it's a cringy ass wannabe horror game.

Far from it. Your statement proves that you never even touched the game, and more likely have no clue what it's about.

I can agree with you on the fanbase part, and I can also understand your dislike towards the game, but "cringy ass wannabe horror" is definitely not what Undertale is.

I knew i could've been wrong on that.

But all the footage i saw of it was just it trying to be scary or edgy.

Neither of the two, quite far from it. There's one short part in the game (it's like 2 or 3 minutes, all dialogue) that you could say it's horror, but it's like 1% of the game.

Watch Dogs was one of the worst games I ever played. Failed on all of its promises. Never noticed the graphics downgrade unlike a lot of people but the story has little base, a bad soundtrack and there was just a feeling of constant emptiness in the characters and the city of Chicago. Most disappointing game IMO as I waited so long for it.

Think that's a popular enough opinion but most times I say this, I get looked at like I have 3 heads lol

I didn't follow any of the pre-release hype. Hell, I don't even think I knew about the game until Kotaku did their review on it.

Say whatever you want about the game, but the soundtrack kicked ass. It was a perfect embodiment of Chicago music. Everything from punk to eclectic.

Nah, wasn't my taste but I'm into the older stuff. Invincible by MGK was the only good track in my opinion but I felt none of the tracks including that matched the atmosphere of the game.

After playing The Division, I have considered giving it another go but I just think about it and The Crew being two major let downs for Ubisoft

I love Watch Dogs, currently working on my third play through but the soundtrack is awful in my opinion. I always have the radio turned off cause while the original score and ambient music is great, the radio is super disappointing.

As much as I love The Division, I can't seem to find the motivation to go back at it.

And as such I'm stuck on Level 16 :[

Agree, the radio is f*cking AIDS. The dynamic score has some really good gems.

Not even trolling right now, but I find Skyrim so tediously boring. Played about half an hour of it a year or two back, and had the urge to try it again tonight, but after spending what felt like half an hour trying to run to a location in the pitch black, only to end up getting kiled by one thing or another, to then be respawned right back at the start again...sorry but that just isn't fun at all.

I've played The Division for as long as 1 day and a few hours on record with two characters registered.

I've seen flaws in this game. But I also seen good things that are worth thumbs up, but it seems people just don't see it or don't appreciate these features. Here are what I really appreciate from The Division as MMORPG so far:

1.Disconnection and reconnection. If your game is disconnected or frozen, you'll get thrown back to your team, alongside your loot. This is outstanding for me.

2. Seamless transfer between public and private/group session. Goes to HQ, you're now in public. Gets out of HQ, you're now in private session with yourself or with your group. Ability to toggle your group setting to Public, Friend, and Invite Only also sweetened this feature.

3. Create a strong border between PvE and PvP mode. Shared loot and no friendly fire encourage people to be not a dick when you're supposed to be a co-operative team. But if you want to do such things, you also have your own place in the game. No more team killing and objective-destroying on purpose like in GTAO PvE. No more 'help-me-but-everything-here-is-mine' attitude like in Borderlands Co-op.

4. Solo and Team friendly on PvE. Enemy count will be different but will still challenging no matter what. And they spawn in designated spawn points, instead of behind-your-back pop up and smash you to bits in 2 seconds. I'm thankful for the warning too.

5. Transferable gear to other characters. Just like in Borderlands, but with way more space. This way, I could aid my other character with better equipment. Sometimes I found several nice weapons and gears that are too nice to sell, but too low to use. With this, my other character can use it again.

6. Rewarding gameplay. Do free roam mission or main mission and you'll get ammo, weapons, items, consumables, parts, and clothes, but you still gotta be responsible with how much you can carry. What to do with it, it's up to you. This is what I expect to go back with after spending my time to kill dangerous people, rescue innocents, bust a drug deal, backing up soldiers, and such.

This is what I appreciate in this game so far. I don't know how the future of The Division will be. Will it be even better? Or will it introduce Cash Card, start taking things down, and make this game into your night time and weekend job? Nobody knows. I, of course hope it will be better. But if it turned out not, then I won't bite myself and simply put this game in my Sold List when the time comes. :happy:

Not pitch black so much so that I couldn't see anything at all, but it just made the traversing seem that much longer with so much open space...

I never found the appeal of The Witcher 3.

I personally never found the appeal of the series in it's entirety. I tried playing but lost interest after a while.

I think i already posted this, but i don't like Resident Evil 4 that much, is not really scary, the plaga guys can't hold a candle to the Racoon City zombies and i didn't favored the change from pure survival terror to action.

Not saying is a bad game in any way whatsoever (hell, i don't even hate Ashley) is just that is not what i expected or wanted in a RE, i still remember the confussion when i first played it.

