PSN will be back on, and for the heads chanting "entitled", I 100% agree that this is the "entitled" generation and everyone gets a participation medal. Everyone has the right to do alot of things including being a whiny little bitch. He paid for it, I get it. So did alot of us. Things happen, running a business isnt an easy thing to do. And one thing I've learned is you cant make everyone happy. I bet a majority of the people really affected by this never posts things like, "wow, im really impressed with _____."

 

The easiest thing to say is, "oh well he paid for it he can be mad." Maybe you should have some thoughts of your own on the issue. I know some people cant handle to be called out!

Downtime/Maintenance was never the exact problem. Everyone would be fine with it if it was either scheduled or done at a time when most people wouldn't be using it. People do deal with it, but they do have every right to complain assuming they are a paying customer.

I think my thoughts have been made quite clear, I'm not happy with it either, but I'll survive, of course technology isn't perfect, but it is Sony that make it worse than it has to be.

PSN is sh*t - I even said the same on here a few months back and got attacked for it. Sorry but it's true.

 

FYI; I own a gaming PC, PS4, Xbox One as well as all the previous gen consoles - I ain't no fanboy.

I have to disagree. Just because there is an issue now, and there have been issues in the past, it does not mean it's sh*t. I've been using the PSN since it became available and it's only been offline a small number of times, considering how long it's been there. People are just spitting dummies because they can't do what they want right now this minute!

 

Have you used Xbox Live? I don't even remember a time it was offline other than the Lizard squad attack last year and it was back DAYS before PSN came back online.

 

PSN has been down multiple times for long periods (hours, not minutes) since I switched to PS4 JUST LAST YEAR. and lets not forget the information breaches and that nearly month long outage in 2011.

 

In comparison to other nearly identical services. I think its within reason to call it sh*t.

 

I did use XBL, yes, but comparison between the two is not what we were talking about. If we were then I would have brought up the 6 years of free PSN, and the fact that it's almost always scheduled maintenance, not problems, that cause PSN to be down.

 

I was just saying I disagree and that to call something that's as heavily used and as often flawless "sh*t", is incorrect.

 

Never used PSN when it was free, so I'm probably expecting it to be as good as my previous service. And as a free service it was probably fantastic.

 

When it works, its as advertised, but it's reliability is highly in question. Is it flawless?... uh no. Is it sh*t?... not really.

 

It was exactly the same as it is now, and I believe you must have your own issues with it if it's down as often as you describe, because that really is not my experience. But, different regions could mean different results. Seriously, apart from maintenance periods I've not known it to go down that often, apart from the obvious times, and it's been online for over 9 years (and is still free for PS3 users).

 

I'd recommend looking into it if you do have that much of a problem, because you shouldn't. Put your PS4 in a DMZ (if it's not) and see if it improves.

seeing as we are on opposing thirds of the world Japan Canada and the UK we've probably experienced different amounts of maintenance downtime. I know most of the downtime I have to deal with is from maintenance rather then unexplained downtime.

 

I also don't see a big difference between maintenance downtime and unexplained downtime. downtime is downtime and it's something that I was not used to dealing with on Xbox.

 

I can really only judge something based on other experiences with a similar product if I had never used an iPhone an old Nokia probably wouldn't seem like sh*t but considering I know how an iPhone works an old Nokia is sh*t in comparison. If you don't compare the two an old Nokia is a perfectly fine cell phone
