Rockstar how is this fair to us players?

I was just in a session and discovered that it was a mod haven. I counted at least 4-5 modders in it. One of them wrecked my yacht by bombarding it with planes, another gave me a bit of money (few hundred k) while I was afk answering the door. I leave the session to go to another. It has 4 people in it. I switch again, I find myself in the modder one. I switch again and agaisn and it just alternates between these two. The modder one with 20 players and the other with 4 players. How is this fair at all?

 

If a ton of people play this game then why I am being placed in one of two sessions?

The PC is Rockstar's buffer zone for hackers. They had to accommodate for them somewhere, and you just happen to be on that platform.

It's pc I mean that's modders hell what did u expect. Gta iv was modded to hell on pc that was going to be the same in v. R* won't put a proper anti cheat so that's it for pc if ur a legit player.

A downgrade? Look what you have to deal with. I have both ps4 and PC version and I do not play PC version online. Its not worth it. I spend more time trying to find a new session with out a modder. I regret buying it.

My personal stance on mods, is that I don't care as long as it's not annoying and I won't be banned for it if I don't do it although it might affect me.

 

I saw a guy making his character play the guitar. Did nice sounding music. Pretty innocent, even pleasant and cool. Im fine with that.

 

The dude who spawns trees on everyone or kills everyone, f*ck him.

 

The dude who gives me money, im cool with that as long as I don't get banned for it.

 

There's many faces to it. And even if PC is the modding haven, rockstar can defintely do something about it such as using steam's VAC system which would destroy anyone using mods in online play. I heard at the reason why they don't want to use it is because steam would get a share of the profits. And I'll take that back, not Rockstsr, but rather Take Two.

I never said that's what it's like, but that's what it's felt like for me anyways. I could be totally wrong though.

Unfortunately the only options are solo session, don't play the game at all or play on current gen mod free consoles.

If its a downgrade for you have fun with the modfest then.

Also rockstar will not ban you for that and a propper anti cheat is probably never gonna happen on any console

[EDIT] Also, about the "super restrictive matchmaking" mentioned above, that's nonsense. I'd recommend checking that you haven't accidentally switched to free-aim though.

to be honest i think rules for pc players are bit more strict than for console players...

 

for instance me and my kid have received unrequested money drops on ps3, i get to keep the money while my kid get his modded money removed by the anti-cheat system(yes theres an anti-cheat system on ps3), none of us get banned for receiving/spending the money.

 

according to many people on the support site, the banhammer dropped on them for receiving/using modded money.

Of course, we can use Xbox or Playstation controllers, or any number of others. I play in auto-aim, use a controller to drive/fly/shoot close quarters, and the mouse to snipe, because I'm a scumbag.

GTA Online is a single player game on PC unfortunately. I'm not going back to 30FPS and inferior visuals just to play with other people so invite only sessions it is.

 

Only time it really sucks is when you need to do a really crappy multiplayer objective, like a rally or something.

 

Best advice I can give you is to find a crew. Play with people you trust.