I seem to be one of the very few people who prefers the plaga things (design wise) over the zombies from the old games. Don't get me wrong, I love most of the classic Resident Evil games that I've played (1, 2 and Remake. I've never played 3 or CVX, and 0 was simply dull) but the monsters in the newer games are so much cooler. 4, 5 and Revelations have some really awesome creature designs in my opinion.

The thing is, I've never found zombies to be scary, threatening or interesting. With the exception of classic Resident Evil, I just don't like zombie games. I have no interest whatsoever in playing Left 4 Dead, Dead Rising, Dead Island, Day Z, etc.

Sir Michael

I'm going to be in the minority here, but I always had a weird feeling about those shooters where you press a button and you magically teleport into one of its seats. I get that it's much faster, but it's weird to look at. Games like Battlefield have used this mechanic for years, but I feel like animations for entering vehicles can work just like the way they work in Halo. Getting stuck in an animation sucks, but Halo did it right by giving us controls to the vehicles in a snap. It would feel a lot more immersive by showing us hopping into a vehicle or into the gunner seat when inside the car instead of magically teleporting into an open seat.

So I finally decided to sign back in to GTAforums after a couple years and I find out that this thread is still somewhat alive! Boy do I have some unpopular opinions after the past couple years of gaming. Let's just get to it. GTA Online is a god damn atrocity to all of multiplayer gaming and just games in general, Fallout 4 is a pile of dog sh*t (tragic as this was one of my most hyped games), and Wolfenstein The New Order is one of the best fps's ever made.

The Uncharted games have piss poor stories and I Find all the games bland & Uninteresting.

I Abhor the last of us (I abhor zombies, in General, to be fair)

Far Cry 2 is the best in the series, Far cry 3 was good, far cry 4 was trash.

GTA V Had quite a good Story.

Mafia 2 was a brilliant game.

Max Payne 3 is far superior to the first two.

Watch Dogs was flawed but pretty good and a solid start to a new IP.

Grand Theft Auto IV Is the best Grand Theft Auto.

Polyphony Digital and it's Gran Turismo series are currently over hyped as hell, I quit the series after the mess GT5 was mainly because:

-1200 cars in the game, only 200 are worth driving because they are "premium" cars;

-Out of these 200 cars, 50 of them are a version of the f*cking Nissan GTR or Skyline R34;

-Damage models are laughably bad, and they managed to make it worse on GT6(a franchise is supposed to evolve with each installment and that was a retrocess);

-Cars still sounding like vaccuum cleaners, even the premium ones;

-Incredibly annoying tire screetching sounds, a problem persistent since the GT1;

-In most if premium cars, the dashboards only have the RPM, handbrake LED light and speedmeter working;

-Lack of cosmetic tuning parts besides some obnoxious spoilers, wheels with sizes limited to the car's original wheels and body kits exclusive to premium cars;

-Multiplayer servers being shut down only 3 months after GT6 was released, forcing online players to buy GT6 to keep playing with their friends, a clear as crystal cash grab;

-No Porsches(those RUF are standard and lack a lot of detail).

Just Cause 2 is overrated and Just Cause 3 is underrated imo. Basically I found 2 to be boring and 3 to be really fun even though the general consensus seems to be different at least based on what I've read on the Steam forums. I agree that 2 did some things better, but it was mostly stuff I don't find to be as relevant as the things that 3 improved upon.

Not even trolling right now, but I find Skyrim so tediously boring. That can be a pain. I rarely traveled at night. Press select (I think) and use the time-skip so you can travel by day when you can see and it's less dangerous.

We love a lot of the same games and I think you can enjoy Skyrim. You obviously tried because you tried twice and I think the concept appeals to you. I would give it another chance. You must remember to save it quite regularly. Good thing is you can save it whenever you want. With that in mind, the save is your friend. Same thing happened me at the start (Skyrim and Fallout 3 being my first proper foray in to RPG's). You must remember that you can be killed any moment (well, it's not that bad but if you think like that, you'll remember to save).

The exploring in the game is so beautiful. You can be wandering through the hills looking at the scenery and you'll always come across some hidden cave that ends up being huge. You'll find really cool unique swords, weapons and beautiful and curious dungeons, you'll meet some funny weirdos and come across some strange and spooky things on your travels.

I can't wait for the remaster to come out. I only got so far. The game is almost too big for me. Next time I wont talk to anyone unless I know I'm going to complete their side-mission first. If it bugs you that you have a bunch of side-quests open and you hate having a list of incomplete sh*t open, I would suggest only speaking with people and keeping your attention on what they give you to keep the story clear. I ended opening so many quests I didn't know what was going on.

But yeah, it's a lovely game (not without it's faults) but a great game to get started in the RPG world. It's worth the money for the hours you can get out if it. If you can put up with the start and then have the freedom to begin your quest, you should so it. You might be pleasantly surprised :D

Skyrim sucks, never understood the hype and praise. Thank god people at least bashed Fallout 4, lol.

