I've been wanting a blimp in gtao forever. The yachts have me thinking the blimp could be a property that behave just as a yacht. R* could easily stick a helipad on the top and give it AA guns.

I was going to say that. Forget about helipad on top! I want a small runway between the two blimps. Yachts are for Helicopters... Blimps are for airplanes. (Just look at Indiana Jones/Up! Speaking of UP!, a luxury blimp like the Spirit of Adventure would be perfect. It would come with a hanger full of crop dusters with mounted machine guns, and anti air cannons)

To all the naysayers: we all secretly know that the real end game is the jetpack. When r* has dropped all the game-changing dlc, not withheld for gta6, they'll give us the jetpack, reality/immersion be damned. The jetpack will take us to the mothership, as depicted on chilliad. This is happening. Don't be the chicken on the other path.

There was a jetpack in Thunderball too. JB700 was just the beginning.

I would love something like the blimp ship thing in just cause 2 close to max altitude as a base. Spawn in there and have a max altitude jump down to the map. Small helipad to access the base.

I wonder how many people died in most of the pics on this thread? :s OP that is a fantastic idea and would be awesome. The blimps don't have to be like it is in single player (low health, too small) as R* could easily change that. Sure it would be unrealistic to see a blimp not blowing up if hit by an RPG but..... Exactly, could act as a secondary night club. In fact it could basically be like the strip club - it doesn't even need to be a property but could just fly around on the map. Two clubs are better than none and a mid air death match would be quite enjoyable to watch and/or take part in.

The actual cabin of the blimp is very small. It is not suitable for a property.

 

Came in to say this. The habitable portion of a blimp is too small to act as an apartment. It's basically like a cockpit on an airplane.

 

Also, even if it was upscaled as someone had suggested, it would still suck. Much like the yacht cannot sail the seas, a blimp that can't fly would be useless.

I can tell you're angry even though I was just simply answering your questions to the best of my ability using my opinions. I never intended for my post to be 100% objective, but simply replying back with an opposite comment. While I can't imagine this thread lasting much longer I will say this. Both of our answers contain opinions with (from you) I quote 'Awful, imagine all those 'sh*tty things floating around in the sky'. I didn't know that you did not support the Yacht, but I didn't include it because I thought otherwise. It was because R* created the Yacht with all of the points I brought on about what should be used on the Blimp (invincibility, defence systems etc.). If R* thought it was OK to include a property that was:

 

Slow (for the Yacht, motionless)

Defence filled

Had helipads + helicopters

Large

Easily attacked

 

Then why couldn't R* apply that to a Blimp? GTAF members hardly make up a large percentage of the overall GTAO community so you can't make assumptions upon their opinions, your friends, or anyone you know, that tells you that the majority don't like Blimps. We know people do like Blimps since their was a glitch which many attempted that brought the Blimp into online (I do believe someone posted it on this thread). Basically what I was doing was asking: 'If they did it for the Yacht, why can't they do it for the Blimp?'

Next, Yachts are typically something (private yachts of course) you would see Rich people have, and they have parties etc on them, fits well with what R* wanted users to use it for, now correct me if im wrong here, but I dont think very many rich people have a Blimp and have parties on that... above the skies of California... Doesnt fit well at all.

Also, Like ive stated several times before, I never said GTAF was the overal GTAO community, YOUR MAKING ASSUMPTIONS AGAIN, I too have friends that play GTA, I have a crap ton of people on my Twitter that play GTA, I am the leader of a crew with over 350 members, and believe it or not, I (honestly) only know of 3 people that like the Blimp.... Just 3, now of course ive not asked EVERYONE i know about the Blimp, but either way, its very unpopular, and heck, R* wouldnt bother to waste their time on something really unpopular, especially this far in GTA Development. Having all these modified Blimps flying around would honestly look like a crap modified GTAO... and we ALL know what RSG are like about Mods, they hate them, Im sure they dont want unrealistic stuff in their game on that extent which would be the typical Modded thing you may find.

AND... It wasnt just the Blimp used to bring it online, it was the 747's, the Cargoplane etc. Other things only in SP, thats all, and I dont see anyone else fussing over the Blimp and bringing it back through to GTAO.

I would LOVE it. If it were a property then it would simply be privvy to the same indestructible rule as all other properties.

It wouldn't be able to hold vehicles but you could use it as a floating base. One small apartment high in the sky overlooking whereever you want to be.

6) Model Memory... Trust me, massive objects in the sky is bad, and theres no way it would be able to move, same reason why the Yachts are IDLE.

8) It WOULDNT be invincible, meaning it needs to take damage, meaning a ton of respawning, calling back up, new location set ups etc. etc. etc.

9) Lets face it, Apartments are getting old, and theres not much you can even do in the air.

10) Its supposed to be a "property" or a "safehouse" meaning it pretty much needs to stay in one position and like ive already covered, its not going to work well like that.

To all the naysayers: we all secretly know that the real end game is the jetpack. When r* has dropped all the game-changing dlc, not withheld for gta6, they'll give us the jetpack, reality/immersion be damned. The jetpack will take us to the mothership, as depicted on chilliad. This is happening. Don't be the chicken on the other path.

There was a jetpack in Thunderball too. JB700 was just the beginning.
