Is this on lg? I dropped I mean I had dropped >:] 100 mill at a minute's time never got banned

Assets never gets taken away (I've been banned before)

PC
ohh pc modders most likely will get flagged but victims would not get banned

That's the thing. I don't know if they'll consider me a victim or not when they see me running around collecting money bags lol.

How much did you bank? Banking anything above 100k is automatically flagged.

100k? I thought it was anything over 1mill?

Please don't discuss how to cheat on these forums. This is not the place for it and I'm tired of doing my backseat moderator work for the day.

BTW, I'm on current gen and we don't have these problems. It's lovely :):):)

How long have you been playing? Were you around from the start on last gen?

Are we talking civilised now? At least I know you're OK 'most' of the time.

Yeah, sure, I've been here right from the start and got caught up in the billionaire cash drop about two years ago, when you killed a bounty and got a billion dollars in cash. So, yeah, I know what it's like to be a GTA online billionaire, and I'm guilty of that, and then I got that scary message from Rockstar telling me that all the money had been removed, but because I hadn't done anything wrong, etc, etc, I wouldn't be banned. It scared the sh*t out of me, and I have never been involved in anything like that since. I have never been banned and have moral standards that I live to. I understand it better now and realise why you shouldn't cheat, glitch, mod or anything else like that. Play the game the way it's intended to be played and hold you're head up high.

I got this info from the R* support and occasionally from GTA forums and Youtube but i do know that they remove modded money and told me that as long as i don't spend the modded money i received it would be no problem.

I believe you will get the modded money taken away i had money gifted to me once a while ago and contacted rockstar who just told me its no big deal the amount i was gifted will be taken away... but in your case because you DECIDED TO SPEND IT they will either

A) ban you for a long time or

B) your account will go into the negatives until to pay it back (so you would have -10,000,000 or how much modded money you have and will never be able to buy anything again till its paid off)

Had you done nothing and not spent that money and left it alone you would be fine but since you did have fun with a negative bank account in GTA, you should wait till next ban wave and hope for the best but my best guess is all your money and then some will be removed. Since you spent close to 10,000,000 for a yacht that's how much modded money you "owe" to R* basically if you have 1,000,000 left lets say ( of real NON MODDED money ) then you owe 9,000,000 still. Im going to assume your a poor player since you took modded money and then spent it meaning now you only have modded money left so you will likely go negative.

Probability's

1) banned although i believe #2 is more likely

2) remove all modded money and send you into a he11hole of debt in gta

If you do get sent into negative you are better off starting over unless your like rank 200 or something.

you make me wanna :miranda: you for spending the money. ( Im just kidding )

yeah, there is no way it is 100k that get your account flagged. I have banked well over 100k that I earned doing missions multiple times, and nothing has ever happened.

Yeah, you'll get banned. And why? Because you SPENT that money instead of contacting Rockstar Support to tell them about it. You should have contacted Rockstar Support BEFORE spending the money, otherwise you have no proof of your innocence and are now an accomplice to the crime. Sorry about that, it's technical stuff, but true.

Don't listen to this dork.

If you report your dropped money you will be 100% banned. It's best to just spend it all, DO NOT BANK IT, and you will be good to go.

Spend it all until you have $0.

He can bank it just fine if he's on last gen. I gifted myself countless billions and transfered over to PS4 a while ago without any problem. All of it being on bank.

Well I don't exactly know the sum.

Could be either, I have read that banking 1 mil in small amounts is safe.

@HeavyDuke, yeah, LG is literally a modder's paradise. Anti-cheat there is virtually non-existant, and reporting there never works lol.

So you had already spent it when you started the thread. All too late. You will have to wait and see but I don't think anything will happen.

So next time I'm given money bags I should just hold onto it and hang it on my wall...? Don't mean to come off as offensive...it just seems common sense to me that people will spend it asap.

No, come here first, b4 you spend it if a ban worries you. Guilt bought you here after. You created a profile here just for this. You were sh*tting yourself.

Yup, they will never remove any personal belongings.

They always remove the cash only, and leave you with only 2k.

They "always" remove the cash, lol.

Been at it a few times before then?

They always remove cash because that's what Rockstar normally does, and they even said it themselves.

I actually had almost no money after I got the yacht. I started doing jobs after the incident and I now have a few hundred K. So pretty much all the money that I have with me right now is legit.

This thread should be called "looking over my shoulder, part 26". I don't get why you guys, who love playing GTA online so much, put yourself through all this agony. I don't understand it? I've got everything I could ever want/need just from playing GTA online normally. GTA online will be around for decades to come, so why risk that? Oh, I give up...

That's exactly what I was hinting at. Rockstar were good enough to acknowledge that there most of us were not responsible for being gifted huge sums of money and said go enjoy it and later resolved most bank accounts.

I think they have the same attitude. Two wrongs don't make a right but let's face it, if someone drops cash 99% of the players out there will pick it up for whatever reason.

You're absolutely right, that's exactly what people do 99% of the time. You see a blip/green speaker symbol/cash bag on the map and you run towards it and pick it up.

