There's going to be a much older generation playing video games in the future. It will be normal for 80+ year olds to love these games eventually.

I have an 11 year old, shes just getting to the independent age whereby I get more spare(I mean gaming) time. Kiss your gaming time away for a decade or so!! Jk totally worth it though :)

I have a two year old son that plays online lol, If you see a liberator doing jumps along the east coast mountain range and reversing up when it hits a tree only to soon crash again youll have found him. "Oh dear, stack a bush.. Go back... Ready.Steady.. GoOOoOOo!,VrooOoOm, Vrooom monster jam dad, monster jam". Thats his typical speech. The idea of having babys is 1000 times less scary than actually watching a pregnancy and birth btw.

You seriously grouped 11-20? Are you retarded?

How exactly is it retarded? It simply isn't.

All ages are grouped in the same way.

Firstly, grow up. Not cool calling someone retarded, my 11 year old would know better. Secondly, that is a perfectly fine grouping. I suppose you dont think you're a kid lol.

i love when I get the "aren't u a little old for video games?"

And this question probably comes from someone who watches lots of trash TV shows too. We're all spending out time in front of a screen these days, why not have some fun?

Me in the world of gaming i'm probably ancient at 43 compared to most others ( I feel like it anyways, lol )

> truncated <

Awesome... lol..

So just like me you have watched the Gaming world evolve to what it is today...

Do you find these modern games like GTA to be lacking in content or is that just a young persons view who hasn't had to spend hours on end playing Asteriods/Pong.. lol

Modern games. Hmm. My cynicism gets the better of me, here.

I'm sympathetic to a generation of males (primarily) who are becoming more and more under the influence of intense addiction, every day.

Addicted to a natural drug, created by the own bodies, that they have no control over, designed by an industry that is more malevolent, in my opinion, than the cigarette companies today.

Children being exploited and lured into an addiction labeled as "fun" and "games."

Stuck in their addiction for 400-800 hours, then begging to spend their parent's money on DLC to play 400 more of the exact same thing, just a different color.

An entire generation of children, spending their best years of creative, productive energies, mindlessly deteriorating on a couch, while their dreams evaporate, one level at a time.

What skills are they learning? Who are their role models? What are their aspirations? Can you get into Syracuse or UCLA with background in Call of Duty? Will a level 300 get you hired?

These modern games. They scare me, mostly because while I can control my time with them, my four kids cannot.

Sure, I set limitations, guidelines, etc. But they're already hooked. Between social media, video games, cell phones, and computers, there's little time left for a brisk walk outside.

Consider where you and I came from. When games were something you could "feel" when you walked into the pizza joint, movie theater, bowling alley or arcade.

The deep, hauntingly rich sounds of Space Invaders, Asteroids, Pac Man, Centipede, and Missile Command were almost holy.

Not to mention the pinball machines. They were alive!

What can I say, we were blessed and we were lucky. We didn't have DLC or upgrades or Next Gen... we had quarters.

We didn't have 3 quest options, 200 side missions, 400 level-up options, or decisions like what color the shoes on our horse should be... we had a High Score to beat.

It will be both very interesting and yet, somewhat frightening, to see where all this goes and how these 7 year olds who call me "n-word" and "f#gg0t" will grow into the real world.

But one thing is for sure, the modern gaming of today will be the reminiscences of this generation.

What will their fondness of reflection be? Cheers. :)

I'm 27.

I suppose the reason there's so many 21 - 30 year olds is because we grew up with the GTA series. I'm not surprised at all. I can pretty much guarantee that most people in my age group will continue to play video games well into their 90s. I can't fathom the thought of growing out of video games, especially considering how much they've improved within only the past 10 years. I think we're in for an amazing journey.

44 years old here. Socom is my favorite game ever, I have 1500 hours on Arma 2 DayZ Mods and I play this game daily, buying it three times for three different platforms.

I laughed when I first read the title to this thread... All I could picture was a bunch of adolescent teens trying to exchange Snapchat and Skype names.

I was excited to see there are more of us first gen gamers than I thought. I'm one of the older gamers that get fed up with squeakers quickly, so call me a grumpy old gamer.

I started gaming on an old Texas instruments computer, the days when loading a game meant you actually had to know a bit about typing. Then I was blessed to be playing Atari's pong when my hippie parents got too stoned and handed over the paddles. I later had gotten my own Intellivision, then ColecoVision. It wasn't until my brother was born that I got an Atari that you could switch the cartridge and play a whole different game... Just like the old Texas instruments Oh boy, wait... What... No pause button ?

We later got Sega because grandma knew we wanted video games. Later that year I got Nintendo because my now reformed hippie parents found a bag of pot and heard about Donkey Kong.

Life progressed and I was able to buy my own Super Nintendo, Sony PlayStation, PS2 and then later I started to build PC.

I got heavily involved in PC gaming and became a beta tester at a very popular gaming community. I've worked with Tripwire Entertainment, Bungee, Infinity Ward, and my last project I was involved in was Medal of Honor Allied Assault for EA games.

Life progression again and I put video games on hold for a few years as I raise my kids, go to football games, hockey games and teach my son how to do a whip on his dirty bikes... LoL

I'm now 42 and I can honestly say I've been gaming longer than most of the fellow gamers have been alive. Feels kinda funny to say it sometimes, but others I'm like meh.. I'm an OG. Hahaha.

I've been first gen, last gen and next gen all in one life. I've been wired and wireless. I've hooked up games coaxial. I've had to leave game systems on for days because there was no such thing as saving a game... I've lost progression in a few games because I transposed one of the 40 something characters I had gotten as my save code... I've used game shark, game genie, run scripts and been modded...

I'll stop.

lol
