Before anyone sayes "Bitch and moan" please read this.

Anything I do to npc players EVEN if I didn't do anything to provoke them to fight me I mean for example: I walk around while talking to a friend and then a npc acts like a douche and runs me over and hauls it ( and no it wasn't a online player ) it was just me and a friend no one else, then after trying to kill the npc I get cops and when they arrived at the place, they shoot me even if I had a 1 star.....1 STAR... And even if I fight a npc just because he started the fight in the first place I'm to blame for his excuse for a fighter... The point of this topic is do you guys think that cops may be a little aggressive and brutal , if so tell us your story with the cops...

Yeah, turns out... murder is enough for the police to use lethal force on you.

In all reality, police are janky and have been little more than a massive inconvenience for a long time. If I had the ability to hack, the only one I would really consider using would be the disable wanted levels one, because that sh*t is f*cking irritating.

Yeah, it's a bit more than sh*t. If you bump into a cop whilst walking they start shooting you too.

For whatever reason, though, I've just been in a glitchy session where I couldn't get a wanted level at all. Some guy tried riding over me in his Kuruma and after repeatedly killing him I realised that I hadn't had one single police alert. So, I called the police and when the car turned up I RPG'd it - no police alert. I went to the impound and blew stuff up in front of cops - no police alert. I killed a cop in front of another cop and he just stood there, watching.

All in all that was easily the best few hours I've had on GTA. Cops need to nob off.

Once I was in my car, behind a cop car that was waiting for the green light. So I started beeping at it with my car. The cop got out of his car and started shooting me.

I doesn't matter. Whatever you do you get a wanted level. Once I seen 2 cops sitting in their police cruiser. Out of curiousity I wanted to see if shining a flashlight at them would provoke them. Sadly, it did and I got an instant 2 star wanted level.

Flashlight is a weapon. You aimed at them, it doesn't matter if it's a minigun or a flashlight.

eversince IV online , lacks the busted mechanic . so they make the cops shoot at you even in one star but escaping is obviously easy

however , the difference between these online mode is how to escape it ( IV online need move away from flashing zone and remain outside without getting spotted while O is just same as V )

Pretty much what I was going to say.

I remember doing the Station setup for Prison Break, and as I was walking out of the police station I slightly bumped into a cop and got a two star. Had to haul ass to the car so I wouldn't get killed.

Friendly reminder to all Europeans to not to get out of the car when stopped by a cop in America.

This can officially be interpreted as a threat.

That's true, but the flashlight must be coded different than other weapons because whenever I shine it at regular NPCs they don't panic and run off like they would with a gun.

police are way to lenient in GTA..... I stood infront of a cop and took my hat off and they didn't shot at me at all... in the US you would be dead in 30 seconds IRL :D

all joking aside yea cops can be a pain, I was just sitting parked up the other night a few blocks away from the mayhem, watching the squad cars tearing through town smashing into peds and traffic when one cop car drove into my perfectly parked lowrider and I get a bunch of heat!

I always seem to get a star when either by a police station/impound or the airport or any other place were cops congregate and get a hail of gun fire for something stupid...

im still at a loss as to why we carnt turn cops off.... I mean surely it would help the server run smother not having to worry about cop AI...

You're new here, aren't you? Cops are the worst. I'd pay real money for them to never disturb me ever. Especially during PVP freemode battles. f*ck that 1v1 death match.

They are in real life and the game mimics real life so yes they are in the game as well

LOL @ some of the stories in here. Rockstar has gone to great lengths to make GTA as a series more realistic as time has gone on. Cop reaction is definitely something they need to work on. The default reaction shouldn't be to shoot at first sight. It should be talking or getting arrested or citation etc. Bumping into a cop while running or tapping the bumper of a police cruiser shouldn't get you gunned down like a dog. That's just sad.

Well if I was a cop in Los Santos dealing with all these psychopaths running around with rocket launchers and full arsenals including Attack choppers and fighter jets I might have an itchy trigger finger too lol

The questions regarding the impossibly funded, limitlessly innumerable, and murderously fascist regime known as LSPD remain unanswered, even after all these years.

Why are they all but non-existent around the city, but commit a small infraction and they swarm, out of nowhere?
Why do they tell us to "get out of the car," only to shoot us dead?
Why do they never arrest us or give us warnings?

In the photo below, I stopped to take a Snapmatic pic whilst strolling in a crosswalk one day.
As soon as the photo was "clicked," both cops got out of their car, yelling at me, and putting shotgun blasts into me, killing me dead.
I was simply shocked, shaking my head in disbelief.

But to answer the question, no... I do not believe they are gangsters.
They are military-style enforcers, programmed into the game to force players to spend wads of money in hospital bills, car repairs, ammo, and pride.

Just my $2 bucks.
