Ausrichter
With the huge emphasis on GTAO with GTA V, I fear that GTA VI's SP will lack in content and story. I, personally, do not enjoy GTAO but love the SP. I hate seeing the online get all the cool stuff while SP gets little to nothing. theGTAking101
I don't think they'll need to put as much time into Online for VI, since it's already there. They'll just have to make a few tweaks. I'm staying optimistic that the SP experience will be a huge improvement over V's. American Viking
American Viking
I'd be lying to say I wasn't at all concerned because I am. Single player has been treated like a redheaded stepchild in GTA V and it's actually rather infuriating. I'm expecting another half assed single player experience to be honest. GTA Online is their baby now, and us single player guys...y'know...the guys who've been here since day one, we're getting less and less. ClaudX
Every time I see one of these types of topics, I want to slam people's heads into a brick wall. Look at the long history of single player experiences in GTA. We cannot let one stain of an experience affect how we view the future. That's rash and unintelligent. Many people thought that the direction that GTA IV took would lead to a series of future installments that were dark and gritty. Did that happen with V? Not at all, and some people hated that. Some people embraced this change and variety of the series. If GTA VI has a stripped down multiplayer due to a focus on single player, some people will hate it, and others will enjoy it. Here's a series I'd like to use for a comparison: Assassin's Creed. Anyone who played Unity believed that the series was going downhill and that the future titles would automatically suffer because of the failure that was Unity. The exact opposite happened with Syndicate, and it became a success. Do not let one failure distort your view of a great company and their future decisions. GamesBoy316
I am a bit worried, but anything can happen. If Singleplayer for GTA VI is like GTA V, then it's safe to say that Rockstar is like other companies out there where it's all about online. Speaking of which I feel the Assassin's Creed games without multiplayer are much better. Look at Syndicate. It doesn't have multiplayer and IMO it's the best Assassin's Creed since II. It already has story DLC unlike you know... R* won't abandon GTAO, but even though I have my concerns I'm not going to let GTA V's shortcoming dampen GTA VI too much. It could be a game I love as much as GTA IV and VC. Maybe R* might lighten up by that time and get back to giving single player TLC again. PhillBellic
Yes I am. I'm worried that the Next Game will feature an even more watered down Single Player offering, one that has even less Unique, and Intriguing Content than GTA V (or the Preceding Games). Osho
No. I am done with series. Its pretty clear to me that VI will be not much different in terms of the disappointments I had with V and the fact that the direction won't change. A matter of time. But I am not building any hope of a better SP in the form of GTA 6, whatsoever
Lemoyne outlaw
i loved the gta 5 singleplayer. even without a singleplayer dlc. but like everyone else i do agree that it was way to short. im not worried yet. im hoping rockstar will realise they left so many of us in the dark without singleplayer dlc. lolznc
There is no denying that V has been a commercial success for R* so in that respect it could well influence the future direction. I'm thinking VI will be a melting pot of all the best features of the series. So naturally yoga Perhaps the development of Online - a massive undertaking, considering the scale compared to IV's multiplayer - did drive resources away from the single player development. In which case, logically Online needs less work and so single player development should once again be the primary drive for VI. So unsurprisingly, I'm sitting on the fence. As ever
Shadowfennekin
(I didn't even touch Unity..... did you see the size of that patch?) I hope they don't leave VI's SP in the dust. Online can stay, just update both and not one over the other. It's not like SP DLC wouldn't add stuff for Online..... And for f*ck's sake. Hopefully they can nerf weapons/tanks in Online without ruining it for SP. I'll never let the tank being ruined thing go. -_- Ausrichter
TheDiablo
Im not worried at all. I think the story in VI will impress us all as Vs story sadly failed on us abit. spider91

Neon-Noir 198X
They'll focus on whatever churns the most profit. That said, I fully expect the next GTA to have a lacking singleplayer experience once again. Osho
Big Mike
I hope not. I don't like online games. Too many trolls and assholes that prey on new characters. Also I loved the single player on V. The only thing that could make it better is if there was an option to call the other protagonists and rob a small bank or jewelry store or other slightly profitable place. No prep except going and picking up the other characters. It could be a non-mission thing like robbing those 24/7 gas stations or hanging out with a friend. Although I kind of expect R* to make the same mistakes with gta 6 that Ubisoft made with Assassin's Creed Unity. They're going to focus too much on online and it will probably suck. spider91
Yes, I'm somewhat worried, not only because of their emphasis on Online, but also the quality of singleplayer of GTA V. Everything felt kinda shallow for me, it seemed they focused too much on resolving that "ludonarrative dissonance" thing. And in previous games satire was pushed to side a little, but in V it's all over the place. There were also some weird gameplay decisions, which left me confused, like that unexpected 30-minute triathlon after two 5-minute ones. And to be honest, I even thought at one point that they didn't know how to make that open-world interesting to play in (in singleplayer) So yeah, hopefully, GTA IV singleplayer will be better... Every time I see one of these types of topics, I want to slam people's heads into a brick wall. Look at the long history of single player experiences in GTA. I believe, the direction of the series changed again after GTA 4 due to criticism that was focused on IV. And Assassin's Creed Unity also was criticised. So, no wonder Syndicate was better. Players opinions matter, so I'm sure it's a good thing we express our worries on singleplayer here. Edit: I forgot to add, that my biggest worry is if the next GTA game is completely online-oriented, with no addition of singleplayer... ULPaperContact
If they create a singleplayer story even more lackluster than V's, there will be a riot at their doorstep. Grand Theft Auto is one of the most popular video game franchises in the world, and screwing over the majority of its fans would not be a good idea. Rockstar has to see that. spider91 and Algonquin Assassin
