True...but yea...know a bit of both subjects and you know some of those missing people are probably dead and were killed for sexual gratification

 

Edit: most haunting idea is probably that many people are also simply not missed...like in colombia...pedro lopez and luis garavito were able to be unfound for their crimes simply because nobody noticed those street kids disapearing

Because not everyone takes things in a video game seriously. For some, it is merely audio and visual entertainment. If I saw someone spawn a large structure in the sky and start killing people with it, I'd laugh my ass off. It's just a game. Relax and deal with it. You shouldn't be letting a video game frustrate you so much anyway. If you're unwilling to deal with it, there are plenty of options to avoid it. New sessions, IO/friend sessions, SP, NG console are a few I can think of.

late last night i was in a lobby that had a hacker that blewup everyone in the lobby twice, and i even saw a hacker (it might have been the same hacker) put a insanely high bounty on another player (around $99999.000) way beyond the max you can set the bounty to.

i did report him even though it will most likely do no good.

r* needs to get their ban hammer out.

It isn't even about them getting attention anymore. It's just about them ruining the fun for others.

 

An example, today I was just going about my business everyone started begging for money. I then said in chat "Guys don't ask for money from this a**hole, report him". Suddenly the chat gets spammed with everyone getting killed by me. By me. Apparently the hackers now have the ability to explode everyone and frame someone else for it. People then started saying in chat to report me, and soon enough I was kicked from the lobby. Great, now I might get banned for something I didn't do.

Rockstar, do anything against these people! Why not a good anti-cheat client?

I don't think they care about modders on last gen, or even PC for that matter. They mainly care about current gen I think, which doesn't have any mods.

Some hackers do stuff for fun (make themselves monkeys or aliens, etc.; do things in invite-only lobbies; or give money to players that request it or just to show to their friends for entertainment purposes and not use it against other players. Yes, these are a minority of the community of "hackers" though nearly all would be "modders" or "script-kiddies" that .

 

Some A-holes use godmode glitches, wallbreaches, or scam-jobs to give them an unfair advantage because they suck. If they didn't suck, they wouldn't need to use them against other players. I don't care if they do those things against NPCs in private lobbies (in public lobbies they slow down and glitch-up the environment up for the rest of us)

 

When one of those trolls (not really the right term, but "griefer" requires repeating the same act), then it sucks and players should just change lobbies and leave them to play with themselves.

Most of the hackers I see on PS3 just spawn windmills in front of eclipse towers and occasionally turn themselves into UFOs and ferris wheels. On at least two occasion, though, I'll be shot up into the air and die, respawn and repeat. It's annoying.

I have always stayed in a private lobby but since the yachts came out, I started to go into public maps to see different colour combos and such before I got mine. I enjoyed my time just fugging around so even after I got my yacht (pisces!!), I have gone into public servers a few times and the hackers/modders have never seemed to cause some horror story. Generally, they have just stayed in an area on their own and messed around or only did things if people asked them to and only to the people asking, ie turning them into some weird character/object. I don't see any problem with that if people aren't doing anything to the game of others and I've got a good laugh at some of the stuff I have seen. If people take the game so seriously they can't get a laugh at some of that then wow, maybe they need to get some professional help. It's just a game.

 

Only on Saturday night did a guy really mess with someone but apparently the person he was messing with is some known streamer named Brittany Venti (guess she's a character the girl behind her plays) so he was just messing with her but nobody else, I guess to get a rise out of her to maybe get her to break character which is apparently what the followers of her try to do. I don't waste my time with that streaming stuff so that is only what I read when I went to see who she was. I was watching it unfold on the tv in my yacht since they were constantly yapping on chat and I had to mute my headphones. Funny thing is, I had no idea who she was until after she left and was going to report the guy but decided not to and am glad I didn't given her whole persona and such and how it wasn't just a guy messing with some regular player.

 

I'm on PC...maybe I've just been lucky to not come across any dbags looking to troll/mess with others.

You have been lucky. I tried to play public last night ... its getting really bad again ... Suddenly me and everyone else had xmas trees , street caution cones and all manner of other things attached to us. Whats coming next is repeated explosion death or crash, so I quickly switch back to single player and then to invite only room. It was really nice for the two weeks during the banwaves that there were either none or an extremely small amount of hackers on. I got to see GTA V Online in all its glory! Why do they only ban in waves? Why not just constantly ban people? It reminds me of someone who writes a script that runs out of cron nightly but never checks back on it so that months go by and it doesnt run.. sad

while i was looking i was blownup along with everyone else in the lobby by one player, i had an entire kill feed of players he killed plus he had a 12. something kd, no doubt he didn't earn, i did report him and voted to kick (not that it done any good).

yes and that is a nightly occurrence on PC. Its back to the point now that there is at least one in nearly every lobby. There was probably one in every lobby for the blissful two weeks but they weren't doing anything due to ban wave.

 

Xbox one / PS4 players ... are there hackers there? I might consider buying one of these systems. Might make a topic with a poll question later today even...
