To be fair, if you read the OP, I wasn't complaining about modding at all. I actually think that modding isn't a huge issue in PC (read: game is still enjoyable even with them), but not being able to get away from them because the sessions are locked for whatever reason is the issue.

I'm assuming PC? If so I think PC version has some like super strict region matchmaking that is highly likely to keep putting you back in the same lobbies.

Switching to console is a downgrade to be honest, I don't mean that offensively. Just based on fact. Rockstar has to install a proper anti-cheat.

 

In before I get banned for being given money while I was AFK. That's honestly the only thing that im scared of, getting banned because I happened to be there

Because sometimes they are a problem and when they are I would like to be able to switch. And I haven't emailed rockstar not sure they csn do much about session locks.

Look at VAC for example.Why can't R* implement something similar into GTA Online?Because they don't give a sh*t about PC,X360, and Ps3, that's why.

 

We were the last platform to receive the game.Why?Because they couldn't care less about us.

 

But they'll have to do something I guess, because XOne and PS4 will be 'modded' too, sooner or later, just like old-gen .

I was just in a session and discovered that it was a mod haven. I counted at least 4-5 modders in it. One of them wrecked my yacht by bombarding it with planes, another gave me a bit of money (few hundred k) while I was afk answering the door. I leave the session to go to another. It has 4 people in it. I switch again, I find myself in the modder one. I switch again and agaisn and it just alternates between these two. The modder one with 20 players and the other with 4 players. How is this fair at all?

 

If a ton of people play this game then why I am being placed in one of two sessions?

Because PC match making sucks, always has, always will, they've had more then enough complaints about it since PC launch in April 2015, and thus more then enough time to do something about it, they haven't, at this point most of us assume they don't give a f*ck.

The same goes for the modders on PC, but the big problem there is the connection system, instead of dedicated servers like what would be normal for PC, they went with this silly Peer to Peer system that makes it very easy for modders to stay undetected while they are doing it, they actually can only tell someone has been running illegal stuff after the fact trough logs, or if someone posted a video about it.

 

The best advice for PC players to avoid modders is to stay either in an Invite Only session, either alone or with friends, or in a crew session (as long as you're sure no one in your crew is modding of course), if you choose public lobby sessions, then it's at your own risk.

It's not advice I like to give, as PC only player myself, but it's the reality of the matter, and you just have deal with that.

[EDIT] Also, about the "super restrictive matchmaking" mentioned above, that's nonsense. I'd recommend checking that you haven't accidentally switched to free-aim though.

They may or may not be able to do something, but if you actually want it to be fixed then asking here will definitely not change anything. Submit a ticket or stop complaining, basically, are your only options.

Doubt it, Sony made one mistake once. It took years to find and the hole was secured. I dont believe the ps4 will be beaten within its service life.

Guess thats the trade off for having a much better looking version of the game..

That's just the way it is unfortunately, as it was with GTA 4. I'm a Steam player and trust me on there the number of complaints about modding is ridiculous.

 

Just gotta switch sessions or go with invite only. Not ideal but I'm afraid you'll just have to take it on the chin and move on...

The original disk? For the PS3 and X360, which a lot of PC players didn't own, because they're not going to buy a console for the one or two exclusives a year that they might possibly like, let a lone a console's that at the end of it's life cycle and is going to be replaced within a year, by the PS4 and XB1 respectively......yeah that's some gooooood logic you got there for sure.... /sarcasm

He plays PC, most of us PC players use Free Aim cause of Mouse and Keyboard, you'll find plenty of modders with Free Aim turned on on PC

I'm on PC since day one (and game every day) I've seen cheats like killing entire lobby or spawning "sh*t" or money, and it is annoying... but, if I see a cheater I switch session - problem solved. There are a lot of sessions, and I don't recall ever switching back in the same session.
Also if you are a moron and play with auto-aim then please don't complain on cheater as you chat yourself.
And stop calling cheaters per "modders".

Only thing truly annoying are Rockstars servers and matchmaking... but I've seen that is the case on consoles as well.
And the point that Rockstar doesn't give a f*ck about PC is a joke. Game on PC looks twice as good as on consoles. Only reason why the game was on consoles first was to sell it twice, and only reason why games are on consoles at all, is because poor US kids can't afford (or are too stupid to build) a proper PC (there is also laziness factor in those fat morons).

As I followed up to Carimbo, of course there's auto-aim. PC players have the option to use Xbox, Playstation, or a plethora of other controllers to play GTA.

 

I have a console, and choose to play on PC because it's a far superior platform. Getting killed by the odd modder (which is solved by switching session), is a small price to pay to be able to play the game the way it's meant to be played: 1080p+ @ 60+FPS. My game looks and runs so much better than it does on any of the consoles, modders just don't phase me at all. Not to mention they bought my yachts for me.

 

 

 

Sarcastic "Master Race" comments are pretty funny, to be honest. It comes across as very salty when you're playing at 30FPS with terribly aliased picture, vegetation pretty much turned off etc, etc, etc.

1- this is a fan site, not the place to be addressing R*. Do that on their support site

 

2- obviously your issue is some sort of connection trouble. This isn't an issue that R* caused anyway. Try contacting your internet provider and asking them why you're having trouble connecting to anyone aside from a small % of people online.
