Heists should be locked until the player reaches level 50?

Only players who have already played heists should be allowed to join a heist.

Ehmm. Right... People have to start somewhere? You are essentially saying that if you haven't played a Heist by now, then you shall never be allowed to?

Ehmm. Right... People should have to host and complete their own heists before being allowed to join others, so at the very least they've done it once before. Sounds reasonable to me.

That was a joke.

I argued for level locked heists about 8 months ago. At this point, watching people fail is it's own form of entertainment.

I wasn't joking. It makes sense to force people to complete their own heists first. That way when they join a random heist, they at least have some idea of what needs to happen. Then they can learn from more experienced players. How else would you do it?

If we lock heists to level 50, we'll just have level 50 players that don't know what to do. We're back to square one. Being good at heists comes from replaying them, not from being a high level.

That's assuming people would even stick around to level 50 without being allowed to play heists... Stealing cars for Simeon from level 0 to 50. Sounds like a riot lol.

No, because it would effectively be discriminating against bad players. If you don't want to play with low skilled players, either don't play with randoms or kick them. Use LFG threads or get friends.

I have a level 45ish character I started for playing on PC, because I was bored of being a high level. Just because I'm a low level doesn't mean I'm a bad player, it just means I don't have a minigun

I think this idea is well-intended. I would rather play with high levels rather than low levels. I don't care if there are these low levels who "never die" or are better than these high levels supposedly.

I haven't seen them. So, yes. Level lock these heists. They should've never been unlocked at 12. A level 12 can barely take fall damage or tackle on Merryweather mercs in contact missions.

On that note of contact missions, I had to grind and learn the hard way when this game launched. I earned my way due to experience and trial after trial. No way some low rank should be allowed to play heists with their low damage resistance and high percent of botching it.

I did all the heists with my brother, who got a PS4 for Christmas, and he started at level 4. He only died a couple of times throughout the 5 heists.

As long as the low level:

1) Listens

2) Has a utility vest

3) Doesn't try to do too much

They're fine. Unfortunately, very few low levels meet any of those criteria, let alone all 3.

We did Humane Labs - Valkyrie last night with a level 9 random and no Kurumas, passed first try. The stealth mission didn't go as well, so we got someone else, but if he had just let us do it, he would've got a pretty sweet pay day for a level 10/11 doing nothing as the Gunner in the finale. BTW, nothing is more awesome than the ground team taking out Merryweather with melee weapons on that finale

It's a mixed bag out there it really is. I have completed pax standard with very low levels without much trouble and have nearly lost hair trying to complete it with others, the exact same thing can be said for players level 200+

But here is my question for you: if their level is revealed to you and you can refuse to do it with them, then what is the problem? Why do we need a blanket rule? I have thrown out the scenario of the very experienced player who starts over with a new character and is more than capable, even with limited equipment. This just smacks of elitism to me even if you don't realize it.

I would still see them as a liability even if they started over with a new character. It's just a kneejerk reaction to seeing a low level. Instantly when I see a < 20 join, I think, "low damage resistance and little experience". I don't judge them as a player per se, but their ability to heist is frowned upon by me.

Also, I see and understand your point about removing them from my lobby before they could even play. That's a viable solution, but I think it would be a bit time consuming to have to remove people over and over again, sifting through competent players.

It's fun how some people here think players somehow think like the Sims. You know, you have your Sim attending at a computer store. If he plays videogames everyday and go to work focused he'll magically be capable of working as a programmer.

As it was already said, learning comes from practice. Each heist has it's own strategies and tricks, mastering the previous totally doesn't mean you'll be good at the next, just locking you until a certain level to be able to learn them. I played tons of times each setup, each final, to learn from other players and with my own mistakes, the best way to do things without failing. Seeing videos on YouTube, reading strategy topics or just having the max health doesn't make it, and I should remind all those people who complain all the time about the "noobs", that they are so stupid and keep dying, that long ago, before you were the mighty master players that you are now, the I-can-survive-the-cops-to-get-my-Kuruma-because-bikes-are-sh*t-and-fek-C*, you also committed mistakes because you weren't understanding the goals or didn't knew what you had to do next, and you also committed many understandable mistakes, so I think you all should try to respect and not make new players feel ashamed.

The only point I agree with this idea is to make it feel more interesting to continue levelling up by getting actual new game features as you play the game.

No, it's been like this for a sh*t ton of time now.

Theres no need to suddenly change this out of the blue.

Fair enough. Here is something else for you to chew on--from time to time, it is difficult to enlist four people to do a heist unless you are coming to them with the finale. At least keeping it open allows me to roll the dice with an unknown rather than not play it at all. I used to like to try and do it with noobs to try and teach them the game, but have long given that up. But this could appeal to some. All of this is in addition the the experienced guy with a new character scenario. I just don't see the reason to lock it based on a level that doesn't really reflect skill.

Sounds like some elitist garbage to want to force a level limit for some. I'm something like level 155 and have played since day one but in no way would I ever wan to screw over lower level players like that. I'd rather want to help them and get them some good cash and unlocked good weapons...and I dislike humanity so if anyone should have the view of limiting a section of people then it is someone like me. The again, a big reason why I am a misanthrope is that very elitist view some have.

Not everyone wants to spend their time grinding in the game (I remember it taking a good while to get to level 50) so why screw them out of taking part in what is arguably the most enjoyable mission/job aspect of the game?

If people are upset they get some newer players that may not have much skill then find some friends you can just do heists with instead of relying on random people or just suck it up and try and make those players better by offering some tips.

What Rockstar could do is offer the ability to have a minimum level for anyone to join your heist so those who don't want lower level players could have their wish

You, and many others, seem to gloss over the point of low rank = low stats. If that isn't enough of an incentive to restrict something as in depth as heists, then I just don't know...When deciding on teammates, do you want a team that has been around a minute, has developed stats and can take some unavoidable damage or do you want some overachieving, ammo wasting, weapon restricted, driving impaired, virgin stamina'd greenhorn trying to run with the big dogs but dies in 4 unavoidable shots...? The density of some of you.

Only players who have already played heists should be allowed to join a heist.

Won't there be a chicken and egg problem with that?

Recently I've seen players as low as rank 10 complete hard difficulty heist finales on first attempt.

False

I suspect you are a troll, but what I said earlier was true.

Besides after 2 years of GTA Online, most low rank characters are probably second characters of 2 year veterans.

So higher rank restrictions on heists would be pointless.

Imagine if it were level locked to 50 when the heist update came out. Less people doing them and watching the long cut scenes would have made the update stable. Instead too many people were doing them and everything was an unstable mess that took weeks to fix.

I suspect you just throw the word 'troll' around a lot.

You can tell if it's a second character by their K/D (the one use it has lol).

Higher rank restrictions would get the job done.

I'm so glad none of you will ever have the chance to make a big AAA game because if some of you had full control over everything, the game would flop hard.

Level locking heists to level 50 would lock away heists for a large percentage of online players, if you're on ps4/PS3 go look at the trophies and see how few people have hit level 50.

A game like GTA has to have the vast majority of its content available to everyone as quick as possible, if not immediately. You cannot lock away the most anticipated and hyped content from the majority of the user base and expect people to be okay with it.

If you don't want to play with low levels ... Don't play with them.

And you're calling other people dense.

Niko the awesome

Did bikes setup with a rank 30 today. He died 3 times. Somehow he managed to flip the bike upside down near a wall, then the bike blew up, then he quit. Yeah i can see that low levels are REALLY skilled in this game.

Lol I did the bikes setup with a low level that grabbed the wrong bike. He didn't understand the blue dot was the bike he needed to take. He died once and quit after that.
