MikeHn
Hey, I'm new to the board, and was just wondering if anybody here were experiancing the same problem I have. I have been playing VC for about 2 weeks now and it ran smoothly up until today. For some reason when I insert VC into the PS2, the PS2 begins to "tick" continuously. Once in awhile the "ticking" would go away and it would run fine. That is, until I buy property in the game; Then the game would freeze. I'm j/ really frustrated right now, why this isn't working. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Lance_Vance_Dance
Does it "tick" for any other games?
Ice_cobra
this is not the game, its the PS2. Sony sucks. You aleady have the ticks so you will probably get some DRE's or "Disk Read Error's" Then you phone sony and tell them the problem and they will tell you to do stupid things which dont fix the problem. Then they will say to send $110 to fix it. 95% of the time, something has dust on it or something is slightly out of place which can be fixed eaisly, but knowing sony, trying to fix it yourself and then they can't. The weird thing is that they are trying to cover this up, saying its not a common priblem. Check the web and you can find forums about Disk Read Error problems around the world. And if you really start to b*tch at them or mention the BBB, they waive the charges. Cheap B*stards! The only good thing is the system has the GTA series which is cool
MikeHn
That's exactly what it is...i get DRE's all of a sudden starting today. Should i just risk opening it and dusting it out?

GTA3Freak-2001
Are you sure the disc isn't scratched at all, cause that could be the problem, or dust so use an old toothbrush to clean the dust from around the vents at the front and back. Purple9
CD is fine, this happens with all my other games. Man i'm so frustrated right now Well, as a few have said already, it must be your ps2... If it's your laser which is damaged, man, unlucky...lasers cost a lot to repair, as you might already know. Phone around to see how cheap you can get it fixed for; because it's no good having a ps2 which is playing up. The Precinct - We're upping our standards, so up yours!
