Best way to find fun new games?

So I play with a large crew but finding fun games is a bit of a chore. Im on XBONE, anyone have an idea of finding fun stuff easier? We play a mix of all modes and looking for a good way to find more other than social club...

Stop pretending you're part of a big crowd, but are secretly lonely, that's your mistake.

 

The only way to find cool friends (and hence, interesting things to do) is by playing the game over time and becoming recognised.

Thank you for your help! (sarcasm) We play playlists and they are becoming stale, looking for a good way to quickly find new things to play other than looking through social club which sucks. I hope one day I can find someone as cool as you to show me the way.

You want ways of "quickly finding new things to play" without making friends or exploring the game. Count me out.

Spend a good hour looking at custom jobs on the social club. There are some really fun jobs out there if you look hard enough.

Spend a good hour looking at custom jobs on the social club. There are some really fun jobs out there if you look hard enough.

 

That is my current approach, I was just seeing if I was overlooking an easier way. Thanks for the positive suggestion!

OK, let me throw you an olive branch here. Have you heard of the Executives and Criminals Update?

Surely one of your "8-10 players per night" know about it and have a million dollars in the bank to register as VIP.

Thank you, yes I have heard of and played the update games. I personally have more fun playing user created games such as rockets vs insurgents, high as a fight deathmatch, demo derby etc. While we do mix in rockstar created game modes we have more fun playing some of the ridiculous user created stuff. The downfall is that some of them are awful so to play through them can be a chore, which is why if there were an easier way for me to find good stuff it would be helpful. IF there is no easier way its fine but again, just trying to see if I am overlooking a solution as I am not a know it all. Even someone pointing me in the direction of someone that they know that makes good playlists to sample etc. I'm not looking to be an asshole whiner.
A few months back I found someone that made sick playlists but they moved to PC and stopped making them, so I made the post hoping to find someone new. Unfortunately I only have 2-3 hours every few nights to play and to use it trying to find good stuff sucks if I have to go through bad stuff to find it. Don't get me wrong, if that's the way I have to do it I will but I figured there is a ton of knowledgeable people here that may be able to point me in the right direction.

With all the greatest respect, OP, but your attitude to GTA online seems rather archaic.

 

My attitude is go into Freemode, sell a car, survive the flack, and take it from there. There's no need to be so pedestrian these days.

 

And another tip I have for you is the Adversary Modes. Have you tried them? I don't think you'll find many playlists, but they're great if you can rely on a fixed group of 4-8 players without quitters.

I just quickjoined a random race and it was a blast:

 

GTA race around the horse-racing track

10 laps

Off-road class

Wanted-levels on

Forced first-person view (not my preference, but I adapt)

15 players (3 quit before it was over, and only 6 of us finished before it forced an end to the race six minutes after the winner finished)

 

That was one time where the Sanchez-riders had absolutely no hope in an off-road race. The host and I picked Insurgents and we came in 1st and 2nd; no one else picked those and did... poorly.

As if it wasn't enough of a bloodbath, the cops showing up made things messier

Depends who you play with. Last night I had hours of fun playing with just one friend. All we did was modify our cars and mess around.

 

But later that day I got quickly bored being in a crew lobby filled with 16 players.

I can respect that opinion. I've been playing for over 2 years, and I've had enough time in freemode where it isn't fun any more. I like to have an objective to work toward. Yes freemode/vip events are there but they are very meh at this point. Adversary modes are fun but with 8-10 different opinions. most of us like to mix it up. I do add adversary modes into playlists and again it adds to the mix of a bunch of different modes to play through.

Depends who you play with. Last night I had hours of fun playing with just one friend. All we did was modify our cars and mess around.

I agree with this 100%, A few of my friends can make free roam fun, others not so much.

Dude just hold Circle or equivalent on XBOX and you can disregard first person and enjoy third person again

also that race is fun

until assholes start going the other direction on the track

My only complaint was that it didn't have a K/D count. I don't care about my overall ratio, but I happily flattened some players that gave up driving and tried to RPG me
