GIMS EVO latest version,and I've downloaded it over and over again, but it's the same problem. I think you should release the update version?

You need to use GTA V bones! GTA V only support GTA V bones. GTA V have bones for fingers and such, GTA SA, only for the 5 fingers at once

@3Doomer im so needed of YFT<>OFT openFormats right now... i doesnt want to radically edit mesh to it can fits bones...because when i ripp lower then original bones its looks like this

Yesterday i converted models with GIMS and all went fine, but today I get this. I already tried reinstalling (deleting GIMS folder in Appdata and scripts/startup GIMS files in 3dsmax folder. Then put them back in)...
I got 2.9.2 OpenIV version and that is the latest one... Any possible fix?

edit: max version is 2014

Can you make a screenshot of that error? I can't find any errors in GIMS code that would match your quote.

 

The latest GIMS Evo for GTA V version is 9.5.2017 20:27 UTC by the way...you can check that too by pressing (i) button on the bottom right corner of GIMS window.

I can't check if I got latest Gims version because i can't start up Gims Evo, it stays loading like in the screenshot so yeah. I will now download GIMS Evo again from internet and i'll tell you if that works. Thanks for your help.

Thank you for bringing us these tools! Although I do have one problem when I modify a grenade, the modified grenade simply falls of the world, it's like it has no collision! I've used the original grenade collision and it exported fine, it also shows up in openiv when you select bounds option. Any help?

Are you sure that you haven't touched any of collision's composite child flags? It should work if they're the same.

Can somebody tell me if it is possible to properly skin a character in 3ds max and then export it correctly. I've been trying to make a high poly version of Niko for GTA IV and if I export my own skinning the models geometry gets corrupted in game. The same thing happens when modding for GTA V. Here are some examples.

You can see that there are places where the geometry gets this saw tooth like appearance. I've found that I can only skin the characters bodies correctly(usually) but I can't seem to create complex rigs for things like faces and fingers.

No, it isn't possible to properly skin a character using GIMS yet.

 

I'm working on a massive update which [hopefully] will improve export speed and skinning.

I try to make a ped model based on Amanda Character in the game
at firs i find it in the open iv . there is not exist any ig_amandatownley.ydd in the game instead of that there is a folder with that name and that include Amanda's separated body parts Like Access / Berd / decal / Heir /Hand / head / lower / teeth / upper1476730223465f00784e025f7f5a94a57a158074

after i make my model with 5 kind of heir / 2 kind of hands / 7 kind of lower / 8 kind of upper / head / teeth (eye - teeth - eyebrow) /and etc ...

I upload one kind of each parts screenshots you can see in here :

after that i start with teeth part

 

- import original teeth of Amanda with gims evo
- convert materials to game
- move my model to original model exact place that load in 3ds max
- apply game mesh on my model modifier list
- move center to exact center of game mesh of original model
- apply skin on modifier list
- add Fake bones 77 / 81 / 82 / 85 / 86 / 95 / 100 in envelope part of skin in modifier list exactly like the original model
- set abs effect on the vertex of my mesh in envelope 77 / 81 ... exactly like the original model


Fake bone 77 :

- i set all value of the skin and envelop modifier like original model

when i want export that i receive this error :
"[0 errors]
[1 warnings]
1 times: Model "teef_000_u/teef_000_u" has got more than one root bone.
All of them will be grouped into a new one with default parameters and unique ID.
If you want to tweak these parameters, consider creating the root bone by yourself, and attaching your model bones to it."

- i continue exporting and i add it to game

But i see the most Terrible and Disgusting thing that i have ever seen in my life and i cant sleep for 5 days until now .
Amanda was in the living room but her left eye is in the kitchen and looking around and some meshes project from her face to her right eye
i can not see her left eye but there must be somewhere in the bedroom because some stretched flexible meshes from her face project to second floor. her lower teeth was on the ground near the TV and rotates oddly . the house was full of stretched flexible meshes and when she wants to speak all off the meshes start moving in the house and i suddenly cant stand it and turn off my laptop by detaching the battery of it.
but why tat happend ?

- after that i try to import to original teeth in to gims evo and re exporting it without any modifying on that
i receive the same error again but why ?
i continue and see that terrible Scene again but at this time with original model
Why this happened ?
i think gims evo missed some bone when importing a ydd files that designed for teeth part
or open iv can not export it in to open format correctly
how can i fix this error ?
i want to continue and make all parts but this problem prevents my work

GIMS can't properly export a lot of facial bones now... I guess, you can try to use ZModeler for peds.

Also, you should use the skeleton from YFT to properly import a ped(without fake bones).

Look into FAQ in 1st post for details.

I have some problems with zmodeler in ped modeling it can not import ydd when i import ydd nothing happens i ask that in their forum but it not solve for me and i prefer use gims evo it is better in materials & modeling & editing meshes & even giving wight to vertex for bones

I try it on the head part and every thing is correct in gims evo and it load successfully in the game

in head part i see the software add all off body bones in hierarchy with real names

can i use them for teeth par ? i thing it may be work but i scared do that because if i see that Scene again may be i'll break the record of the youngest man who had a heart attack in the Guinness

It works, just gotta have the FacialRoot bone rigged for them to work properly.

I' m very busy IRL and can't really spend time on GIMS.

The next update will contain some fixes and some new secret features...that's it. After that, I'll work on import/export optimizations.
