The consequences are that you have your money taken anyway, only if you're caught with illicitly earned money. Rockstar have even stressed themselves that only the modder will get banned, not the one who received it.

I very much doubt you'll get banned. There's players glitching cash way beyond the amount required to buy a yacht and nothing happens to them. I wouldn't worry about it. Just carry on as normal.

 

Not saying it's right but if a random starts dropping sacks of cash on you, there's not anything you can do as they are automatically picked-up.

 

Obviously, the right thing to do would be keep it as cash and store it on a2nd character (if you have one) and ask Rockstar Support to remove the unsolicited charitable donation but it's too late for that now. Just keep that ion mind if the same happens again. Also, video footage can be handy to help prove your innocence.

That is how you get banned. If you report the money you received from the idiot modder, and tell them how much it was, Rockstar will remove it. If you don't tell them, and spend it, and Rockstar finds out they will ban you.

How much did you bank? Banking anything above 100k is automatically flagged.
