Second Heists Update?

Do you think Rockstar will publish a second heists update?

It would be great, I liked the Heists missions, they were great and with those you have the opportunity to earn much money. But they should insert a heist at a big bank (e.g. the Maze Bank, here was not any heist yet).

Also a decision how you can do the heist like in the single player would be great. NPC(s) to choice would be also great.

What do you think? Not or maybe something similar?

Absolutely. 5 heists feels like too few and I can see plenty of new possibilities.

A casino heist where we assault the business base of some sort of gang?

My dream would be to be able to destroy the activities of the local mobs which haven't been talked about much in the game. Just think of it, a heist for every group of gangsters. My god...

I would love a second heists update. The first one was, in my opinion, the best DLC we've ever had.

If there is a second one coming I could see it possibly at the 1-year anniversary of the original Heists update.

Would be good, but I'm pretty sure Rockstar said it won't happen (I don't have a source, hence I said pretty sure)

It took them so much work to get these hiests in, I think they now want to focus on other areas.

Do I think it'll happen? No. R* said they weren't working on any more heists as of not long after that update. I don't expect that to change unless there's an announcement

There was some IGN interview they released.

"Heists have been a huge success, and they really revitalized the GTA Online community," Sarwar explains. "Heists encourage people to play together while giving them the chance to earn serious amounts of cash. However, as we’ve said before they were also a lot harder to make than we initially thought they would be, and it took us multiple tries to come up with the design that we eventually launched – but we believe and hope it was well worth the wait for everyone. They were a tremendous undertaking and for now we have other ideas for GTA Online that we’re working to deliver

I sure hope they do, if there's one update that would excite me the most aside from SP DLC, it is Heists II.

Well there's this:

Cut content. Check GTAV's beta thread for more info found by me.

Oh, got it!

Rockckstar's main focus now is creating a constant PvP, 24/7 warzone in Free Mode and flooding the game with crappy Adversary Modes. Heists are the complete opposite of that.

We definitely need new heists - ones that pay more too. Pacific Standard was a good haul when it was released, but with things becoming more and more expensive these days, we need heists that pay more. I'd love a Union Depository heist.

Such deleted files from a beta version I guess (like with this singleplayer mission at Madrazos house).

Yup. Rockstar is making an incredible amount of money from GTA:O and they would be really stupid not to add more big content like heists and keep players playing.

Well there's this:

There is such a thing as cut content, you know. That's not to say R* won't repurpose it for something else in the future (i.e. like they've done with Lamar's Lowriders mission).

R* also said they wouldn't patch fun glitches

R* also said heists would be in the game already

R* also said online 1 week after release

R* also said spring

Rockstar says a lot of stuff. They're like the best and worst company at the same time. Is that even possible?

Heists was probably the most expensive DLC for Rockstar.

In addition to the programmers and artists making new cars and weapons stuff found in all DLCs, there was a significant amount of motion-capture, new dialog to be written and record, a ton of cutscenes to choreograph, and a lot more testing to make sure all that player co-op interaction worked on all 5 platforms.

Most of the co-op interaction bugs have been ironed out and they would only need to test on 3 platforms, but that's still a lot of writing, motion-capture, and voicework to produce for a free DLC.

They could pretty much agree that the market for PS4/XBOne/PC players buying the game is saturated. People that haven't bought the game by now are very likely not going to buy it in the future, so any new DLC (heists, or complicated or simple additions) are going to have to be funded by something: Shark Cards or subscription fees or a paid DLC. If their consumer research tells them people won't pay a for subscription or DLC and the Shark Card sales won't cover the costs of another round of Heists, then they won't do it. It's not "Charitystar Games" or "Our-employees-are-unpaid-volunteers...star Games"

They certainly could create another round of heists, but their motivation to do so may be low. If that's the case, then business-sense would be to start people working on GTA VI instead, because a new game would be something that could bring in income.

I think they're smart to temper expectations, if that is what they're doing. People freaked out about the delays of heists for the entire year and a half they took to arrive. It's better that, if new heists do ever come, we don't even know about it until an announcement is made (or until someone leaks something, which would also mean they're close). They don't want to say "Yeah we want to add another couple heists!" and then take a year to deliver; everyone will lose their minds.

I see where you're coming from, but I think the main motivation would be the same as with any other update: keep people playing and thus buying shark cards. A new heists update with even 2-3 new heists and some more new vehicles and stuff to buy would be probably the third most attention-getting update the game has ever had. That's nothing to sneeze at. Updates in the old style (3 new cars, 2 new guns, and some clothes) aren't going to cut it for a game as old as GTA:O; the loyalists will be happy but no one is coming back just for that kind of content anymore.

I believe that open freemode events, VIP missions and other PvP dynamic activities are the way forward for GTA online, and that seems to be what Rockstar have concentrated on over the last six months, plus the addition of yachts, stilt houses, lowriders and other player items for freemode ostentatiousness. Provided of course that you can still earn good money from these types of events.

Single player seems to be a thing of the past and nothing new has been released for that in over two years, and heists, contact missions and Lamar missions are lobby type games that take you away from the crowd, into a small pack of friends, where you play against NPCs. These sorts of missions are great at first but once you've done them several times the possibilities get a bit thin and they become very repetitive.

I guess Rockstar would prefer everyone sticking together in an open freemode world? I guess in the future, in many years from now, we'll be looking at open lobbies with tens of thousands of players all playing together at the same time - that seems to be the future of GTA online to me.

I'd personally prefer new Heists to have a more open structure than the ones we've had before - there's very little margin for error or room to improvise in the current ones. The excitement and replay value for me would be in dealing with setbacks if they occur, not having the whole thing brought to a grinding halt with a 'Mission Failed' message and being forced to start over at a checkpoint.

Also, more two-player ones like the Fleeca Job would be welcome too... more 'petty crime' style jobs (and less military-style government ops for shady agencies) that could also be pretty flexible. Plus there's plenty of other small banks around the map that could be used to keep the experience fresh.

This game badly needs new heists especially a substitute to Pacific Standard heist..

Atleast the Lamar lowrider missions had cutscenes which were actually fun seeing your character in a cutscene but the problem with those missions is that the pay is mediocre + the mission restarts if one dies like heists

They're not the best or the worst. They are cunning and they have a lot of numb-minded fans.

I'm hoping that after they figured out how to get the first heist update ready, that it'd be less work for them to release a second heist update. Less trial and error making another heist update I'm hoping.