Bethesda games just lack depth, there is a lot of "content" but its all generic and repetitive + the writing is atrocious and there are barely any RPG elements left. There are almost no choices etc.

Skellige in TW3 is basically what Skyrim should have been like, thanks CDPR!

Speaking of good (fantasy) games that one can't get into... I'm on a bit of a Witcher high, after re-reading the saga, so I picked up the Assassins of Kings, figuring that I could give the game a chance again... and nope. It's still not working for me. I don't really know what is wrong, I have all the prerequisites to enjoy this game, but when it was actually in my hands, I could play for an hour before getting tired of it and dropping it. And I had a similar problem with the Wild Hunt too, so there is a reoccuring trend. Maybe it's the pacing, the presentation, the gameplay... it's just dull for me.

I totally, absolutely, get why people love this game and I see the quality, but I just can't get into it. I was wondering if it wasn't just a time issue, that I just can't dedicate so much time to these massive games and slow plot and exploration just turns me away... but that can't be true completely. Yes, it is undoubtedly a factor, but not the deciding one, because I've also sank like fifty hours into New Vegas again recently. So these sprawling RPGs are still capable of getting me hooked.

Eh, maybe Cyberpunk will be something more up my alley.

I disagree, if you want to create a new GTA, create a new area entirely. I was hoping to see some parts from 3 return.

Otherwise.... the True Crime games were actually quite good. The Witcher 3 was boring and the Fifa games need to stop this recycled yearly rubbish.

I understand how you feel. I think that's what fantasy RPGs and to an extension open-world games were for me at the beginning. I know this will sound airy-fairy but something that gets me in to these games it's actually imagining the game-world and me exploring it get's me in to it. If I've been playing a modern, futuristic or city-based game, I might crave something like Skyrim, then if I get bored, I'll go back to GTA.

I think one key is having a goal within the game so you have direction and purpose. For example, I was saving for a house in Skyrim so I said to myself that the particular sit-down/gaming session was going to be dedicated to looting and saving cash. I wasn't going to get distracted by that random cave or that fight. When I get bored of my self-imposed restrictions, it feels liberating then to say to myself "right, I'm going to go explore" or "i'm going to tackle a series of side-quests." It leaves me feeling that I achieved some goals, I set out to so what I was supposed to do. Then when I'm done with those tasks I'll go have some fun and f*ck around.

On the flipside of that, you can turn on the game, not really have any idea in mind and just go with the flow, get distracted by that cave or shiny thing in the woods and then go down the proverbial Skyrim rabbit hole and end up mucking about doing a million things but not really progressing and getting anything done, then a feeling of under-achievement, eventually boredom (boredom will always arrive) and none of the satisfaction of completing any thing. It's a sort of play-and-reward system I loosely go by.

I'm using Skyrim as an example here but it applies to most games. I do it in GTA too. I'll hit up all the side-missions, save cash and maybe do collectibles at the start of my sit-down. When I'm bored of that stuff, I'll hit up a story mission for fun and then I might f*ck around and explore after that. I always find having goals and intentions before sitting down to open-world games fundamental to enjoying the experience. It's like a self-imposed methodology and structure to keep me focused. Works for me at least especially now that I don't find rampaging that fun any more.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be awesome, I hope. (sorry I went completely off topic)

RPGs are there to loose countless hours immersed in an explorable open world. Especially at the very beginning when the gaming mechanics aren't familiar and you kinda get soaked in for the whole night and totally forget you have to wake up in two hours for school/work. But you just don't give a sh*t that you spend 5 hours in front of the screen cause you still need to find out why the hell Helgen was attacked by a dragon or what happened to Ciri, though that is just the icing of the cake. Exploration, side quest, looting are only a few things you can do in these worlds.

In RPGs, you can always come back for more and you're never completely done, even when you're done. There are still many more character builds and decisions waiting in your next playthrough.

My not-so-unpopular gaming opinion is that I love getting addicted to new open world RPGs, just none of that MMO crap.

Dark Souls is overrated. Not sure why it became so popular, yeah its difficult at times but a game needs to be more than that.

The world isn't very interesting (some stuff is ripped off from Berserk), the story and characters are non existent etc.

Nah nah nah Gta 6

-GTA San Andreas on the original PS2 at it's original resolution looks so f*cking horrible it feels unplayable.

-Crash bandicoot 3 wasn't even a platformer, it was a bunch of vehicles with some platforming levels.

-Racing games such as Gran Turismo or Forza bore the sh*t out of me.

-I despise it when the final save point of a game is before the final boss, basically means the game is impossible to 100%

-Super Mario 64 DS > Super Mario 64.

-Crash of the titans was a good game and so was it's art style.

-Fallout 4 was meh, I really tried to like this game but I can't.

-Rayman 2 is overrated and Rayman 1 is better.
