They don't replace it, they are the middle man between the Kuruma & Insurgent.

Bullet Resistant Windows & can withstand a direct explosive shot.

 

There are plenty of threads discussing which ones are the best, look for them.

There's no need for another thread about it.

In general, The Karin Karuma is the best out of all of these.

Now, the new armored vehicles do come with completely bulletproof windows, and a small explosion resistance.

The catch is, after about 4 shots the windows will begin to break, and after 6-7 shots or so, they will break, leaving you vonderable,

meaning these vehicles are completely useless when it comes to machine weapons.

The Karin Karuma has semi-bulletproof glass that will not break.

However, the Karuma lacks a explosion resistance.

Also, an accurate shooter can easily cap you in a Karuma.

So I would say 50/50

If you want a stable but small explosion resistant car with fragile bulletproof windows, go for the new vehicles.

If you want a car without a explosion resistant shield but with bulletproof glass that promises to never break, go for the Karuma.

They all have the same resistance capabilities.

It all comes down to how much window you want on your car, since the car's have different shapes/sizes.

So it's personal preference more than anything.

Kuruma.

 

Because no breaking glass and it's agile enough to bring you out of sector of fire. It's hard to hit the narrow windows slits with bullets, but shotguns will be your choice to gut enemy Kurumas at close range. At the same time, the 3D person view doesn't restrict your firing, except in the back.

 

NPCs are stupidingly accurate - they always shoot directly at your hitbox, which is safely hidden behind the armor of the Kuruma. You gotta watch out for the enemies standing slightly above your level, though.

 

This is why new armored vehicles are pretty useless against NPCs. Every bullet by them is a bullseye.

Spack-spack-spack-whiplash-WASTED. With Kuruma, you can stand around hear bullets dinging for minutes.

The valkyrie. It's 3x the gun on rebel. It melts everything that isn't an insurgent.

But all boils down to basically what Alvarez said. It playing against NPCs use the Kuruma. If going against human players go with the Schafter V12 Armored.