But let's not discuss what people should or shouldn't be doing once they 'know' they've picked up illegal cash - that's their decision to spend it - nor the activities of people still modding all they like on last gen.

What Rockstar are now doing is making the game more dynamic in freemode, with the Events Update, Executives and Criminals update and all the VIP activities. I'm absolutely loving it, raking in 200-300k per hour, and then all the other stuff in between.

I came across this, which is why I didn't report it:

"Question: Do I need to report to Rockstar Games the fact that I was given a huge amount of modded money I didn’t want?

Answer: No, you do not need to report this. We are able to tell the difference, automatically through gameplay data, between the cheaters and the players who received this money innocently. Players who were willingly cheating are notified about any action taken against their account. If you were not cheating, you do not need to do anything further."

https://support.rockstargames.com/hc/en-us/articles/201617423--Updated-6-15-15-Update-on-GTA-Online-Cheaters-and-Modded-GTA-

Yes, that refers to people who didn't spend the money and just had that cash dropped into their account. Trust me, I have been on the Rockstar Support forums a lot and this sort of thing pops up regularly. Once you have SPENT the illegally modded money you are just as guilty as the person that dropped the money in the first place. It is called an 'accomplice' to the crime, and now you've friended that person, it's even worse. Next ban wave, you're doomed, sorry bruv.

Lies, that would mean that every time some asshole starts dropping money on everyone in the session, the few ten to hundred thousand dollars you pick up in between him starting to drop money and you hitting that "leave online" or "find new session" button needs to be reported to Rockstar, don't be daft, I stay mostly in Invite Only, but I also do the Time Trails each week, which means I have to go in a public session, even I got a over 100k in "gifted" money against my will.

And the whole you can't bank it thing, also false, they do these banwaves and account balances every few months, I am not holding on to all the cash I get legally till that time, nor do I feel like making an extended effort to calculate how much money some "generous" modder gave me before I managed to bail from that session, so I can only bank the cash I legally earn and still have all that modded cash on me.

Even Rockstar themselves say it, from their support forum:

Question: Do I need to report to Rockstar Games the fact that I was given a huge amount of modded money I didn’t want?

Answer: No, you do not need to report this. We are able to tell the difference, automatically through gameplay data, between the cheaters and the players who received this money innocently. Players who were willingly cheating are notified about any action taken against their account. If you were not cheating, you do not need to do anything further.

Question: Regarding the account balance adjustments, what if I already spent some or all of the money I was given by cheaters? Or what if I transferred it to a second temporary character?

Answer: We have taken all of these factors into account when making account balance adjustments. If you already spent some or all of the modded money you were given, you may find that your account balance after adjustment is lower than it was before you received the counterfeit money. This is correct as you will be allowed to keep the items you bought.

Question: How did you calculate the adjusted account balance for each player who was in possession of modded GTA$? What happened if deducting the amount of modded GTA$ from a particular account would have resulted in a very low, or negative, balance?

Answer: The adjusted account balances are the result of removing modded money. If you already spent some or all of the modded money you were given, you may find that your account balance after adjustment is lower than it was before you received the counterfeit money - this is correct as you will be allowed to keep the items you bought. Any unspent money from Shark Card purchases is also not affected. For accounts that would have been left with little or no GTA$ after correction, we added sufficient funds to continue playing and enjoying GTA Online, taking into account whether a player intentionally created and distributed modded GTA$ or received modded money innocently.

So in short, you don't need to report it, you don't have to be afraid if you bank it, you they'll make up the account balance afterwards, you keep all the stuff you bought.

Side question...I friended the "gifter" as thank you...is this a bad idea since it would connect me with him?

Yeah, you're f*cked basically. You're now a befriended accomplice to the crime, even worse.

You can not blame anyone for the actions of people on their friends list, I got a several people on mine who are people I only met through races, as I said above I spend most my time in Invite Only, and and when I race I invite these guys, outside of that we really don't meet, I don't know if one of them hacked or glitched money to buy that T20 he's racing, nor do I care, as long as he doesn't use hacks during the race we're good, am I now suddenly an enabler who needs to be banned as well, because of my lack of interest?

The real question is what system did you play on if it's last gen prob nothing will happen if it's CG you may get caught.

When Rockstar did Ban Waves in the past, if you were an innocent who received modded money nothing happened to you, but you couldn't give it to anyone else. So as long as you didn't enter a DNS modded lobby to attain it.

Retroview1955

Hi,

A player was dropping money bags on me after I said that he seems cool. Although I didn't ask for the money bags at all, I will admit that as they poured down I ran around and picked them up (while simultaneously telling the modder to stop/or that this is wrong, pathetically). I did not mod, nor did I ever mod. But at the same time I didn't try to switch sessions.

I have never been banned before. Do you think I will get banned? (Anyone know when the next ban wave is?)

Edit: I will add that the modded money gave me just enough money to buy a yacht, which I did immediately buy after. Will this affect if I get banned (if at all)? Will the yacht be taken away?

I'd tell Rockstar. For being honest, they may let you keep some of it. Trust me, I had a friend with 120 Billion GTA dollars get banned. If you have an obsene amount of money, that triggers a flag to your account for further investigation.
