if he played without using glitches or abusing passive mode.

I don't see anything wrong with sniping unless they're camping, headglitching or using the marksman. If you disagree then I'm sorry you have to live without your autoaim, corner camping, and that rediculous rolling. Just pick up a sniper, practice, and stop making excuses to not have to start over with a different skill. Snipers are basic, and appropriate for at least half of all combat situations, I've only ever seen low ranks complain about them, and the complaints are always groundless.

 

And the average kdr is not .7-.8 to whomever said that, that is statistically impossible.
