ULPaperContact
Hello, I've tried making a map of my town for ages now, and I just can't do it. I've been working off Google Earth, and it sucks. My expertise is simply not enough. I was wondering if anyone could create my hometown and the surrounding area, then San-Andreasize it. THE PLACES The town is Portola, CA, 96122 zip code. I'll also want the highway to extend to the nearby Nervino Airport, and Reno somewhere on the map. I don't care what the island shape is (as long as it isn't any male body parts). THE STYLE I'd like it to look like the San Andreas map. I'm really sorry, but the only way I know of to do it is through Google Earth, or Google Maps. Google Maps probably seems easier, but I just can't get the hang of it. Thanks in advance, United Liberty Paper Contact
Graven
Hello! yeah google maps suck. This is quick bare WIP version. I just want to know what You think and what You may need for it before proceeding possibly. Street names and icons are removed for easy custom editing, and colors picked from SA map. It´s a vector file, and therefore scalable to any size, this is only a preview of the Portola, didn´t grab the Airport yet. http://i.imgur.com/jpn7Sb9.jpg LiniArc and or1
ULPaperContact
Wow, that's awesome! The only thing I don't like about it is how the green squares in the upper left just cut off, but other than that is is an amazing map!
Graven
Thanks. You mean the darker green? hmm, yeah they cut off like that because that´s the document edge, some of the roads still go over. I guess that area is denser forest or something, but the final map won´t be square so that´ll be fixed and look better right. I´m just wondering what size map You want, You could draw the outlines to that image roughly in paint. If You want it to be "Island" map. If I recall right that main road (70?) leads to Nervino airport on the right. It should be closer to Portola than in real life I think. Is this for fantasy or are You making a 3D game map of your town?

And by 'what size map I want' I really have no Idea. Whatever you feel comfortable with, I trust your judgement.
Graven
Portola & Airport, preview 4000px png, no water or drop shadow added because imgur converts bigger images to jpg. http://i.imgur.com/A7PdgqN.png or1
